Best known as the resident chef on ITV's This Morning, Clodagh is also a best-selling author, respected food columnist, and passionate advocate for sustainability. She lives on Broadspear, a 100-acre farm in Hampshire, England, with her husband Harry Herbert, their dogs, hens, ducks, pigs and Aberdeen Angus cattle. Though born and raised in Cork with no farming background, Clodagh has embraced country life with enthusiasm and purpose. Over the past five years, the couple has lovingly restored an eighteenth-century walled vegetable garden, planted wildflower meadows, built a pickling shed, and established working beehives and orchards. Her culinary achievements include eight published cookbooks, most recently In Minutes, which topped best-seller lists in both Ireland and the UK. She contributes a weekly food column to The Sunday Times Magazine and has hosted several TV series including Fresh From the Farmers' Markets and Fresh From The Sea. She has also made regular appearances on The Marilyn Denis Show in Canada and The Today Show in the USA and won ITV's Cooking with the Stars in 2022. In addition to running cookery days in her newly renovated London home, she curates a popular online homeware brand, Clodagh's Shop. Now, Clodagh will swap her muddy boots for heels and a hat to lead the fashion charge at this year's Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby. Clodagh's husband, Harry Herbert, was born at Highclere Castle, famously known as the setting for the global hit TV series Downton Abbey, and his family has owned the estate since the late 17th century. He is also the managing director and founder of Europe's leading racing company, Highclere Thoroughbred Racing. The Ballymaloe-trained chef will be joined by Harry when she judges the Best Dressed Competition at this year's event. "Harry just loves Irish racing, and he has been working with Irish breeders and trainers for over 20 years,' said Clodagh. 'So, he's really excited that we will be going together, it's going to be a lot of fun. 'I am also really looking forward to a fantastic day of style and glamour. The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh Racecourse is one of the most elegant days of the year, and I am really looking forward to seeing all the wonderful style on the day. Also, literally being on my own turf makes it even more special.' Clodagh will be joined on the judging panel by lifestyle and fashion writer Bairbre Power and Alpana Cidambi, representing Dubai Duty Free, the event's long-standing title sponsor. The winner of the Best Dressed Competition will receive a prize package from Dubai Duty Free, including return flights for two to Dubai, five nights at the luxurious Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, and €1,000 spending money to enjoy at the award-winning airport retailer. The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival runs from June Friday 27 to Sunday 29, with the Derby itself taking place on Sunday. Last year's race was won by Los Angeles, trained by Aidan O'Brien, marking his record-extending 16th Irish Derby victory. Jockey Ryan Moore rode Los Angeles to a thrilling finish ahead of strong contenders Sunway and Ambiente Friendly. This year marks the 160th running of the Irish Derby and the day promises to be a celebration of the incredible legacy and spectacle of the race.

Zara Tindall eats one food that is proven to keep your cholesterol down

Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne, has been competing in equestrian events for more than two decades and has previously opened up on the diet she follows to stay in shape Former equestrian star Zara Tindall has shared her secret to maintaining an Olympic standard in her day-to-day life. And she revealed her breakfast often includes one particular food known for its cholesterol-lowering benefits. The accomplished daughter of Princess Anne has competed in eventing since she left the University of Exeter. And her sporting career bore great fruit after she won a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics as part of the equestrian team aboard High Kingdom. ‌ Since being catapulted into the limelight, beloved royal Tindall (formerly Phillips) tied the knot with ex- England rugby star Mike Tindall in 2011. Although she hasn't returned to the Olympic stage since her 2012 success, the 43-year-old continues to compete at an elite level and once attributed her peak physical condition to a disciplined diet. ‌ "For breakfast, I'll eat something like Greek yoghurt with honey, a piece of fruit, or toast," she told The Sunday Times Magazine (via Surrey Live) in 2015. "Lunch is quick and simple, like soup and a sandwich or eggs and toast. I don't diet, but I try to eat well and not to eat too many carbohydrates or sugary things." Echoing the advice of the British Heart Foundation, Tindall's choice of Greek yoghurt over regular yoghurt or milk is a sensible one given its higher protein content. Not only that, but the former also has a lower sugar content, and the thicker consistency means many people find it more filling, which helps stave off food cravings. Greek yoghurt is not only a fantastic source of protein and calcium, but studies also indicate the nutrient blend in such dairy products may help slash the risk of heart and circulatory diseases. Opting for a low-fat Greek yoghurt is a smart move as it's believed to keep cholesterol level down due to its reduced saturated fat content compared to its full-fat counterpart. Her favoured lunchtime choice of eggs and toast provides a very rounded balance of protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats. The majority of fat content in eggs is located in the yolk, which also gives a good dose of omega-3 fatty acids. ‌ When it comes to steering clear of sugary treats, the NHS advises cutting down on foods and drinks packed with free sugars. That means avoiding items like fizzy drinks, cakes, sweets, and biscuits will help maintain a healthier, more balanced diet. On top of eating right, Zara believes her fitness routine help keep her in top form for riding. It was announced in December 2023 that she was going 'part-time' in equestrian so that she could focus on being more present for her three children. Post-pregnancy, however, she confessed how tough it was to bounce back into shape after welcoming her first child, Mia. Body image and mental health issues post-partum are common, but Tindall lifted the lid on what helped her regain her self-confidence. "It is hard getting your body back when you've been riding for 25 years," she said during an appearance on hubby Mike's YouTube series, 'Mike Drop'. "Then your body is just completely not doing that, and your muscles are doing nothing. "But it's just completely different, trying to get your body back to where it was quite. . .I found hard work. I found it hard getting myself back to it. Mentally, you feel guilty as a mother leaving your child to go and do something else."

The accomplished daughter of Princess Anne, who took up eventing after university, clinched a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics in the equestrian team event aboard High Kingdom. "For breakfast, I'll eat something like Greek yoghurt with honey, a piece of fruit, or toast," she explained, reports Surrey Live. "Lunch is quick and simple, like soup and a sandwich or eggs and toast. I don't diet, but I try to eat well and not to eat too many carbohydrates or sugary things." The British Heart Foundation notes that Greek yoghurt is not only higher in protein compared to regular plain yoghurt and milk but also a beneficial dairy product for a healthy diet. Notably, it is a rich source of protein and calcium, with research indicating that the combination of nutrients in such dairy products may help lower the risk of heart and circulatory diseases. Opting for low-fat Greek yoghurt is believed to help maintain healthy cholesterol levels, as it contains fewer saturated fats compared to full-fat yoghurt. In line with Tindall's avoidance of sugary foods, the NHS advises reducing consumption of food and drinks high in free sugars, such as fizzy drinks, cakes, sweets, and biscuits, for a balanced diet. In addition to a healthy diet, Tindall follows a regular exercise routine that enables her to perform as a rider. However, after the birth of her first child, Mia, she openly discussed the challenges of regaining her physical fitness. "It is hard getting your body back when you've been riding for 25 years, then your body is just completely not doing that, and your muscles are doing nothing," Tindall shared on her husband Mike's YouTube series, 'Mike Drop'. "I found it hard getting myself back to it," she confessed. "Mentally, you feel guilty as a mother leaving your child to go and do something else."
