The Baltimore Ravens' QB Lamar Jackson asks TE Isaiah Likely to wait on the symbolic Jersey shift
Credits: Getty Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, adds a funny spin to Isaiah Likely's desire to wear the No. 8 jersey, which Jackson currently dons. In a recent podcast appearance, Likely stated his desire for the No. 8 jersey to be passed down to him since the jersey wearer has eyed No. 1 if the Ravens land a Super Bowl win. Given that Likely has his sights set on Jackson's jersey number, the Ravens quarterback's recent message may be a cue to the tight end to hold off. This is what Lamar Jackson had to say about Isaiah Likely's NO.8 jersey want Being two of the most celebrated players in the Ravens, Jackson and Likely share a bond beyond the field. Given the bond between the two, Jackson indirectly dismissing Likely's wish to inherit his jersey number if the team wins the Lombardi Trophy has the fans confused. Likely's aspirations grew for Jackson's No. 8 since it was made clear in 2021 during the Ravens' 'The Lounge' podcast. During the podcast, QB Jackson revealed his wish to have a No. 1 jersey since it aligned perfectly with the number his father would have wanted him to have. The only standing condition for Jackson's No. 1 jersey is a Super Bowl win. In the end, the QB also stated clearly that he will be looking forward to retiring both his jersey numbers when the day comes. Fast-forwarding to today, Jackson posted an Instagram story with a message for the TE referring to the jersey situation that read, 'You know how ppl throw their old shoes on the powerlines, Isaiah? That's wat I want you todo with this idea 🤣🤣hang it tf up.' With a Super Bowl win yet to decide the fate of the jersey numbers of these two players, this playful jab by Jackson did give fans a laugh. Isaiah Likely's jersey goal: Inherit Lamar Jackson's No.8 if the Baltimore Ravens win it all
Credits: Getty The Baltimore Ravens' astounding 247-pound tight end Isaiah Likely revealed his high aspirations to one day inherit the jersey of an MVP, none other than American QB Lamar Jackson. The sole condition that will land this monumental jersey shift is if the Ravens secure the Super Bowl win. If the team wins, Jackson is most likely eyeing another number—specifically, No. 1—in the hopes of seeing this Super Bowl promise come true. The fact that the jersey number swap is contingent upon winning the Super Bowl also indicates the team's desire to win the Lombardi Trophy. Super Bowl aspirations fuel jersey hopes in the Baltimore Ravens Rewinding to 2021, Lamar made an appearance on The Ravens' 'The Lounge' podcast; he laid out his desire to acquire a No. 1 jersey if the Ravens become the Super Bowl champions. The seasoned quarterback for the Ravens said, 'If we win the Super Bowl, I'm going to No. 1. I want the No. 1. That's my first number ever. My dad told me, 'Get No. 1 because that's the best. You're the best.' And it always stuck with me.' The iconic achievements Lamar has forged into NFL history wearing the No. 8 Ravens' jersey have made the 25-year-old Ravens' tight end Likely want it to be passed down to him. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! IC Markets Start Now Undo This recent discovery came to the public eye when Likely's recent remarks on his appearance on the 'Up and Adams show with Kay Adams' podcast were heard. Upon the podcast host's question about Likely's willingness to ever swap his current jersey, No. 80, the Ravens' tight end responded, 'See the vision. If we win, right? When we win, eight is gone. Boom. Switch to one,' Likely said. 'Then I'm going to look at eight and say, 'Look, I think it's time to pass it on. Pass up eight'. I'm going to ask him! I'm like his little brother. It'd be crazy for him to say no. Unless he wants to double retire. ' Isaiah Likely on Lamar's Acting Debut, Bengals in Primetime, Missed Tackle Rate, Week 1 vs Bills The sad thing is that, as aspirational as this may sound, Jackson was very clear during the 2021 podcast that he would retire the numbers 8 and 1 when he departs from the NFL. Despite Jackson's words in 2021, it will not be surprising if Jackson passes down No. 8 to a worthy player like Isaiah Likely. Rev is sold out, but here's how to get a taste of the Month of May kickoff event
