Star Wars actress Katee Sackhoff promises series return amid The Mandalorian and Grogu rumours
Katee Sackhoff has promised that her 'Star Wars' character Bo-Katan Kryze will appear again in the future. The 45-year-old actress portrayed the Mandalorian warrior in TV shows like 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars', 'Star Wars: Rebels' and 'The Mandalorian', and has now confirmed fans haven't seen the end of the character. Speaking to Screen Rant, Sackhoff said: "You will see her again in some form. That's all you need to know. [Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer] Dave Filoni cannot get rid of me, because Bo-Katan is based off of his wife, so I've got some job security." Bo-Katan had been rumoured to be involved in 'The Mandalorian and Grogu', though Sackhoff insisted she "has not been in the armour in 2025". Even so, the character may still appear in the upcoming movie, as filming for 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' wrapped in December last year. As well as Sackhoff, Giancarlo Esposito - who portrayed Moff Gideon in 'The Mandalorian' - recently teased his 'Star Wars' villain may return in some capacity in the future. He told Empire magazine: "There is a big movie coming out that's focusing on Mando and The Child. I can't say it'll be that. "But I hope to be able to join that franchise again, because I think there's more road for Moff Gideon." The 'Breaking Bad' actor, 67, also said he believed 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' could be the start of a new 'Star Wars' trilogy. Speaking at Dragon Con, he said: "As in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Disney will figure out how to join all of these characters into one really great movie or TV show. That's my sense of where it will go. "Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have a new vision, continuing on with a 'Mandalorian' movie. My sense is that it's all going to converge at one point or another and we're going to have another set of… [a] trilogy, or more, of films." 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' will see Pedro Pascal reprise his role as the titular warrior alongside Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White in another galaxy-spanning adventure. While 'The Mandalorian' will finally be making its cinematic debut with 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' next year, Jon Favreau - who co-directed and co-wrote the show and movie with Filoni - admitted he "felt disappointed" the sub-franchise couldn't initially be shared on the big screen. He told Collider: "The big difference is the amount of construction you can do. "The process is so long compared to television that you can plan, look at it, discuss, use multiple stages, indoor and outdoor sets, do construction, you can do stop-motion. There are a lot of things that you have an opportunity to do because of the timeframe that you would never be able to do to the same extent on a small screen. "Although I'm very proud, I have to say that whenever we looked at the stuff that we made for the show, or in an environment where we shared it with fans, it always felt cinematic. "I felt disappointed that we couldn't share it with more people that way."

‘In James Gunn we trust': ‘Superman' behind-the-scenes footage shows off Metamorpho and Hawkgirl
Superman is the most important movie of 2025 — or at least the movie with the highest stakes riding on it. As the first film from James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Studios regime, it's a hard relaunch of an entire franchise that will serve as a referendum on the superhero genre as a whole. In success, it will kick off a decade of movies and shows that will finally make DC a viable Marvel competitor. If it fails... well, it can't fail. A new behind-the-scenes look at the film (watch above) released on Superman Day on April 18 — the 87th anniversary of the publication of the Man of Steel's debut in Action Comics No. 1 — makes a compelling case for being excited for Superman, which premieres this summer. More from GoldDerby 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' crashes 'Star Wars' Celebration: Everything we learned about upcoming feature film 'Death Becomes Her' star Jennifer Simard is ready to be a leading lady: 'I don't feel pressure, I feel joy' Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Jon Bernthal and every 'Daredevil: Born Again' Emmy acting submission In the clip, writer-director Gunn, producer Safran, and cast members including David Corenswet (Superman/Clark Kent), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), and Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner/Green Lantern) discuss the making of the film, and what it means for truth, justice, and the American way. Gunn talks about trying to crack the story for years before finding a way into the character that resonated with him. "This character is noble, and he's beautiful," Gunn says, over footage of a camera on a massive jib swooping down to shoot Corenswet as he lays in the snow at the start of the scene that premiered at CinemaCon, where Krypto the Super Dog rescues Superman and drags