How to recreate fashion runway's favourite slicked-back hairstyle at home

The India couture week is around the corner. Given the past fashion showcases in Paris and Milan, the one thing that's becoming common on the runway—and will most probably be visible at the Indian couture week as well—is the sleek slicked-back, high-shine hair. Beyond the haute couture weeks, standalone shows, too, are presenting variations of the frizz-free hairstyle. At the Tom Ford show, for instance, several models walked flaunting sculpted dome-like slick hair. This combination of polish, precision and frizz-free practicality when it comes to hairstyle is perfect for the monsoon season. So, here are some easy runway-inspired slick looks you can try at home this season. Mermaid hair Mermaid-core hairstyle (big, wavy hair), which became a trend over a year ago, continues to be a big inspiration this season as well. At Jean Paul Gaultier, models had tendrils framing the face, with net veils on top adding to the drama. Rahul Mishra had more pushed back slick looks that you can try with various hair lengths. Deep side parts Want a quick change in your look? Change your parting. Or do sleek, deep side parts, either with finger curls that frame the forehead, or try a wet look with lots of gel and neat combing to push back open hair—the way models did at the Iris van Herpen's Paris show. Sleek buns During his couture show, Stéphane Rolland presented structural sleek undos, many embellished at the middle part for drama. The show also had twisted sleek buns with a net veil—all looks that can be achieved easily with a strong gel and a steady hand. Schiaparelli let black lipstick be the star with severe slick-back hair, a lesson in making a minimalist statement. If 'intentionally messy" is your vibe, keep it super sleek in the front, with messy strands at the back like at Chanel's presentation. These looks can easily be taken from a boardroom meeting to a party.

The new rules for men's beach dressing? The more fun, the better

S ince we all work so hard, and holidays are now so expensive, the fewer rules we attach to dress codes for the beach, the better. The world is stressful enough without having to worry about what to wear on your vacation. So ignore all the holiday hacks you've seen on Reels, cast aside any demos on TikTok that show how you can fit all you need for a week away into a carry-on, and instead shove everything you've ever loved into your suitcase. A holiday is the moment to wear everything you've bought and were unsure about, whether that be from Temu or Tom Ford. It's like a sartorial free-trade zone. Who cares what the randoms on the sunloungers next to you think. Ignore the snide looks from your partner or kids. And Instagram shots can be doctored before you post them (try YouCam Perfect).

Ever wondered what's inside a supermodel suitcase? Wonder no more!

Lindsey Wixson knows a thing or two about packing for summer- particularly when it comes to nailing effortless, light luxury. It's hardly surprising, really. The American supermodel is no stranger to hopping across time zones, flitting between castings, and ensuring she's ready at a moment's notice for a spontaneous sunshine shoot - just look to our Grazia Beauty Book cover for proof. One peek inside Wixson's suitcase confirms her approach to packing is equal parts functional and fabulous. She swears by a tightly edited selection of skincare saviours and fashion multi-taskers - think clever pieces that work double duty (a bag and a hat in one? Yes, really) - ensuring every item earns its place in that overhead locker. From featherweight hemp swimwear to luxe hydrating serums, consider Wixson's travel style the ultimate guide to packing like a supermodel. 1. Multi-functional accessories are the best.' 3. Weleda Arnica Bumps & Bruises Salve Ointment 'I always have a tube of this arnica cream on me when I'm travelling. Sun's out, bums out. Your celebrity-approved guide to micro shorts

She struts the streets, thighs out, dreams ablaze. Between the '60s to the '70s, women were beginning to have a taste of what it meant when we could have it all. When shorts—no longer shunned nor seen as articles of definance—burst into the style scene, oft associated with popular icons at the time. Think Catherine Bach's Daisy Duke, the girl who made daisy dukes, or short jean shorts, a thing. Androgynous designer and icon, Dame Mary Quant, may have been better known for the mini skirt, but she was also the biggest proponent for the hot pant. The retro hot pant style has since been through its slew of iterations. Designers revived it in recent years too; from Tom Ford to Gucci and Miu Miu, the spring/summer 2024 season was all about the hiked up hemline. Tom Ford spring/summer 2024. Not when all the biggest pop girlies of our generation are putting their best hot pants on for the stage. In fact, the hemlines are getting even higher. Beyond mere summer essential, these extremely short shorts have been worn in a dizzying array of styles. Jennie's double weekend run at Coachella alone brought out the big guns. Belted leather moments on stage, fringe detailing, and even a casual striped knit number. @jennierubyjane @jennierubyjane 2025's go-to festival returnee Olivia Rodrigo is known to rock it out on the stage in micros too, her embellished shorts take on Ginger Spice's Union Jack look, paired to a baby tee–a definitive favourite outfit of hers. Then there's Sabrina Carpenter whose recent music video for 'Manchild' sees her sport all sorts of ultra short styles, from denims to ginghams. One thing we know for sure, these pop stars aren't about to retire their adored pairs of hot pants anytime soon. The 9 Best Gladiator Sandals to Wear This Summer

