This Morning presenter Dermot O'Leary celebrated his birthday during Friday's show This Morning viewers were taken aback as they discovered Dermot O'Leary's age as he celebrated his birthday on Friday (May 23). As the show kicked off, presenter Alison Hammond announced that Dermot would be turning 52 tomorrow and that the festivities would span the entire programme. "We're gonna be dancing into the bank holiday because, guess what? It's a certain someone's birthday this weekend. Who is it? I have no idea," Alison joked. "Am I allowed to say how old you are?" she then inquired, to which Dermot responded: "Well, you're going to say it anyway because you love the fact that I am older than you." Alison went on: "He is an incredible, unbelievable, I mean he doesn't look it but he's 52 years old," reports Wales Online. "We are dancing into the weekend," she declared as they began twirling to Yazz and The Plastic Population's 1988 anthem, The Only Way Is Up. Alison then disclosed that she had picked out a special tune for her colleague. "This is just for you because I love you very much. This song is for you, go for it," she said before Carly Simon's You're So Vain filled the studio. "Thanks everybody," Dermot chuckled as he mockingly took bows towards each camera. "That's my favourite thing that you do, it makes me laugh. Literally, he comes into the studio and takes a bow for everyone before he starts the show, absolutely love it," Alison said. Dermot shared that he hadn't made extensive plans for his birthday weekend, although he contemplated taking a short holiday. "I mean, it's a really big one, 52 and all," Alison quipped, as Dermot responded: "Lovely thing is, you're just right behind me." Wrapping up their exchange, Alison said: "I hope you have a lovely day. Obviously I'm not going to be with you, I'm gutted it's not your birthday today but I'm gonna make it your birthday today." This Morning's audience was taken aback after discovering Dermot's age, with several viewers taking to social media to express their astonishment.
