HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Cleanup efforts are underway Tuesday afternoon after an accidental hydraulic oil spill caused slippery roads in Holyoke. West Springfield DPW launches new pothole machine The Holyoke Fire Department shared at approximately 1:40 p.m. that a private company trash truck spilled hydraulic oil on Northampton Street, with the spill extending north on Beldevere Avenue to Dwight Street. Drivers are urged to take caution, as the roads affected are slippery as a result of the spill. The company is reportedly arranging for cleanup at this time. Holyoke firefighters put out vehicle fire on Route 141 intersection

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Crews worked to put out a vehicle fire at an intersection in Holyoke overnight. Excellence in Teaching Awards honor 108 local educators The Holyoke Fire Department states that crews were set to Route 141 and Jarvis Ave for a motor vehicle accident. While crews were on their way, the call was updated to a vehicle fire. Once crews arrived, an unoccupied vehicle was found crashed into a tree and on fire. Crews were able to put out the fire quickly. The driver of the car had run off, so it is unknown at this time if there were any injuries. There is no word on what caused the crash. The Holyoke Fire Department's Alarm Division will be repairing the damage to the traffic signal on Monday.
