Huge Matches Signed For AEW Summer Blockbuster

AEW Summer Blockbuster is going to be a big one, with two matches already confirmed for the event. During Wednesday's episode of AEW's Fyter Fest, Will Ospreay took to the ring alongside Tony Schiavone. He said he regrets trying to pair up Adam Page and Swerve Strickland, and has since adjusted his focus. In a surprising moment, Ospreay then challenged Strickland to a singles match at the upcoming TV special. The match was later confirmed by the show. Ospreay and Strickland met each other in the ring at last year's Forbidden Door pay-per-view in an instant classic. In that match, Strickland walked out the winner, something Ospreay hopes to change this time around. Advertisement Elsewhere in the show, it was also confirmed that The Hurt Syndicate would take on Speedball Bailey, Komander, and Kevin Knight in a trios match during the show. AEW Summer Blockbuster is set to take place on June 11, 2025, and will be held at the Theater of the Clouds at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The fully updated card for the TV special is as follows: Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland The Hurt Syndicate vs. Speedball Bailey, Komander & Kevin Knight READ MORE: AEW Fyter Fest Results: Review, Grades, Card For June 4 The post Huge Matches Signed For AEW Summer Blockbuster appeared first on Wrestlezone.

MVP Clarifies Whether He's Retired From Competing

It has been nearly four months since former WWE United States Champion MVP has competed in a match. It was a six-person tag team match where The Hurt Syndicate wrestled the team of Mark Briscoe and Private Party. Recently, the manager of The Hurt Syndicate provided an update on his in-ring status. While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on his Insight Podcast, MVP shared that he has not officially retired from in-ring action. The former WWE United States Champion recalled the aforementioned six-person tag team match and shared that being in the ring wrestling once again felt very good. Advertisement 'No, not yet. I got a little bit left in me. It's funny. We did a six-man about a month ago now, give or take, and they were teasing me because I was actually in there for a little while, and it felt good. It was coming back to me, and Shelton said, 'Are you ever gonna tag out?' I'm like oh yeah, maybe I should,' MVP said. 'I Got a Little Left In Me,' AEW Star Shuts Down Retirement Rumors

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. AEW has one of the most stacked rosters in current-day pro wrestling and the history of the wrestling business. While they have multiple shows, that doesn't mean that everyone can be used on TV or even have a match on occasion. For one veteran star, he has shut down any talk or speculation that his days in the ring are over. In fact, he has a little bit more. January 15, 2025 - MVP kicks Mark Briscoe in the head when The Hurt Business took on Private Party and Briscoe on AEW Dynamite. Ryan Loco/AEW MVP is that star, and despite spending decades in the wrestling business, he has erased any doubt of retirement. During an interview on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, he was asked whether he has retired from the ring. "No, not yet. I got a little bit left in me," MVP said. "It's funny. We did a six-man about a month ago now, give or take, and they were teasing me because I was actually in there for a little while, and it felt good. It was coming back to me, and Shelton said, 'Are you ever gonna tag out?' I'm like oh yeah, maybe I should." MVP made his presence felt in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) with a notable debut at Grand Slam on September 25, 2024. His arrival saw him interrupt Prince Nana, who was addressing the status of the injured Swerve Strickland. True to form, MVP's arrival in AEW was not a solo venture. He forged alliances with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, forming a new dominant stable known as The Hurt Syndicate. More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation This reunion with Lashley and Benjamin recreated a formidable faction reminiscent of their impactful run in WWE. Within The Hurt Syndicate, MVP assumes the roles of both manager and co-leader, leveraging his experience and strategic acumen to guide the group's actions and influence within AEW. While MVP's primary function in AEW has leaned towards management, providing strategic guidance and utilizing his considerable mic skills to amplify The Hurt Syndicate's presence, he has also laced up his boots and stepped back into the squared circle. His AEW in-ring debut occurred in January 2025 during a tag team encounter on Dynamite. On this occasion, he teamed with his Hurt Syndicate brethren, Lashley and Benjamin, to take on the team of Private Party and Mark Briscoe. Under MVP's guidance, The Hurt Syndicate has established itself as a significant force within AEW. Lashley and Shelton won the AEW Tag Team Champions. Chris Jericho is disappointed, and he's leaving

Sunday night at Dynasty, The Learning Tree's Big Bill and Bryan Keith were unable to beat AEW Tag Team champions The Hurt Syndicate for their belts. Later in the night, Bill & Keith's sensei Chris Jericho lost the Ring of Honor World championship to Bandido in a title vs. mask match. Advertisement Jericho hosted an edition of his TV Time talk-show-within-the show on Dynamite tonight (April 9). He congratulated Bandido, then brought out his students. Based on how things have been going within the group for the past several weeks, Bill issued an ultimatum to Jericho... if he was actually going to teach them, the seven-footer would stay and listen. But if the nine-time World champ was going to berate them, Bill was going to leave. After grilling the Bounty Hunter to see if he felt the same way, Jericho told the pair that he wasn't angry. Instead, he pulled a trick known to dads everywhere and told them he was 'disappointed'. Jericho did a poor job masking his anger through, and proceeded to destroy the set. He then said that until that changes, it's best that he leave. Then he did. And he kept on leaving, and smashing things on his way out. Advertisement How long will he take off to get un-disappointed? How loud will the pop be when Bill finally clocks him? Weigh in below, and get complete results from tonight's episode of Dynamite here. More from
