Sharon Osbourne's own heartbreaking health admission weeks before Ozzy's death
Sharon Osbourne recently opened up about her own health turmoil, sharing how late husband Ozzy Osbourne feared he was going to lose her after she received a devastating diagnosis Sharon Osbourne is grieving the loss of her husband Ozzy Osbourne after he passed away at the age of 76, mere weeks after his final gig in his home city of Birmingham. His family paid tribute to a "beloved" husband and father, who passed away "surrounded by love", and Sharon, 72, devoted herself to caring for her husband in his final years, with the Black Sabbath frontman having lived with Parkinson's Disease alongside other issues. Music manager Sharon has also spoken openly about her own health difficulties, and recently made a heartbreaking admission about her journey with colon cancer. Back in the early '00s, life was a whirlwind for Sharon, who had to juggle motherhood with the pressures of being one of the most recognisable TV personalities on the planet. Long before The Kardashians entered the scene, reality TV lovers had The Osbournes, which featured the ups and downs of life in the Osbournes' Beverley Hills Mansion. The enormously popular show featured Ozzy, Sharon, and two of their children, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39. Their daughter Aimee, 41, declined to participate. London-born Sharon was an onscreen natural, with viewers on both sides of the pond warming to the no-nonsense matriarch. As her star continued to soar, however, Sharon found herself having to deal with a devastating colon cancer diagnosis in the full glare of the limelight. The fiercely protective mum was first diagnosed in the summer of 2002, the same year that The Osbournes premiered on MTV. And she did everything in her power to protect her children from the heartbreaking realities of the disease, which had spread to her lymph nodes. In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Sharon was quizzed about why she continued working during her illness. She replied: "Because I didn't want my kids and my husband to know how sick I was. When you say 'cancer', everybody always thinks 'death'. And you've got to remember it was 23 years ago." The X Factor judge continued: "At that point, cancer wasn't the same as it is now. So everybody always thought it was a death sentence and I didn't want my kids to have fear constantly surrounding them. I didn't want it." Sharon, then 49, didn't shy away from discussing her cancer while filming, with the show documenting everything from her chemotherapy treatment to her decision to turn to Cher's wig maker after her hair fell out. Although the couple put on a brave public front, Ozzy later opened up about his fears for Sharon's life in an interview with Classic Rock magazine. He revealed: "I thought she was going to die. I never knew anybody that had survived cancer. As far as I was concerned, patient plus cancer equals death. But my wife is a very strong woman." Thankfully, Sharon went on to make a full recovery, and went on to found the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars Sinai Hospital in August 2004.

Ozzy Osbourne's most hilarious reality TV moments on The Osbournes as star dies aged 76
As the sad news of Ozzy Osbourne's death breaks, we look back at some of Ozzy's most memorable moments from the family reality TV show The Osbournes which aired from 2002 - 2005 The Osbournes are often credited as being the pioneers of reality TV - making way for huge names such as The Kardashians, which aired two years after Ozzy's show ended. The Osbournes debuted in 2002, airing 52 iconic episodes until it wrapped up in 2005. The show followed the life of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon, alongside their two children Kelly and Jack. The couple also share eldest daughter Aimee together, who chose not to appear in the hit show. Last night, the tragic news broke that Ozzy Osbourne had died aged 76, just weeks after his farewell gig at Villa Park in his hometown of Birmingham. The Mirror looks back at some of the star's most iconic moments from his MTV reality TV show... Fighting the TV remote One scene that will always pop into The Osbournes fans' heads when they think about the show is Ozzy's one man fight with his TV. The show first aired in 2002, five years before the release of the first ever iPhone, so we can't exactly blame Ozzy for being a huge technophobe. As usual, Ozzy sat down on his couch to enjoy some down time but it was instantly ruined by the weather channel. "What the f**k am I doing?," he exclaimed. "I'm stuck on the weather channel!" Ozzy then became over stimulated when the phone started ringing amid all the chaos, as he called on his son Jack Osbourne for help. "I'm a very simple man," he told the camera. "You gotta have computer knowledge to turn the f*****g TV on and off!" "Jack!," he continued to shout. "Why can't I get a normal f*****g TV man!", he shouted about their new system. Placing his hands on his head, an overwhelmed Ozzy shouted: "I pressed the one button and the shower starts going on. What is this? Nightmare in Beverley Hills!" Ozzy had enough of the dogs Another scene that will forever have Osbourne fans in tears is when Ozzy lost it after one of the families troublesome dogs urinated on the carpet. In a clip which still does the rounds on TikTok today, the Black Sabbath star could be heard screaming: "Who p**sed? Who p**sed on my f*****g carpet?! That b*****d dog man, I'm going to throw it in the pool!", he screamed as he frantically ran around the living room. He then began chasing after the dogs as he ordered: "Get the f**k out of my house, go on! Get out!", as he continued to call his dog a "terrorist". He then continued to ask his wife Sharon why their dogs thought it was okay to do that, as she proceeded to calmly spray the carpet. Ozzy continued his hilarious rant: "It's not like it was just a little squirt! He must have an extra tank!", as Sharon responded: "It's like a camel." Ozzy sets the blender on fire Even Rockstars make their own smoothies - but Ozzy may have regretted his decision after the hilarious moment. After moments of struggling, Ozzy finally got the blender to work and sat down to watch some TV as his delicious pink drink prepared in the background. However, things didn't go as 'smoothly' as he may had hoped as viewers witnessed smoke coming out the bottom of the machine. None the wiser, Ozzy settled down for a nap on the sofa as chaos erupted in his kitchen and the rockstar woke up to the sound of beeping noises. The most hilarious moment came when he nonchalantly went over to his blender and poured out his smoothie like nothing had happened. Many have described the moment as one of their favourite reality moments of all time - and it's no wonder. 'Your name's going to be dead if you touch my chicken' Ozzy's love hate relationships with his pets continues as he defended his chicken from his cat. In the hilarious clip, Ozzy could be seen prepping some tasty chicken, as his cat watched on from the kitchen counter. The feline then stood up, looking tempted by Ozzy's meal - but of course, the star wasn't having any of it. "Now f**k off!" he exclaimed. He then began listing a number of names before concluding: "Whatever your f*****g name is." "Your name's going to be dead if you touch this chicken!" he warned the poor cat. Ozzy's brutal warning to Kelly and Jack Sibling rivalry is one that can't be beat, and Kelly and Jack entertained fans for years with their rollercoaster sibling relationship. The brother and sister duo had a number of heated arguments, one of the most memorable being over Christina Aguilera. Although their mum Sharon may have taken a softer approach with her kids, Ozzy was always straight to the point however, as he'd exclaim: "STOP FIGHTING!" "Let me give you a little bit of a warning here. This will end in f*****g tears. I suggest you stop acting like a pair of d***s right now! Quit stop!" That sure told them!

