Samiha Ayoub's Funeral Details Announced
Yara Sameh The funeral details of veteran Egyptian actress Samiha Ayoub, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 93, have been disclosed. The iconic actress' funeral is set to be held after Asr prayer at the Police Mosque in the 6th of October City, Giza Governorate, where she is set to be buried afterward in her family's cemetery in 6th of October City. No date has been set for the solace ceremony yet. Dubbed Arab Theater Lady, Ayoub has a vast artistic career that spanned over 50 years. She is known for her work on stage, in cinema, and on television. Ayoub was born in 1932 and began her acting career at the age of 15 by participating in the movie "The Vagabond" (1947). She graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1953, where she was taught by the playwright Zaki Tulaimat. From 1972 to 1975, Ayoub managed The Modern Theatre, and from 1975 to 1985, she was the director of The Egyptian National Theatre. Throughout her artistic career, she has presented more than 260 film, TV, and theatrical productions, including 170 plays alone. Her distinguished film contributions include 'Ard el-Nefaq', 'Fagr el-Islam', and 'Bein al-Atlal,' while her notable television works include 'El Doo' el-Shared', 'Awan el-Ward', and 'El-Masrawiya.' Ayoub was honored by President Gamal Abdel Nasser, President Anwar Sadat, Syrian President Hafez al-Assad, and French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing. In 2015, she received the Nile Award in the Arts, and in the same year, the large hall at The Egyptian National Theatre was named after her, in honour of her outstanding career in cinema and theatre, and her contributions to the theatrical arts in Egypt. In 2021, after a hiatus of 11 years, Ayoub was back on the theater stage through the play' Almaz W Se Abdou'' directed by Mazen el Gharabawy. Veteran Egyptian Actress Samiha Ayoub Dies at 93
Renowned Egyptian actress Samiha Ayoub passed away on Tuesday at the age of 93, according to a statement released by the Egyptian Actors' Syndicate. Born in 1932, Ayoub began her artistic journey at the age of 15, appearing in the 1947 film The Vagabond, followed by Love in 1948. In 1949, she enrolled at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, founded by the prominent director Zaki Toleimat, under whose guidance she studied. Alongside her education, Ayoub maintained an active career in both theater and film. In the 1950s, she starred in several notable productions, including Beach of Love. She graduated from the institute in 1953. Ayoub later joined Egypt's National Theatre, where she served as director twice between 1975 and 1989. She also led the Modern Theatre from 1972 to 1975. Over the course of her distinguished career, Ayoub performed in nearly 170 theatrical productions, in addition to numerous appearances in film and television. Her final film role was in Eid Night (2024), starring alongside Yousra El Lozy, Riham Abdel Ghafour, Abir Sabri, Naglaa Badr, and Hanady Mehanna. The film was written by Ahmed Abdallah and directed by Sameh Abdel Aziz.

Samiha Ayoub. Legendary Egyptian actress Samiha Ayoub passed away at 93. Born in the Shubra district, Samiha Ayoub was an extraordinary talent whose professional journey began in 1947 with her debut film Al-Motasharida (The Vagabond). With a career that spanned over 77 years in cinema and television, she holds the record for the longest artistic journey in Arab film history. In 1949, Ayoub joined the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, founded by Zaki Toleimat, under whose mentorship she flourished. Even as a student, she balanced her studies with acting in theatre and cinema. She rose to fame in the early 1950s with roles in Shati' Al-Gharam (1950) and Ward Al-Gharam (1951) and graduated in 1953. Ayoub joined the Egyptian National Theatre, where she later served as director twice between 1975 and 1989. She also led the Modern Theatre from 1972 to 1975. Over her illustrious career, she performed in nearly 170 stage productions, solidifying her legacy as a titan of Arab theatre. Ayoub's legendary career spans over 450 works, including 44 films, around 220 TV series, and nearly 115 radio dramas. Dubbed Lady of Arab Theater, Ayoub was a true icon of Arab theatre, with a remarkable legacy spanning over seven decades in stage, film, and television since her debut.
