Leanne OTT Release Date: When and where to watch the new comedy series by the ‘Grandmama from Tennessee'
Leanne OTT Release Date: Leanne Morgan, the Southern comedian who stole hearts with her relatable wit and 'mama knows best' charm in her Netflix stand-up I'm Every Woman, is now leading her very own sitcom, Leanne. And yes, it's as Southern, sassy, and sweet as a pecan pie with a punch. Leanne premieres July 31 on Netflix. All 16 episodes of this new comedy series will be available to stream from day one. Here's everything you need to know before it drops. What is Leanne about? At the heart of the show is Leanne, played by Morgan herself, a Southern grandmother whose life takes a sharp left turn when her husband of 33 years walks out on her for another woman. Sounds painful, right? But Leanne turns it into comedy gold. Think less sobbing, more laughter through tears, with a lot of casseroles and unsolicited family advice in between. The character of Leanne leans on her chaotic but loving family as she tries to figure out what's next. Retirement? Dating? Starting over? And she's doing it all with the sass and strength of a woman who's raised kids, made Jell-O salad for every church potluck, and isn't about to let life get the last laugh. Who's in the cast? The cast lineup is as solid as Grandma's meatloaf. Leanne Morgan as Leanne – our leading lady, navigating life post-divorce with humour and heart. Kristen Johnston (Mom, 3rd Rock from the Sun) as Carol, Leanne's loud and wild sister who's more dive bar than Bible study and her fiercest supporter. Graham Rogers (Ray Donovan, The Kominsky Method) as Tyler, Leanne's golden-boy son, juggling fatherhood, a dominant wife, and his mom's drama. Hannah Pilkes as Josie, Leanne's unpredictable daughter who's forever the rebellious middle finger to her brother's golden halo. Ryan Stiles (Whose Line Is It Anyway?) as Bill, Leanne's ex-husband, who traded RV sales and family life for… well, a midlife crisis. Celia Weston as Mama Margaret, the church-going matriarch who somehow always has a casserole and a scripture ready. Blake Clark as Daddy John, the old-school, straight-talking patriarch who may be outdated but means well. Who's behind the scenes? Leanne is co-created by Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, The Kominsky Method) and Susan McMartin (Mom), who know a thing or two about heartfelt family sitcoms with bite. Morgan also serves as co-creator and executive producer, making sure her voice rings true in every scene. The show is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. And if that doesn't scream 'quality sitcom,' nothing does.

Michael Douglas Confirms He's Done With the MCU After Four Films — GeekTyrant
Michael Douglas is officially hanging up the lab coat. After playing Hank Pym in four Marvel movies over nearly a decade, the actor says he's stepping away from the MCU. In a recent interview with Deadline, Douglas made it clear that his Marvel movie chapter has come to a close. When asked whether he might return as the original Ant-Man, he responded: 'I don't think so. I had the experience, and I was excited to do it. I'd never done a green screen picture before. I did The Kominsky Method because I wanted to work with Chuck Lorre and try some comedy. 'But I'm enjoying my hiatus and enjoying my life. It was overwhelming running the production company and acting at the same time.' Douglas first appeared as Hank Pym in Ant-Man (2015), playing mentor to Paul Rudd's Scott Lang. He reprised the role in Ant-Man and the Wasp , briefly Avengers: Endgame , and most recently, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 2023. His character brought a sharp, cranky charm to the series. But, with Quantumania underperforming and the future of the Ant-Man solo series uncertain, Douglas seems content with calling it a day. At 80, he's earned the right to pick his battles and focus on things that bring him joy outside of the Marvel machine. Still, his departure leaves a bit of a gap. Paul Rudd is confirmed to return in Avengers: Doomsday , but with Evangeline Lilly and Kathryn Newton's futures still unannounced, it's unclear how much of the Ant-family we'll see again.

Michael Douglas explains why he's unlikely to return to Marvel Cinematic Universe
Michael Douglas has revealed he's unlikely to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The 80-year-old star played Hank Pym in four MCU movies beginning with Ant-Man in 2015. He returned in 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp, 2019's Avengers: Endgame, and 2023's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. When asked by Deadline whether he has any plans to return to the blockbuster superhero franchise, Douglas responded: 'I don't think so. I had the experience, and I was excited to do it. I'd never done a green screen picture before.' He added that, as he enters his 80s, he's planning to take on fewer acting roles. 'I did the The Kominsky Method because I wanted to work with Chuck Lorre and try some comedy,' he said. 'But I'm enjoying my hiatus and enjoying my life. It was overwhelming running the production company and acting at the same time.' Douglas notably balanced the dual roles of actor and producer throughout his lengthy career, running production companies like Stonebridge Entertainment and Further Films while starring in the movies he made. The Basic Instinct star went on to say that he hasn't completely ruled out a return to acting, but it would only be 'if something good comes up that I really like.' 'I don't feel a burning desire,' he added. 'I'm still producing. I still love bringing people together.' Douglas was speaking ahead of a 50th anniversary Cannes screening of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, which he produced. The film, which stars Jack Nicholson, was a major box office success. Last year, Douglas discovered he is related to one of his Marvel co-stars. The actor, who is the son of three-time Academy Award nominee Kirk Douglas and is married to Best Supporting Actress winner Catherine Zeta-Jones, appeared on an episode of genealogy series Finding Your Roots. At the end of his segment on the episode, Douglas received a surprise from host Henry Louis Gates, who told the Ant-Man actor he is distantly related to one of his Marvel Cinematic universe (MCU) co-stars: Scarlett Johansson. 'Your DNA cousin is the actress Scarlett Johansson,' Gates told the star, who won Best Actor for Wall Street at the 1988 Oscars. Gates added: 'Michael and Scarlett share identical stretches of DNA on four different chromosomes, all of which appear on Scarlett's maternal lines, which stretch back to Jewish communities in eastern Europe.' Visibly surprised, Douglas said: 'Are you kidding? Oh, that's amazing. Alright, this is cool. This is so cool. That's incredible.'

Marvel Star Says He's Done With The MCU
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors Back when Marvel had its five hour "chair" announcement about the cast of "Avengers: Doomsday", it took so long and revealed a cast so massive that it almost feels surprising there were any past Marvel stars who weren't included. But there were plenty of names left out, and one of them was Michael Douglas. According to Douglas, "Avengers: Doomsday" isn't the only future Marvel production you won't see him in; the actor is done with Marvel for good. "I don't think so," Douglas answered. "I had the experience, and I was excited to do it. I'd never done a green screen picture before. DISNEY In fact, the "Ant-Man" star said he's in no particular rush to get back to acting, even though he hasn't said farewell to the profession entirely. Asked if he'll act again, Douglas answered, "Yes, if something good comes up that I really like. But I don't feel a burning desire. I'm still producing. I still love bringing people together." It probably shouldn't be too much of a surprise that Douglas isn't interested in returning to the Marvel Universe. As recalled by ComicBookMovie, the "Romancing the Stone" star actually requested his character be killed off in the last "Ant-Man" feature, "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." "This actually was my request for the third one," Douglas said at the time. "I said I'd like to have a serious [death], with all these great special effects. There's got to be some fantastic way where I can shrink to an ant size and explode, whatever it is. I want to use all those effects. But, that was on the last one." While he may not have spent a lot of time suiting up in super suits, Michael Douglas played an important role in the MCU as Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man and mentor to both Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and his daughter Hope (Evangeline Lily). Douglas starred in all three "Ant-Man" films and also appeared in "Avengers: Endgame".
