Premier League's 10 most valuable players as only ONE Liverpool star makes cut

The CIES Football Observatory have revealed the most valuable players in the Premier League, but only one Liverpool player has managed to get into the top ten despite the Reds winning the title The Premier League 's top 10 most valuable players have been revealed, with Ryan Gravenberch the only Liverpool star making the list despite Arne Slot 's men romping to the title last season. The Reds cruised to victory after seeing off nearest rivals Arsenal by one point and had a series of standout players who inspired their triumph. The CIES Football Observatory list revealed that the Dutchman had come in at number nine with a value of £82million. ‌ The next two highest Liverpool players finished just outside of the top ten, with Dominik Szoboszlai coming 11th - just below Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson - with a value of £79m, while Cody Gakpo was 12th with a value of £77.6m. ‌ Further down the list, Alexis Mac Allister came in at 21st as the Argentine midfielder was valued at £67.4m. Liverpool will feel hard done by given they had a number of starring displays across the season, though star man Mohamed Salah won't have been included because he is about to turn 33. The highest-valued Premier League player, by some distance, was Manchester City's Erling Haaland. The Norwegian was rated at a whopping £201.6m after his incredible impact at the Etihad to score 121 goals in 142 games. Haaland was far ahead of his next nearest rival in the Premier League as Chelsea's Cole Palmer was valued in second at £106.5m following two superb seasons with the Blues. The top five was rounded off by Arsenal's Bukayo Saka (£96.9m), Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers (£96.1m) and Newcastle's Alexander Isak (£86.7m). The rest of the top ten was filled up by Manchester City duo Savinho and Josko Gvardiol - both valued at £84m - and Arsenal's Declan Rice at the same price. ‌ Looking at the overall value table for every player in Europe, the only player who found themselves above Haaland was Barcelona's 17-year-old starlet Lamine Yamal. He was valued at a stunning £338.7m. Jude Bellingham was also high up in the standings, coming third behind Haaland with a value of £196.8m. The England star trumped his Real Madrid team-mate Kylian Mbappe, who was rated at £162m. Below him in fifth was Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala (£130.3m), while Vinicius Jr (£109.7m) was at seventh. Palmer was just below Vinicius in eighth, while former Manchester City star Julian Alvarez (£106m) and Liverpool-bound Florian Wirtz (£102.9m) completed the top ten.

Every Premier League team's prize money earned as final standings confirmed

All 20 Premier League clubs are set to bank a share of around £2.84billion in prize money this season and that amount has now been finalised following the final games of the season The Premier League is now officially over and all 20 clubs are set to receive their annual prize money payout. Last season, clubs were paid a share of £2.84billion from the league and received a total of six payments from their 'central revenue system'. The league says this "ensures the most equitable distribution of funds of any major European league" and each club is sent to bank more than £100m as a result. Liverpool will earn the most after winning the league in Arne Slot's first season in charge. ‌ Last season's winners Manchester City banked a total of £175.9m and runners-up Arsenal earned £175.5m. Some payments are fixed, with all 20 clubs receiving an equal share of domestic and international broadcast rights which totalled £86.9m last season. ‌ Each club was also paid £8.2m from the league's central commercial revenue streams. Clubs then receive merit payments based on their league finish and facility fees based on how often one of their games was televised during the season. Last season, City received a total of £56.4m for winning the league. Arsenal, though, were the most televised club and banked an additional £26.9m. Sheffield United earned a basic merit payment of £2.8m for finishing bottom of the league last season, with the money distributed on a sliding scale. The champions received 20 times the basic payment, the runners-up received 19 times the basic payment and so on. Those figures will roughly be the same for this season, but the total amount will not be confirmed until the league releases their annual report which will break down exactly how much each club received. The Premier League is the richest league in world football, with Deloitte's latest annual review of football finance revealing that the 20 clubs generated more than £6bn in revenue for the first time in the 2022-23 campaign. ‌ What each Premier League club will earn based on their finish 1st (Liverpool) – £56.4m 2nd (Arsenal) – £53.5m 3rd (Manchester City) – £50.7m ‌ 4th ( Chelsea) – £47.9m 5th (Newcastle) – £45.1m 6th ( Aston Villa) – £42.2m ‌ 7th ( Nottingham Forest) – £39.4m 8th ( Brighton) – £36.7m 9th (Bournemouth) – £33.8m ‌ 10th (Brentford) – £31m 11th ( Fulham) – £28.2m 12th ( Crystal Palace) – £25.4m ‌ 13th ( Everton) – £22.5m 14th ( West Ham) – £19.7m 15th ( Manchester United) – £16.9m ‌ 16th ( Wolves) – £14m 17th (Tottenham Hotspur) – £11.3m 18th ( Leicester) – £8.5m 19th (Ipswich) – £5.7m

'People laughed at our Premier League ambitions - but we weren't kidding' says Wrexham AFC's Ryan Reynolds

