Meet actor who offered Big B Rs 5,000 for Saat Hindustani, fought with Madhuri Dixit over costume, survived on his wife's support and now…
Today in the Meet Actor series, we bring to you a very popular face from the industry. An actor who actually wanted to become a director, trained under Satyajit Ray for the same, but also ended up portraying some of the most iconic roles on the silver screen. From Aamir Khan's Ghajini, Katrina Kaif's Merry Christmas, Sidharth Malhotra's Hasee Toh Phasee, to many more, we have seen this actor shine with his acting skills. He is none other than Tinnu Anand. Tinnu Anand's father, Inder Raj Anand, was a well-known writer in the Bollywood film industry. Despite his being a part of the glamor world, he did not want his son to enter the industry. But, the creative streak in him forced the veteran actor to go to his dad and confront him about his desire to direct a film. Tinnu had revealed that this had upset his father. But when he saw that his son did not want to do anything else, Anand was sent to the Satyajit Ray School. In an interview, the Ghajini actor has revealed how he was offered K Abass' film Saat Hindustani. The heroine of this film, Neena Singh, suggests Amitabh Bachchan 's name for a role in the film. To this, Abbas had said that Big B will have to come to Mumbai for auditions at his own expense, and this is how he landed in the dream city. It was Tinnu who took him to the filmmaker's office and was given the 'dirty job' of offering Big B Rs. 5000 for the entire film. Reportedly, Anand even got in a spat with Madhuri Dixit over her costume, which made the actress walk out of Shanakht. He is married to Shahnaz, daughter of veteran actor Agha. His wife, who is a writer and former editor of Star & Style magazine, financially supported the family when the actor was initially struggling in the industry.

Madhuri Dixit once refused to agree THIS director's demand, got fired from the film, later Amitabh Bachchan told director to not..., he then..., the film was... In a career spanning over four decades, Madhuri Dixit remained one of the most celebrated Bollywood actresses. With remarkable performances in films like Dil, Khal Nayak, Koyla, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Devdas, Dil To Pagal Hai, she carved a special place in audiences hearts. Apart from acting chops, she is also admired for her terrific dancing skills. From songs like Ek do teen to Didi tera dewar deewana , she stole many hearts with her spectacular moves. She almost lost out a role for refusing to shoot a scene in bra. Actor and filmmaker Tinnu Anand became angry when he heard her saying no and felt that she could have expressed her discomfort before signing the film and not on the day of shoot. In a conversation with Radio Nasha, Tinnu Anand revealed, 'I narrated the entire sequence to Madhuri and I told her that you have to remove your blouse and for the first time, we should see you in your bra. And I am not going to hide anything behind a haystack or anything. Because you are offering yourself to help a man who is trying to help you. So it is a very important situation and I want to shoot it on the first day. She said okay.' 'I said you can design your bra, whatever you want. You don't have to wear a bra bra but you can design your own bra, I don't mind. But it has to be a bra because you are opening your blouse, offering yourself,' Anand added. On the day of shoot, Madhuri backed out, leaving Tinnu furious. When asked what happened, she stated, ' I don't want to do this particular scene.' I said, 'I'm sorry, you have to do this scene.' She said, 'No, I don't want to.' I said, 'Okay, pack up, say good bye to the film. I'll cancel my shoot.' Amitabh Bachchan, who was playing lead role in the film, intervened to play the role of a peacemaker as Madhuri was asked to pack her bags and leave. In Tinnu's words, Big B said, 'Let it be, why are you arguing with her? If she has an objection ' I said, 'If she had to object, she should have done it earlier, before signing the film. Later, Madhuri came on board and her secretary requested Tinnu to reconsider, as she agreed to do the sequence.

Watch In the WhatsApp message, which has now surfaced on social media and is catching everyone's attention, he allegedly threatened to attack stray dogs near his residence with a hockey stick. He went on to warn animal lovers to take the dogs home or deal with the consequences. Tinnu's message sparked widespread outrage among animal rights activists, locals, and social media users, who heavily criticised his tone. Aanchal Chaddha, a resident of the same society, took action by filing a complaint at the Versova Police Station, prompting the police to intervene in the matter. The message read, 'Have come back after a horrifying shoot to be greeted by terrifying dogs barking and not knowing who to bite next… Challenge taken. Have a hockey stick to face them… am warning all dog lovers hereon… take them home OR then face my wrath… my society is given advance notice'. The message triggered massive backlash from social media users. Actor Shweta Gulati also commented on the post, writing, "Had such massive respect for this man, which is lost today. What a fool. Let's pray he gets beaten soon'. Karishma Tanna shared, 'To all those animal haters n supporting this veteran actor. It's heartbreaking and shameful to see people supporting violence against innocent dogs — and even worse, threatening to harm them. This isn't just inhuman, it's a complete failure of empathy. Animals can't speak, but we can — and we must. If you find joy in hurting or hating those who only know love and loyalty, it says more about your darkness than theirs'. According to The Free Press Journal, Mumbai Police officer and senior animal rights activist Sudhir Kudalkar said that the police have asked the actor to issue an apology letter. The Dabangg actor reacted to the hate coming his way while talking to The Free Press Journal. He said, 'This is absolutely what I meant because my daughter has broken her wrist and she's been treated since the last one month and it cost me ₹90,000 for her being operated twice now. Her pet dog was attacked by 3 stray dogs in our society and in trying to save her dog she fell and broke her wrist. I want to talk to these dog lovers. If they doubt these dogs so much they feed them, they look after them, then why not put a leash on them? Ask the convenience store near the society- his delivery man has been attacked twice and now they have stopped delivering because they don't want to be attacked by the dogs". Tinnu added, 'I'm 80 years old and if any dog attacks me, I have every right to defend myself. That is what I meant. That is what these people should have understood anyway. Everyone's got diuretic fingers, you know, moving towards the mobiles, typing away messages, which is fine with me because I'm ignoring it completely because I know what I have written. This is not the first case where dogs have attacked. There's so many cases when these incidents have happened. It's not to attack dogs, it's just to defend myself and I have every right to'.
