Ubisoft teases Splinter Cell reveal but don't get your hopes up
Activity on Ubisoft's social media channels points to a potential Splinter Cell announcement, but is it connected to the remake? It's been four years since Ubisoft announced it was working on a remake of the first Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, and we've heard nothing substantial about it since. Aside from some early concept art, a report last year claimed that, despite fan fears, the project hadn't been cancelled and that it could launch at some point in 2026. Despite years of silence from Ubisoft, it seems they might finally be gearing up to make an announcement regarding the franchise. Either that, or someone on the social media team is feeling particularly torturous towards its fans. In an X post on Friday, May 30, the official Ubisoft account shared a head shot of series protagonist Sam Fisher, with eye emojis and '#SplinterCell' in the caption. Weirdly, the screenshot itself is from the sequel to Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, titled Pandora Tomorrow, which was released in 2004 on PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC. While many fans are hoping this is a tease for news about the remake at Summer Game Fest on Friday, June 6, or at the Xbox showcase two days later, there's a chance it could be connected to something else entirely. On Saturday, May 31, Netflix is holding its annual Tudum event where it shares trailers and announcements about its upcoming release slate. You might have forgotten about it entirely, but Netflix is developing an animated TV series based on Splinter Cell, called Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, which is slated to be released in late 2025. More Trending There's a chance Ubisoft is teasing an announcement regarding the latter, but that doesn't mean we won't see an update about the remake at some point soon. In fact, it makes sense to line up the animated series with the launch of a remake, but that depends on whether Ubisoft is feeling logical. One potential ding against the chances of an update at Summer Game Fest is the fact Ubisoft hasn't been listed among the event's partners so far. This in turn suggests the company is planning its own Ubisoft Forward presentation again, like it did in June last year, but there hasn't been an official announcement yet. The last mainline instalment in the series was 2013's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, which continued the series' action-orientated shift, following Splinter Cell: Conviction. Ubisoft was working on a VR spin-off, but that was was cancelled in 2022. Email gamecentral@ leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter, and sign-up to our newsletter. Have an Xbox? You Can Play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for Free This Weekend
Call of Duty is one of the largest franchises in gaming, and Black Ops 6 is the first entry in the popular shooter franchise that publisher Activision Blizzard released after being bought by Microsoft in 2023. While Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can already play Black Ops 6 as part of their memberships, Microsoft is making the multiplayer and zombie game modes of the game free to play for all Xbox gamers this weekend as part of Xbox Free Play Days. So, whether you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Core or aren't a Game Pass member, you can get in on the fun. Microsoft is also making a few other games, like Football Manager 2024, available to all Game Pass subscribers this weekend. Game Pass offers subscribers a large and constantly expanding library of games. There are four Game Pass tiers you can choose from -- starting at $10 a month -- and each gives subscribers access to certain games and other perks. During Xbox Free Play Days, Core, Standard and Ultimate subscribers can play certain games from outside their subscription at no additional charge. This weekend, Microsoft is making Tom Clancy's The Division 2 and specific game modes in Black Ops 6 playable for all gamers, whether they have a Game Pass subscription or not. Here are the games that both Game Pass and non-Game Pass subscribers can play this weekend. You can also check out other games Microsoft brought to Game Pass recently, like Doom: The Dark Ages. These games are free for everyone, even non-Game Pass members Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (Multiplayer and Zombies modes only) From now until June 3, you can experience fast-paced multiplayer matches or take on zombie hordes in Black Ops 6. This game's multiplayer mode features a new mechanic called omnimovement, which lets you sprint, dive and slide in any direction. In previous games, you could only sprint forward. This makes matches more frantic and fast-paced, and the mechanics make me feel like John Wick when I pull off a string of kills without interruption. Once you've slid around corners and taken out the enemy team, you can join them and take out countless zombies in the Zombies game mode. This also marks the return of round-based zombies in the expansive maps Terminus and Liberty Falls. And with new ammo mods and GobbleGum upgrades, you and your team will be mowing down zombies all day. Everyone can play this game for free until June 3. Tom Clancy's The Division 2 This RPG shooter begins a few months after the events of the original game when chaos has engulfed Washington, DC. Enemy factions have overrun the city's streets, and settlements of citizens are threatened by new enemies. It's up to you to help liberate the city. Everyone can play this game for free until June 3. These games are available to all Game Pass Subscribers Ark: Survival Ascended In this action-adventure survival game, your character wakes up on an island filled with dinosaurs. This isn't Jurassic Park. Instead, there are tribes of humans who tame, breed and use the creatures like farm animals. If you ever wanted to ride a T. rex into battle, now's your chance. All Game Pass subscribers can play this game at no additional cost until June 1. Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game Game Pass subscribers can play a game based on the decades-old cult classic film Killer Klowns From Outer Space this weekend. This asymmetrical multiplayer horror game has you play as one of three Killer Klowns or try and stop the invaders as one of seven citizens of the town of Crescent Cove. The 3v7 gameplay makes for some interesting matches; while the humans have more people to defend the town, the klowns have better zany weapons and otherworldly abilities. It's sure to be a killer good time. All Game Pass subscribers can play this game at no additional cost until June 1. Football Manager 2024 Console If you have ever wanted to manage your own football club -- read, soccer team -- then now's your chance. This game lets you set up training regimens, sign new players and make on-the-fly tactical matchday decisions. And with the game's transfer market powered by the biggest football player database, you can build your dream team in no time. All Game Pass subscribers can play this game at no additional cost until June 1. For more on Xbox, check out other games available on Game Pass now, read our hands-on review of the gaming service and learn which Game Pass plan is right for you.

Slavery disguised as freedom
Listen to article Growing up in Pakistan has its own benefits. One is devoid of a democratic society but is also free from the needs of a democratic society that has to obey lobbies inside the country and at the same time lie about people representative. We indulged in rote learning inside Pakistan but once exposed to books authored by foreign authors, it didn't take a long time to understand the truth as it was. In fact, it is quite acceptable, rather fashionable, to value foreign everything in Pakistan. Imported stuff is good stuff. In the United States, however, kids grow up with the mindset that anything American is the best. And it is not much different than kids growing up in Pakistan but as mentioned above, the Pakistani kids get to be exposed to foreign sources and realities. The American kids never get to learn that perhaps other countries make better cars, are better mathematicians, make better tools, speak multiple languages, and above all know the truth much better than them. Freedom inside the minds of Pakistani teenagers and older youth is tantamount to experiencing realities other than the ones taught to them by their society. Freedom is not to memorise the lessons in the textbook or watch Jeeto Pakistan but rather to read Tom Clancy and to watch Breaking Bad. Freedom inside the minds of the American kids is to read Tom Clancy and watch Breaking Bad. Similar consumption yet very opposite reasons. Freedom to the Americans is to continue to do what they have been doing since that is something people in other societies do not have access to. The inability to experience outside sources of information and the treatment of domestic sources as the ultimate truth has created a society where men and women grow up with the fictitious notion that as Christians they must protect Israel. That idea has somehow become an American idea, more specifically, a Christian American idea. The protection of Israel has been made to be a part of the American Christian life, a life that can only enrich itself from the sources of knowledge present at home, a life that not only is not much exposed to foreign sources but also refuses to value or acknowledge foreign sources. That recalcitrance is also part of the American belief system. The protection of Israel has been made an important part of Jewish and Christian American lives. Kids grow up with this belief system without the ability or chance of venturing into other sources of knowledge that might question this idea. Americans are so deeply entrenched into the idea of theirs as the best knowledge that even educated people who come from other countries are told how their degrees are worthless from an American standpoint. A Harvard student who strongly believes that Israel must be protected is treated above compared to an Australian, Pakistani or Indian student who knows the truth as it is instead of as it has been tailored for the American mindset. Enter Israeli lobbies inside the United States. Their work has been tremendously criticised and rightfully so. However, what many miss is the fact that the work of the lobbies in coercing politicians to be eagerly pro-Israel is made easy by having a population that while growing up in America was trained to subscribe to this idea very aggressively. It is not always the case that these lobbies coerce the politicians to go against their constituencies but rather their coercion is more about reminding the politicians about how the lobbies can stir up the sentiments among their constituencies as well as the general public, if the politicians show signs of having funny ideas such as criticising Israel for killing children or uttering words such as genocide and forgetting to utter words such as Holocaust. For Palestine to be free, the Israeli lobbies inside the United States sure must be defeated but more important is the undoing of decades of mind control to which the American people were subjected. The work must start from there.