Former MTV boss praises The Osbournes impact on reality TV in tribute to Ozzy Osbourne
The Osbournes boss Van Toffler says Ozzy Osbourne and his family brought a "wonderful, serendipitous chaos" to reality TV. The former MTV boss helped launch the infamous reality show in 2002, years before the likes of Real Housewives or The Kardashians had fans hooked, and Toffler has reflected on the show's impact following the death of Ozzy on Tuesday (22.07.25) aged 76. He told Variety: 'We were deep in the throes of reality television in the early 2000s but I don't think we'd ever had someone over 50 years old featured on any show on MTV in its history. 'We were looking to launch Cribs, and we shot a bit with the Osbournes, and we all kind of looked at each other and just felt there is some wonderful, serendipitous chaos and insanity in this house that people would eat up. "What a loving, dysfunctional, chaotic, musical family they were. And it just hit us to keep shooting, which went on for years.' The TV executive was speaking to the outlet after the Black Sabbath frontman's death, and he sent his thoughts to his family. He added: "I want to say I feel so sad and full of sorrow for Sharon and the kids, that is my immediate feeling.' Toffler - who was with MTV for almost 30 years - pointed to how Ozzy's outrageous reputation was a perfect storm for the show. He recalled: 'It was so wrong, but unlike anything else that was on TV. 'First of all, that family — with the king of metal featured, and all the things he was allegedly accused of doing — but also the language! "We had to bleep so much of the dialogue. That became such an integral part of it, the way we bleeped it, how often we bleeped it, and we weren't making it up.' Meanwhile, the show's success empowered MTV and reality TV as a whole to "follow our whims around subcultures", while showing their lives in a "different" situation than how they "became famous". Toffler pondered: 'I somehow believe the Kardashians would have found the limelight, Osbournes or no Osbournes." He added: "[But] I think 'The Osbournes' opened the door for kind of exposes about people's lives, kind of like what we did with Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson (Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica). "They both were pop stars, and then we documented their marriage. The Osbournes definitely opened the door for that kind of verite follow-doc series.'

Ozzy Osbourne insider lifts the lid on why 'we just fell in love with' the family
Ozzy Osbourne enjoyed immense success with Black Sabbath and then as a solo artist but the creation of MTV reality show The Osbournes saw the star reached new audiences Fans "just fell in love with" the Osbourne family following the release of their reality show because they adored the clan's affection for each other, an expert said. Speaking following the rock legend's death aged 76, those who knew Ozzy have paid heartbreaking tributes to the star. Many have praised Ozzy's work both as a musician and as a reality TV star, as which he found fame following the four series' of The Osbournes on MTV. It aired between 2002 and 2005, some decades after Black Sabbath's heyday - though the band were still going at the time - and critics say it showed a different side to dad-of-six Ozzy. Nick Caruso, staff editor at publication TVLine, said: "You turn on this show and you get this like little jazzy cover theme song of the song 'Crazy Train', and there's all these bright colours and fancy editing, and we just got to see this like totally 180-degree different side of Ozzy which was just surprising and incredible to watch. For some reason, we kind of just fell in love with them the same way that we grew to love Ozzy and Sharon as like a marital unit." Mr Caruso compared The Osbournes to a family sitcom, praising its warmth and ability to connect with audiences. Two of Ozzy and Sharon's children; Kelly and Jack also starred in the programme, which ran for 52 episodes and was regarded as a pioneering programme in its genre. READ MORE: Ozzy Osbourne lauded as 'huge trailblazer' by heartbroken friend Sir Elton John Kathryn VanArendonk, a critic for Vulture and New York Magazine, also lauded the tone of the programme. She said: "You were seeing this really fascinating, appealing, bizarre tension between the public persona of a celebrity and their mundane experiences at home. You're realising that these things are personas and that all personas are these like elaborate complex mosaics of like who a person is." In the show, the family sat on the sofa, ate dinner and chatted. Ozzy urged his kids not to indulge in alcohol or drugs when they went out. He struggled to find the History Channel on his satellite TV. The family feuded with the neighbours because, of all things, their loud music was driving the Osbournes crazy. In 2002 after just one season, The Osbournes won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Programme. Countless reality TV shows have felt The Osbourne's influence, from The Kardashians to The Baldwins, the industry says. Ms VanArendonk continued: "It's like you have these famous people and now you get to see what their home lives are like, what they are like as parents, what they're eating, what they are taking on with them on vacation, who their pets are, and they are these sort of cuddly, warm, eccentric figures." Tributes have poured in to Ozzy, including one from Sir Elton John. He said: "He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods - a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I've ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love. Elton xx."
