Michigan State football incoming freshman wide receiver turning heads at first day of camp

Incoming freshman Braylon Coller with a remarkable expectations for the young kid this season One year ago, it was a young freshman wide receiver by the name of Nick Marsh who stole the show at the opening day of training camp. Even after one day of practice, it was clear that the Spartans had found something special. On Tuesday, Michigan State football once again opened up camp, and once again, there was a freshman wide receiver who stood out. Braylon Collier, a former 3-star wide receiver out of Sandusky, Ohio, was making highlight plays for pretty much the entire media portion of the first day of camp. Collier already looks like a steal and someone who probably should've been ranked much higher and might be in line for a legitimate role this year as a freshman just based off what we saw today, it was that impressive. Former Spartan James Piot fires an even par third round at the Rocket Classic

The Rocket Classic in Detroit has continued on to the weekend, with players vying for their spots on the leaderboard. After the cut was made on Friday, Detroit Golf Club welcomed golfers in for the third round on Saturday, otherwise known as 'moving day' on the PGA Tour. Of the three former Spartans competing in Detroit's PGA Tour event, only one made the weekend, with James Piot making the cut on the six-under number. On Saturday, Piot was looking to make a move up the leaderboard, but he unfortunately was unable to do so. A two birdie, two bogey day led to a 36-36-72 round for the former Spartan, shooting an even par round. He now sits at T73 on the leaderboard for the tournament. Sunday's fourth and final round will be Piot's last chance to make a move upwards on the leaderboard. He will tee off at 7:34 a.m. in a grouping alongside Ben Kohles. Former Spartan James Piot makes the cut at the Rocket Classic

On Thursday, the Rocket Classic commenced for it seventh edition at the Detroit Golf Club, bringing the PGA Tour back to Detroit. A late addition to the field, former Spartan and United States Amateur champion James Piot was added thanks to a sponsors exemption. He took advantage of his opportunity. After a two-under day on Thursday, the former Spartan rifled a four-under round on Friday, setting himself up at six-under. That number was good enough to make the cut and the weekend at the Rocket Classic. The made cut for Piot is his first career made cut on the PGA Tour. A former LIV golfer, he made history by playing on the PGA Tour after playing for LIV, but now, he makes personal history for himself. Piot will look to make another move up the leaderboard on moving day on Saturday when he tees off at 7:55 a.m., playing in a group alongside Paul Peterson.
