We are officially just a few sleeps away from finding out who will be the next "American Idol." On the second Disney Night in Episode 17, the singers largely stayed in their lanes and avoided delivering any surprises with the two songs they each performed, honed by Lin-Manuel Miranda's mentorship. Thunderstorm crooned as he played the guitar while Slater ditched his instrument for the first time to try his hand at emulating Randy Newman. Breanna had a faraway look in her eyes as she stressed about getting through the lyrics in Natalie's "This Will Be," then redeemed herself with a romantic track from "Tarzan" that left her husband in tears. John brought his modern cowboy to the stage once again, and Jamal put a delightful R&B spin on a beloved "Beauty and the Beast" song. Also, Iam Tongi returned to the "Idol" stage for an extra cross-promotional performance for the upcoming live action "Lilo & Stitch." Here are the results of Episode 17. What happened last episode? Watch: Paltrow tries to end rumours of feud with Meghan

The Duchess of Sussex and Gwyneth Paltrow have made a video together to address rumours of a feud. The pair were seen in Paltrow's kitchen at her home in Montecito, California, where the Oscar-winning actress was apparently alone, conducting a question and answer session with fans on Instagram. When one fan asked about rumours of a ' Meghan Markle beef', Paltrow replied: 'I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever.' She then turned the camera to show that the Duchess was also at the table and asked her: 'Do you understand this?' The Duchess shrugged her shoulders, took a bite of food and giggled. The video was also shared on the Duchess's Instagram page. Tensions between the two were first reported when Paltrow said she did not feel threatened by Meghan's attempt to become a lifestyle guru. The Shakespeare in Love actress has her own wellness brand, Goop, but told Vanity Fair she was happy to 'pave the way' for others to follow. Last week, she appeared to mock With Love Meghan, the Duchess's Netflix series, which was panned by critics despite being renewed for a second season. Paltrow shared a clip on Instagram on Saturday of herself cooking scones, bacon and eggs, without make-up and dressed in pyjamas. The Duchess's cooking series involved designer clothing and an expensive kitchen inside a hired $8 million (£6.2 million) farmhouse. As if to underline the comparison, Paltrow used the soundtrack of This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole, which had also been used in promos for the Duchess's Netflix project. However, some fans speculated online that the 'feud' might be a clever marketing ploy. Paltrow previously told Vanity Fair that 'everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try' and said she did not know Meghan well, but she 'seems really lovely'. Meghan has since launched her As Ever brand, which sells products including jam, pancake mix, and the dried flower sprinkles she adds to everything from shortbread biscuits to fried eggs on toast. She is also releasing Confessions Of A Female Founder, a new podcast, in which she is promising 'girl talk' and advice on how to create 'billion-dollar businesses'. It comes after it was revealed Meghan believes her new business ventures will make her 'a billionaire'.

Meghan dispels rumours of ‘beef' in video with Gwyneth Paltrow

The Duchess of Sussex and US actress Gwyneth Paltrow have responded to reports of a feud between the two by posting a video of themselves together. The pair are seen in Paltrow's kitchen at her home in Montecito, California, where the Oscar-winning actress was conducting a Q&A session with fans on Instagram. When one fan asked if she understood the 'Meghan Markle beef' rumoured on social media, Paltrow replied: 'I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever.' Asking 'do you understand this?', she turned the camera to show Meghan alongside her at the table, taking a bite of food. The duchess shrugged her shoulders, giggled and leaned back in her chairs. She shared Paltrow's post on her own Instagram page. Social media stories about the pair's relationship had surfaced after Paltrow, who founded her wellness company Goop in 2008, had posted a video of herself preparing breakfast which were similar to scenes from Meghan's Netflix cooking show With Love, Meghan. She used the song used in adverts for Meghan's series, This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole. The actress turned wellness guru, 52, has defended the duchess setting up a lifestyle brand, saying 'everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try'. Paltrow, who lives near where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to after giving up their royal duties, previously told Vanity Fair she did not know Meghan well, but she 'seems really lovely'. 'I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes,' Paltrow said. 'I think there's always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.' Meghan has recently launched the lifestyle brand As Ever in tandem with her TV show. With Love, Meghan has been met with savage reviews from critics but proven a hit for Netflix, reaching the streaming giant's top 10 programmes globally last week. A trailer for her new podcast was released on Tuesday, with Meghan promising 'girl talk' and advice on how to create 'billion-dollar businesses'. Confessions Of A Female Founder launches next Tuesday.