If you're looking to shake up your sandal lineup this summer, consider the resurgence of the gladiator sandal. Upgraded from the chunky, caged designs of the early 2000s, current iterations of the iconic Roman-inspired footwear read sleeker, more modern, and are easier to style with a variety of warm-weather ensembles. Just ask our ELLE editors. From a minimalist, thin-strap design by Amanu to a bold, knee-high version from Tom Ford, our editors know the strappy sandal is a mainstay in their warm-weather wardrobes—especially when trainers aren't cutting it or when we want to take a break from heels. Ahead, we've gathered 9 of the best gladiator sandals our fashion team is reaching for this season. You'll find a variety of designs, whether you're looking for a comfortable pair to wear during your upcoming travels or a style you can count on from day to night. 'I'm a sucker for an olive-suede combination, and this dreamy sandal is my new favorite summer essential. The velvety straps offer a comfortable fit, and the supportive, contoured footbed makes them ideal for a day spent strolling the city.'—Laura Tarafa, commerce writer Sizes: 6-10 Colors: Matcha Materials: Suede 'I love Raye's minimalist take on the gladiator sandal. They're giving strappy sandals without the 'fighting the Romans at 3 P.M.' vibes that a lot of gladiator styles can lean toward.'—Madison Rexroat, assistant accessories editor Sizes: 5.5-10 Colors: Black, Tan, White Bubble Materials: Leather A Veronica Beard customer flawlessly described this luxe ankle-strap style as 'jewelry for your feet!' Pack this earth-toned, gemstone-adorned sandal for your next warm-weather getaway to pair with a flirty backless dress. Sizes: 5-12 Colors: Gold Materials: Stone, Leather 'Zimmermann's Goldie sandals are the ultimate summer staple—fresh off the brand's spring/summer 2025 runway. The chunky straps add intrigue to everything from minidresses to a tank top and jorts, making them the versatile hero piece your warm-weather wardrobe didn't know it needed.'—Claire Stern Milch, digital director Sizes: 35-41 Colors: Brown 'Amanu is one of my go-to brands for summer sandals. What I love about their Serengeti style is that it offers a more modern, minimalist take on a classic gladiator sandal. I also love how thin the straps are from a comfort standpoint, so your legs don't feel too constricted by having straps wrapped around them.'—Carson Stannard, fashion editor Sizes: 6-12 Colors: Camel, Gold 'It's hard to think of the iconic gladiator sandal without thinking of Ancient Greek Sandals—I mean, that just seems like a given, knowing the name of the footwear label. In my humble opinion, the Satira is the perfect option when you want that early-aughts boho look without feeling like you're cosplaying someone from that era. Yes, they definitely fall into the return of the Bohemian aesthetic, but they feel more polished for 2025. I recommend taking these on your next European vacation.'—Dale Arden Chong, senior fashion commerce editor Sizes: 35-42 Colors: 7 options Materials: Leather Want more oomph in your gladiator sandal? Look no further than this Tom Ford knee-high design—it's sure to be the pièce de résistance of your outfit. A sleek minidress will complement this eye-catching shoe. Sizes: 37-41 Colors: Black A modern take on the toe ring trend, this brown crisscross sandal from the iconic New York line boasts brushed gold-tone hardware that subtly adds interest to a simple suede sandal. Sizes: 5-11 Colors: Umber Suede Materials: Suede, Leather 'For a sleek take on the gladiator style with a dash of gilded toe jewelry, Tory Burch's suede sandals are a go-to. The slight platform makes them a bit more comfortable than regular flat sandals, and the suede straps are a bit more forgiving than stiff leather.'—Madison Rexroat, assistant accessories editor Colors: Black, Silver Every product featured on is independently researched, tested, or editor-approved.