him to the Fortress of Solitude. "We love the opportunity to play with the incredible library of DC characters and stories, and we really want to do justice for them," Safran says, over of the clearest looks at Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced) and Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan) released to date. DC Studios/Warner Bros. DC Studios/Warner Bros. There's some very cool footage of Lois Lane and Perry White (Wendell Pierce) walking through the office of the Daily Planet and other action scenes on real locations with real practical effects, not just on an empty soundstage that will be filled in with CGI (though there is some of that, to be sure). There's also a fun moment where Corenswet, in costume as Superman, explains to Lex Luthor portrayer Nicholas Hoult how Superman wears his trunks on the outside of his pants. "It's liberating," he jokes. Gunn and the actors then talk about how this version of Superman is full of hope and heart and goodness. "He saves people because it's the right thing to do," Brosnahan says. "We could use a little bit more of that." "This is the beginning of the future," says Edi Gathegi, who plays Mr. Terrific. "They are launching a new era, right now," adds Fillion. "In James Gunn we trust, and I think we can do it," Brosnahan says. Warner Bros. is putting a lot of trust in Gunn, who previously made the Guardians of the Galaxy movies for Marvel and is creatively in charge of the whole DC slate. Superman will be followed by a number of other DC movies and shows, with movies Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and Clayface and TV series Lanterns in production for 2026 release dates. If nothing else, the behind the scenes featurette gives a sense of the scale of Superman's production and how confident the filmmakers are in it. Superman opens in theaters on July 11. Director Jon Favreau, Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver took the stage at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo today to show off more footage from their upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu. For some time, all we knew is that the new movie will bring the bounty hunter and baby Yoda on a standalone mission. More from Deadline 'Star Wars: Starfighter': Shawn Levy, Ryan Gosling Reveal Details & Premiere Date For New Film - Star Wars Celebration 'Andor's Denise Gough Teases Bad Romance For Dedra & Syril In Season 2: "Her Boyfriend Is The Empire!" Diego Luna On Saying Goodbye To Cassian Andor In Season 2: "It's Sad, It's Painful, But Also I Know How Lucky I Am" In the new footage, Weaver's character is teased, along with some action-packed battle scenes against stormtroopers. Fans also get a first glimpse at Jeremy Allen White as Jabba's son Rotta the Hutt. The last time we caught footage of movie which isn't due for release until May 22, 2026 was at D23 in Anaheim back in August. That clip showed the return of The Empire Strikes Back's AT-ATs stomping in the snow, the crazy voiced tiny alien tech Babu Frick from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and red alien, pointy eared Zeb from Filoni's animated series Star Wars: Rebels. The Mandalorian and Grogu is the first Star Wars feature since Rise of Skywalker six years ago. Originally Lucasfilm had a plan to do standalone movies based on core canon characters, but with the tanking of Solo: A Star Wars Story, they pivoted, expanding the Star Wars universe on Disney+ and significantly taking a more patient approach to developing future Star Wars movies. Colleen Hoover's ‘Verity' Sets May 2026 Release at Amazon MGM Studios
'Verity' has set a date. Amazon MGM Studios will roll out the Colleen Hoover adaptation, starring Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, on May 15, 2026. The official synopsis for the adaptation reads: 'Struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh is hired as a ghostwriter for renowned author Verity Crawford under mysterious circumstances, but her assignment takes a dark turn after discovering chilling autobiographical notes. Faced with a series of deadly family secrets, Lowen struggles to separate fiction from reality, while also blurring the lines with Verity's husband, Jeremy.' The adaptation was written by Nick Antosca (prior writers on the project include Hoover adn Lauren Levine, Hillary Seitz, Angela LaManna, and Will Honley and April Maguire), produced by Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Stacey Sher, Showalter, Jordana Mollick, Hathaway and Hoover. It was executive produced by Johnson, Levine and Kerry Orent. The cast for 'Verity' also includes Ismael Cruz Cordóva and Brady Wagner. An adaptation of Hoover's novel 'It Ends With Us' opened last summer from Sony and made more than $350 million worldwide. The placement of 'Verity' for next spring serves as a clever bit of counterprogramming, since the other two titles announced for May definitely skew more male: Marvel Studios' 'Avengers: Doomsday,' which currently has a release date of May 1, 2026; and Lucasfilm's 'The Mandalorian and Grogu,' which is the first big screen 'Star Wars' project since 2019's underwhelming 'The Rise of Skywalker.'
