Pecatonica man dies in early morning crash on Winnebago County highway
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Pecatonica man was killed Monday morning after a crash at US Highway 20 near Meridian Road.
According to the Winnebago County Coroner's Office, Thomas Walker, Jr., 41, was traveling eastbound in a pickup truck around 1:15 a.m. when he left the roadway and crashed.
Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy concluded he expired from blunt trauma to the chest due to the crash.
The crash is still under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the coroner's office.
