Musk says to remain 'friend and advisor' to Trump
Trump (right) dismissed criticism of Musk's role in government and gave him more power. Photo EFE Billionaire Elon Musk said Friday he would remain a "friend and advisor" to Donald Trump, as the US president hosted an Oval Office farewell for the man who led his turbulent cost-cutting drive. "I look forward to continuing to be a friend and advisor to the president," Musk told reporters after Trump handed a golden key as a gift to the departing leader of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk, clad in a black T-shirt and jacket and wearing a baseball cap as he stood next to the seated Trump, said he would keep supporting the team that is "relentlessly pursuing a trillion dollars in waste" in reductions that will "benefit the American taxpayer." He complained about how he has been portrayed, saying: "We became, like, essentially the DOGE bogeyman, where any cut anywhere would be ascribed to DOGE." Musk, the world's richest person, has said he is stepping back from his role at the White House to focus on his companies, which include Tesla, SpaceX and social media platform X. His formal exit comes after a bombshell report in The New York Times on his alleged drug use. The newspaper said that Musk used so much ketamine during the 2024 campaign that he developed bladder problems and that he was also taking ecstasy and psychoactive mushrooms, and traveled with a pill box last year. Musk was immediately asked about the report. He did not reply directly and instead denounced The New York Times over its previous coverage of Russian interference in the 2016 election before moving to the next question. DOGE under Musk's guidance has slashed billions of dollars in government spending, much of it already approved by Congress, including eviscerating the main US agency delivering foreign aid.

Elon Musk Fathered Secret Child With Japanese Pop Star: 'Willing To Give Sperm To Anyone...'
Last Updated: Ashley St. Clair, who says she also had a child with Musk, claimed he told her he had fathered children 'around the world,' including one with an unnamed Japanese singer Elon Musk, billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is facing fresh controversy after a bombshell New York Times report alleging drug use and claiming he secretly fathered a child with a Japanese pop star. According to the report, published on May 30, conservative commentator Ashley St. Clair, who says she also had a child with Musk, claimed he told her he had fathered children 'around the world," including one with an unnamed Japanese singer. St. Clair said Musk told her he would give his 'sperm to anyone" who wanted to have a baby. 'He made it seem like it was just his altruism and he generally believed these people should just have children," she told the publication. St. Clair alleged that she gave birth in September last year and claimed Musk wanted to keep both their relationship and the child a secret. She said he contacted her via disappearing messages on Signal. Despite attending Trump's election night event at Mar-a-Lago with Musk, she said she had to pretend they barely knew each other. The New York Times also reported that Musk offered her $15 million and $100,000 a month until the child turned 21 in exchange for her silence. She later rejected the deal, sued Musk to acknowledge paternity, and demanded child support. Musk responded by seeking a gag order, citing safety concerns. Musk, 53, is known for promoting population growth and has fathered 14 children with various partners. The report comes at a time when Musk has just announced his exit from involvement with the White House to focus on his businesses. The New York Times said Musk used large amounts of ketamine, causing bladder problems. He also reportedly took ecstasy and magic mushrooms and travelled with a pill box. At his farewell in the Oval Office on Friday, Musk was asked about the drug allegations but did not respond directly. Instead, he criticised the newspaper for its past coverage of Russian interference in the 2016 election before moving on to the next question. First Published: May 31, 2025, 08:25 IST

Musk Melts Down at NYT Over Drug Use Report
Elon Musk has lashed out at a bombshell report claiming he was taking so much ketamine that it was affecting his bladder. In a detailed article on Friday based on multiple unnamed sources, The New York Times accused the Tesla boss of abusing drugs on the 2024 campaign trail, just as he was ramping up his bid to get Donald Trump re-elected. According to the report, Musk, who once admitted to using ketamine, a general anesthetic, for therapeutic reasons, had been taking so much of the substance that it started to damage his bladder. Sources claimed he was also using ecstasy and hallucinogenic mushrooms, and was known to travel with a pill box that contained the ADHD drug Adderall. During a press conference to mark the 'official' end of Musk's DOGE appointment, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked the tech billionaire about The New York Times report, saying that it 'accuses you of blurring the line between —' Musk, visibly unimpressed, interjected before the full question came out. 'Is The New York Times the same publication that got a Pulitzer Prize for false reporting on the Russiagate? Is it the same organization?' he said, turning to Trump, who was sitting next to him behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. 'I think it is,' Musk said. ' I think the judge just ruled against The New York Times for their lies about the Russiagate hoax and that they might have to give back that Pulitzer Prize. That New York Times? Let's move on! Okay, next question?' Musk was referencing a court case in which Trump had sued the Pulitzer board for refusing to take back the journalism prize it had awarded The New York Times and The Washington Post for their coverage of Russian interference in his 2016 election campaign. Trump scored a win in the case on Wednesday after a Florida judge ruled that his lawsuit could proceed. 'We are holding the Fake News Media responsible for their LIES to the American People, so we can, together, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!' the president posted after the Wednesday ruling.

President Donald Trump said he is not aware of Elon Musk using drugs during the 2024 presidential campaign, responding to a media report on the billionaires' alleged drug use. The New York Times, citing unnamed sources, reported that Musk frequently used drugs such as ketamine, ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms while campaigning with Trump in 2024. The paper said it was unclear whether Musk used drugs while working for Trump in the Department of Government Efficiency. Trump spoke to reporters May 30 after returning from a rally in Pennsylvania. He denied any knowledge of drug use by Musk and called him "fantastic." Asked if he was troubled by the report, Trump said: "I'm not troubled by anything with Elon." But Musk dodged the question and criticized the New York Times' reporting on Russian interference in the 2016 election. "Let's move on," Musk said, standing behind the president at the Resolute Desk.