Making a very public display of affection at Wrexham AFC's promotion celebrations at the weekend were Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively. After Saturday's match, which saw the club win a historic third successive promotion to reach the Championship, both took to Instagram to share what the club means to them. In a jubilant post, Ryan voiced his love for the city, admitting he 'feels at home here' and comparing the stadium to a 'church'. Along a series of celebratory photos, he described his pride in the club and how he agreed with the sentiment that Welsh people have the 'heart of a poet and the fist of a fighter'. Referring to those who doubted his and Rob McElhenney's Premier League ambitions, the Hollywood A-lister said no one was laughing any more. He wrote: 'We've been with Wrexham for what seems like the blink of an eye, but so much has happened. I remember the first press conference, we were asked what our goals were… and I think Rob jumped in with, 'The Premier League'. People laughed. They had every right to. It seemed insane… But we weren't kidding. 'I feel at home here. It's a place that values community, decency and history. From the respect it pays to the Gresford Disaster, to the feeling of hope and miracles created by Mickey Thomas. 'These are big reasons Wrexham is growing into what it always was. It isn't just a place with a history of ups and downs, it's also a FEELING. And a feeling is sometimes as good or better than a memory." Ryan and Rob's Wrexham AFC takeover launched an adventure which has seen the club leapfrog from non-league to the Championship via an unprecedented run of two back-to-back promotions. Saturday's 3-0 win against Charlton Athletic at the Stok Cae Ras stadium was the cue for wild celebrations as Wrexham AFC climbed into English football's second tier for the first time in 43 years. Ryan continued: 'We made history. We've been promoted for a record third time in a row. That doesn't happen without the wisdom of Phil Parkinson and his coaching staff, or the talent of Paul Mullin. 'It doesn't happen without Max Cleworth and Arthur Okonkwo. Or Mark Howard who may have one of the hardest jobs there is. I watched Sam Smith create a frightening blend between football and martial arts, scoring our second goal yesterday. 'The stadium feels like a church. I know so many of you now. Since February, 2021, I've watched babies become regulars. And some regulars depart us for good. 'We've had the honour to scatter ashes of loved ones across that field. I've even watched every available hand shovel snow off the pitch to keep a match from cancellation." Finishing his tribute, he wrote: 'Somebody said the Welsh have the 'heart of a poet and the fist of a fighter'. That's what I love about this place. I wish the whole world could visit Wrexham. Diolch.' During and after the match, Ryan, 48, and wife Blake could be seen cuddling and cheering in the stands. She later shared an Instagram post indicating she is now just as emotionally invested in Wrexham AFC as her husband. Ryan previously revealed his decision to buy 'half of a fifth-tier national football league [club] in Wales' didn't initially sit too well with his wife. But judging by her post, all is now forgiven. The Gossip Girl actress, 37, even joined the team after the final whistle as the players hugged each other in celebration. Applauding Wrexham AFC, she described how she now feels part of one big family. She wrote: 'Thank you to the entire town, everyone who flew in far and wide, and to everyone on the field and off, from groundskeepers to stewards, gift shop to PT, kit managers to self-elected chant writers. History was made yesterday not just with you, but because of you. 'I'll always appreciate the warmth and embrace that you give me and my loved ones, in a way usually reserved for family. Your passion and the ferocity of your joy is the magic. Thank you for an unforgettable day. And for being a key part of our lives every day. 'Congratulations to the entire team, their families and the one and only Phil Parkinson. You show us all that impossible dreams really can come true.' Still basking in the glow of success, Blake saluted the Wrexham AFC women's team, describing how one of the day's highlights was the sight of scores of girls on the pitch wearing Wrexham AFC shirts. She also saluted Rob and Ryan as her 'favorite crazy ones, misfits, rebels, troublemakers, round pegs in the square holes... ones who see things differently'. She added: 'Thank you for the community and elation you bring me, your family's and so many.' After Wrexham's victory, Blake posted a photo of her husband embracing co-owner Rob in the stands, adding a gushing tribute to the pair. She wrote: 'To these two men... the love and respect that pours out of you each and together exponentially grows and creates more joy, more possibilities, more magic, more history. 'This picture feels to me like a painting of all you do for so many for being so present and appreciative of every moment.' Ryan Reynolds on ‘history' at Wrexham as Welsh club seals third promotion in a row

Wrexham AFC, co-owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have secured a historic promotion to the Championship, moving them one step closer to their ambitious Premier League dream. The club won promotion from League One with a decisive 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic at the SToK Racecourse on Saturday, a match witnessed by the celebrity owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds. He shared: "We've been with Wrexham for what seems like the blink of an eye, but so much has happened. "I remember the first press conference, we were asked what our goals were… and I think Rob jumped in with, 'The PremierLeague.' People laughed. They had every right to. It seemed insane… But we weren't kidding." The Deadpool actor added he feels at 'home' in Wrexham, which he sees as a 'place that values community, decency and history'. He cited their 'respect' for the 1934 mining fire, the Gresford Colliery disaster, and 'feeling of hope and miracles created' by ex-Wrexham and Manchester United footballer Mickey Thomas, who was also at the match on Saturday. Reynolds said Wrexham 'made history' with their third promotion, and added 'that doesn't happen without the wisdom of (manager) Phil Parkinson and his coaching staff, or the talent' of the team. He said he 'watched Sam Smith create a frightening blend between football and martial arts, scoring our second goal yesterday', following midfielder Oliver Rathbone taking an early lead with the first. 'The stadium feels like a church,' Reynolds added. 'I know so many of you now. Since February, 2021, I've watched babies become regulars. 'And some regulars depart us for good. We've had the honour to scatter ashes of loved ones across that field. I've even watched every available hand shovel snow off the pitch to keep a match from cancellation. 'Somebody said the Welsh have the 'heart of a poet and the fist of a fighter.' That's what I love about this place. I wish the whole world could visit Wrexham. Diolch (thank-you).' Alongside the post, he shared images of himself hugging McElhenney, with his wife Blake Lively, and celebrating with the team. Since McElhenney and Reynolds's takeover in February 2021, Wrexham earned its second promotion to League One last year, after winning a place in League Two in 2023. They have also contributed to worldwide attention for the team through their FX documentary show Welcome To Wrexham – which has run for three series and earned eight Emmys. A fourth season is set to air next month. The football club has seen recent royal visits from the Prince of Wales and the King and Queen, and actors including Wolverine star Hugh Jackman. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia co-creator McElhenney and Reynolds were honoured in 2022 by the Welsh Government, the Football Association of Wales and S4C for promoting the country and its language with the Dragon Award.
