'My wife and I were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the terrible events that took place in Liverpool,' the King said. 'What should have been a joyous celebration for so many ended in distressing circumstances,' he added. French President Emmanuel Macron will pay a state visit to Britain in July after he accepted an invitation from King Charles, Buckingham Palace says. Macron and his wife Brigitte will be hosted by Charles and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle just outside London on July 8-10.
