Calling it the lowest phase of his life, Karan admitted that he needed to be strong for his mother, Hiroo Johar. KJo remembered that he was 31 when his father passed away after being diagnosed with 4th-stage cancer. In a podcast with Raj Samani, the renowned director said, 'My father's death. I was 31 when he passed away. He was very active and healthy. He was diagnosed with 4th-stage cancer. He had a tumour in his oesophagus. It started spreading, and he had only 10 months after diagnosis. He passed away in 2004." While it was the toughest phase of his life, Karan Johar felt that he needed to be strong for his mother. The My Name Is Khan director said, 'At that time, I felt I needed to be strong for my mother. Agar mai bikhar jaunga toh mummy ka kya hoga. She was only 62 when my father passed away. They had a 10-year age gap. She was relatively young for this big loss. It was very tough for me to be tough, but I had to be." Karan Johar further revealed that he had a major breakdown after three years. 'I still feel I am wounded by the death of my father. I still get emotional when I miss him. I feel that when you lose a parent, you gain a god. Uss god ka chehra aapko dikh jaata hai, aur mere liye woh chehra mere father hai. Mere bhagwan mere pita hai. I talk to him regularly. You can call it prayer; I call it communication. I fight with him, haq hai mera. I negotiate with him as well. I talk to him in the morning and at night," he says. The 52-year-old filmmaker recalled that he had gone to watch the film The Namesake in Toronto. It was an opening night, and he wept a lot at the end of the film. 'I walked to the hotel while crying. I kept crying for 2 hours. I broke down, but after that, I felt relieved. I felt like somebody had taken a burden away from me. Aansu kabhi khudgarz nahi hone chahiye, unhe baahar nikalne chahiye. Babil Khan posts sweet childhood pic with dad Irrfan Khan on his 5th death anniversary; pens heartfelt poem
Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan left a void behind when he died five years ago on April 29. His son, actor Babil Khan, wrote a heartfelt poem and posted a sweet childhood picture on Instagram in memory of his father. Here's what he wrote. Babil posted a picture that showed Irrfan all smiles as Babil leaned on his shoulder and posed for a picture. Dressed in T-shirts and wearing sunglasses, Babil and Irrfan hold hands as they look into the camera. The caption for the post reads, 'With you, without you. Life goes on, With me, without me. Soon I'll be there. With you, not without you. And we will run together, and fly, Drink from waterfalls, pink not blue. I will hug you so tight, and I will cry, Then we'll laugh, just like we used to. I miss you.' A post shared by Babil (@babil.i.k) Fans left supportive comments under the post, with many leaving heart emojis for Babil. His last films were the 2020 film Angrezi Medium and the 2021 film Murder at Teesri Manzil 302, which was released posthumously. In 2018, Irrfan announced on Twitter that he was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer. After receiving treatment in the UK, he returned to India in 2019. Four days after his mother, Saeeda Begum, died in Jaipur, Irrfan died on April 29 while receiving treatment for a colon infection. One of his sons, Babil, followed in his father's footsteps and became an actor, debuting with the 2022 film Qala. He was most recently seen in Logout.
