Private Security, Cocaine: How Crypto Kingpins Controlled New York City Nightlife

John Woeltz and William Duplessie, the two men arrested for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting Italian tourist Michael Valentino. Teofrasto Carturan once brought a freezer bag full of cocaine and hired four private security guards to keep everything under control at New York's high-end clubs. Mr Woeltz and Mr Duplessie hung Mr Carturan off a roof ledge, shocked him with electrical wires and attacked him with a chainsaw to force him to reveal the password of his Bitcoin wallet, reportedly valued at $30 million. Before they were arrested and charged with kidnapping with intent to collect ransom, assault, and unlawful imprisonment, the two men used Charlie Zakkour, a former club promoter, to get into exclusive clubs, said two women who partied with them. One of the women claimed that Mr Zakkour reached out to her, saying he knew some wealthy crypto people staying at the Mercer Hotel who wanted to spend $30,000 at a popular lounge called Paul's Baby Grand, according to The NY Post. Describing the scene, she said Mr William poured the entire bag full of cocaine onto a metal tray and casually walked away. She mentioned it was crazy because the amount of cocaine was worth the cost of her college tuition fee or even more. Another woman told The NY Post that she met these crypto traders in April at Mr Woeltz's rented townhouse in Soho after she was invited by an organiser from The Box club. These promoters pulled her, along with other girls, into a big van and took them to the exclusive party, she said. There was security everywhere, and a girl was checking coats at the entrance. She claimed, "I've never seen anything like that. Workers were serving the food and drinks — Don Julio 1942 and Grey Goose," Ms Woeltz added. The woman said she left the party after about an hour because she felt they were rude and didn't bother to have a conversation. "There was no politeness, there was no small talk. I felt like a piece of meat," she alleged. One of the sources told The NY Post that she stopped hanging out with them because she found them suspicious, but by then, the two had already gained access to popular clubs like Nebula, Hearsay and The Box. She mentioned, "I cut them off. Just because the vibes were off. It felt shady." They added, "I really regretted putting them onto the people and the places I know after I couldn't escape them anywhere."

Three huge asteroids could hit Earth, and a group of astronomers is sounding the alarm. They could cause destruction on a scale never seen before. These asteroids are almost invisible because of the sun's glare. Scientists say that three asteroids are orbiting Venus and could hit Earth in a matter of weeks because their paths are unstable. On Camera, Pigeons Cause Chaos On US Flight Carrying 119 Passengers

New Delhi: Two pigeons on board a Delta flight, scheduled to fly from Madison to Minneapolis, caused chaos and delay. The Delta Flight 2348 with 119 passengers and five crew members on board was all set to take off when a bird was spotted flapping around the cabin to passengers' utter shock. A video, shared on Instagram, shows a pigeon flying above the passengers' heads. A man stood in the aisle to capture the fluttering bird with his jacket while others screamed in the background. Tom Caw, a flyer, explained that the pigeon in the video was the second of the two on the Wisconsin-bound plane. Describing the incident, Mr Caw said he boarded Delta Flight 2348 at MSP airport when he overheard someone tell a flight attendant there was a pigeon inside the plane half an hour ago. The captain then made an announcement confirming a pigeon was on board and that he had no experience dealing with it. So, the baggage handlers came to the rescue and caught the pigeon. He said, "Baggage handlers boarded and carried the pigeon off. People applauded. A young girl asked if she could pet it." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tom Caw (@cawtom) But that wasn't it. As the plane moved, a second pigeon emerged, causing more delay. Mr Caw, in his Instagram post, said, "This is my video of it flying through the cabin. It was caught, and we returned to the gate." The pilot contacted the control tower and informed them about the pigeon inside the plane. "Pilot said when he radioed the control tower about us coming back due to a pigeon, the guy said that was a first for him, to which pilot jokingly told him that it was his second, the first being half an hour ago," Mr Caw wrote. He added that another baggage holder came and removed the pigeon, which was still alive. Mr Caw sarcastically said that pigeons were probably tired of flying and were looking for snacks. They didn't know that Delta's short flight to Madison doesn't offer any snacks or beverages, he said. The video quickly went viral, with people unable to stop joking about the incident. One user commented, "We got pigeons on a plane before GTA 6." Another commented, "Good thing, no one freaked out." "The pigeons overheard a passenger talking about a popcorn festival in Madison," wrote another. The flight was delayed by 56 minutes. The Delta Airlines spokeswoman confirmed the incident and appreciated "the careful actions of our people and our customers," as reported by The NY Post.

Chinese Paraglider's Narrow Escape From Cloud Vortex At 26,400 Feet

New Delhi: A Chinese paraglider narrowly escaped death after being sucked into a cloud vortex. He was pulled high into the sky and ended up stuck about 26,400 ft above the ground. Describing the incident, Liu Ge said he was trapped in freezing temperatures of around -40 degrees Fahrenheit when he was flying above the Qilian Shan mountains in northern China on Saturday. He claimed he was pulled upward into the sky, known as cloud suction, shortly after he jumped off a mountain, which was about 9,850 ft above sea level, The NY Post reported. But I kept communicating via the… — Unlimited L's (@unlimited_ls) May 27, 2025 Due to oxygen deficiency, Liu said he had trouble breathing and his hands were freezing cold. "I just kept communicating over the radio the entire time," he added. Liu told that he didn't have an oxygen mask and his face and clothes were covered in ice. Reports said he was sucked to high altitudes and hung on tightly to his harness. He also claimed that due to the freezing temperatures, he got severe frostbite. Liu further said he stayed conscious all the time and managed to land safely. An experienced paraglider, surnamed Ou, told Global Times that not many can survive such high altitude. He said people bring cold-weather gear even when they go paragliding at about 6,500 ft high. So, at 28,000 ft, the temperature gets really cold, which makes it difficult to breathe. According to the news outlet, authorities have launched an investigation because air traffic authorities hadn't approved his flight plan after he failed to file the necessary paperwork. Chinese national aviation sports regulations state that even if a paraglider has a valid license, they are supposed to obtain prior airspace approval from air traffic control. Paragliding flights are banned above 16,405 ft under Chinese regulations.