IndyCar drivers Christian Lundgaard and Nolan Siegel hopped out from behind the wheel and into the kitchen at The Lounge on Monday to help chef Michael Pleines prepare for Rev — one of the Month of May's biggest non-racing events. Why it matters: Rev is the IU Health Foundation's largest annual fundraiser. It's raised more than $13 million since 2014 for statewide trauma and critical care programs, including those for drivers and patrons at the IU Health Emergency Medical Center located at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Plus: This means May — the best month of the year in the Circle City — is just around the corner. Driving the news: Lundgaard and Siegel, both drivers for the Arrow McLaren team, joined Pleines to craft the Hygge Mac, which will be on the Rev menu. The dish of mac and cheese with seared pork belly is a nod to Lundgaard's Danish heritage. "'Hygge' means cozy," Lundgaard said, "and 'mac' … I have no idea." The food-focused (and sold-out) gala on May 3 at the IMS track will feature dishes from 89 chefs this year. Yes, Rev is sold out, but: You can still try the Hygge Mac. It'll be available at The Lounge, the Conrad Hotel's newest restaurant, for the Month of May. You might catch Siegel there grabbing another taste of it. While most drivers stick to a strict diet, the 20-year-old was ordered to gain weight, putting on 15 pounds in the offseason. "IndyCar is super physical," Siegel said. "Putting on some mass has been a focus for me, so I'm very excited about the mac and cheese." Zoom in: Lundgaard is in his fourth season in the NTT IndyCar Series and his first with Arrow McLaren. His best start at the Indy 500 has been 28th, but he hopes to have a better time qualifying this year with the new team. "Winning the Indianapolis 500 changes your life forever," he said. "So we all want to win it." This is Siegel's first full season with IndyCar. What they're saying:"Indy is special for everyone," Siegel said. "Every race is important and we're very focused on doing the best we can everywhere and being competitive in the championship … but the Indy 500 is the headline event for IndyCar."

Chuck Pagano heaps massive praise onto Kyle Hamilton
Chuck Pagano is undoubtedly one of the more colorful characters in the NFL coaching fraternity. Part of the reason for that is his penchant for prolific prose. He loves to publicly praise his players. After five years away from the league and 15 years apart from the Baltimore Ravens, Pagano returns as the Senior Secondary Coach. Pagano looks to revamp and revitalize a unit that spent most of this past season last or next to last in passing yards allowed. Kyle Hamilton is an elite building block for Pagano to work around. The All-Pro's strong safety is the team's "Swiss army knife;" he can do it all at multiple positions. Pagano provided hype that sounded like it belonged in a summer blockbuster action movie trailer. "He's an avatar, man. He's a freak," Pagano said while appearing on the team's official podcast The Lounge. "He's unbelievable, his length, his speed, his size, his coverage for a safety, like he can cover slot receivers. It doesn't matter who it is. Like there's no panic when you watch him out there. It doesn't matter if they got him at nickel, big nickel, safety, dime, from a mental standpoint, he knows all that. He's a great communicator." Hamilton does not have a nickname yet, so maybe "The Avatar" fits? And maybe what Pagano said here isn't really that much of hype after all? The Ravens' defensive player, Mt. Rushmore, still needs a fourth member. Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Terrell Suggs are the obvious first three, and there is potential for Hamilton to someday develop into the kind of player that could join them in that elite pantheon. When it comes time to extend his current contract, it is widely thought that he will reset the market's safety position. Hamilton, 23, is entering his fourth season in the league after going 14th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame. He was first-team All-Pro in 2023 and second-team All-Pro last season. However, his best football could still be in front of him. This article originally appeared on Ravens Wire: Chuck Pagano refers to Ravens star safety Kyle Hamilton as "an avatar"
