Robert De Niro, 81, Shares Top Parenting Tip for Raising 2-Year-Old Daughter

Actor Robert De Niro has seven kids—so he's qualified to dole out a little bit of parenting advice. De Niro shared his golden rule when it comes to parenting in a recent interview, which involves unequivocally supporting his kids. In addition to a prolific acting career, De Niro also stays busy with his brood, which ranges from a 2-year-old up to a De Niro could host a masterclass on a number of topics (acting, for starters) but, as a father of seven children, he also has ample experience in that realm—certainly plenty of experience to share advice. And that he did, telling Entertainment Tonight his golden rule when it comes to parenting, including being a dad to his youngest child, 2-year-old Gia, who he shares with girlfriend Tiffany Chen. 'The main thing is to support your kids,' De Niro said. 'As long as they're not hurting themselves, doing anything destructive or anything like that, you have to support them—period.' 'Even if you don't go with it or think that they…you have to support them,' the veteran actor continued. 'And they have to know that you support them. Always.' Per Page Six, De Niro also gave an update on Gia, who was born in April 2023: 'She's just pure joy,' he said. 'She's 2 now, so as they get older and older then…you know? But it's always wonderful. Pure joy, what can I say?' De Niro said Chen—a producer whom De Niro met on the set of 2015's The Intern—'does the heavy lifting' when it comes to Gia, telling The Guardian in October 2023, 'It is what it is. It's okay. I mean, I don't do the heavy lifting,' adding that raising kids 'doesn't get easier' even if you've done it for a long time. 'I'm there. I support my girlfriend. But she does the work. And we have help, which is so important.' De Niro told The Sunday Times in November 2024 that he doesn't change Gia's diapers, 'but I used to,' he said. Referring to the popular kids YouTuber, he continued, 'I spend my mornings watching Ms. Rachel with her, and I give her her bottle.' 'I try my best, that's all,' he said about raising his seven kids, who range from 2 years old to 57 years old. 'I hope they'll be happy.' Read the original article on InStyle

9 New Movies on Netflix We Can't Wait to Watch This June

Somehow, up until now, there's only been one Nancy Meyers film available on Netflix. (The Holiday -- you know, the one that stars Jude Law as Mr. Napkin Head.) But that will change when the 2015 comedy The Intern arrives this month. Despite the great cast with Anne Hathaway, Rene Russo and Robert DeNiro, the film doesn't have the cultural cache of some of Meyers' other films, but it's still a super charming affair. DeNiro stars as Ben Whittaker, a retiree who can't sit still, so he gets a job as an intern at a fashion start-up run by Hathaway's character, Jules Ostin. Initially dismissive of old-guy Ben, the two form a sweet bond as Ben becomes something of a confidante to his boss. (And yes, Jules has a great kitchen in her Brooklyn brownstone -- What, you think she wouldn't?) The Intern premieres on Netflix June 22.

Deepika Padukone Reveals Keeping Daughter Dua Away From Limelight For THIS Reason

Last Updated: Meanwhile, on the work front, while Deepika is currently on maternity leave, she will soon begin shooting for the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are currently enjoying their parenthood phase. Last year, the couple welcomed their first baby girl, Dua. Since then, they have been keeping her away from all kinds of limelight. In a recent interview, Deepika opened up about their conscious decision to keep Dua away from the paparazzi and social media spotlight—and the reason is both heartfelt and relatable. In an interview with Marie Claire, Deepika Padukone revealed that she wants to give Dua a normal childhood. She said, 'We weren't burdened with our parents' hopes and dreams. I don't ever remember my father sitting me down and saying, 'Hey, I'm a professional badminton player and I'm a celebrity.' I remember it being he was a father first, and everything that we got to know of him was based on just our own curiosity and the fact that everything was just so normal." In the same interview, she also revealed why she kept her daughter name Dua. The actress said, 'I think what was more important for us was to first hold the baby in our arms, allow her to sort of see this new world she's come into, allow her personality to start developing a little bit." The actress sought inspiration from poetry and music and came upon the name Dua, Arabic for prayer. She said, 'It felt like a beautiful summary of what she means to us and why she means what she means to us." Deepika also revealed that Ranveer Singh had left it to her to decide when they would have a child. She revealed, 'He was like, 'It's your body. Yes, it's a together decision, but eventually it's your body that's going to go through it. So whenever you feel ready.'" Meanwhile, on the work front, while Deepika is currently on maternity leave, she will soon begin shooting for the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD. She also has the Indian remake of The Intern in the pipeline. The film will also star Amitabh Bachchan. Their on-screen chemistry was much appreciated in Piku, which is re-releasing in cinemas on May 9. Reportedly, Deepika Padukone will be reuniting with Shah Rukh Khan in King. She has also joined Prabhas starrer Spirit. First Published:
