BMW is once again bringing an exclusive study for a small series to Lake Como this year: The BMW Concept Speedtop

Exclusive three-door interpretation of a BMW Touring Unique color and material concept Limited-run small series for collectors and enthusiasts Munich/Cernobbio, May 2025, At the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2025, the renowned celebration of historic vehicles on the shores of Lake Como in Italy, the BMW Group is presenting an exclusive new concept car that will subsequently be made available for purchase in a small series. The BMW Concept Speedtop reimagines the sporty Touring, blending the elegance of a shooting brake with unique proportions. 'A true BMW exudes dynamism and elegance even when it's standing still,' says Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design. 'And that's also the case with our new concept car. The BMW Concept Speedtop is characterised first of all by its profile. It is very unique in the automotive industry. In this way, we have created an exclamation mark for our entire lineup of vehicles, especially for the Touring models.' The generous interior invites for weekend getaways for two. High-quality materials, the focus on every detail, and the stylistic connection between exterior and interior are a testament for its true craftsmanship. The BMW Concept Speedtop shares its eye-catching form language with the BMW Skytop and will be offered to collectors and connoisseurs in a strictly limited small series. Unique profile, dynamic proportions: The pronounced V-shape of the front end, with its shark-nose design, the slim front lights and the illuminated kidney grille give the BMW Concept Speedtop an unmistakable presence. The continuation of the central spline from the bonnet over the roof to the rear spoiler gives the car a dynamic Touring profile. The colour gradient on the roof, moving from 'Floating Sunstone Maroon' to 'Floating Sundown Silver', accentuates this shape. The athletic design is enhanced by the car's broad shoulders. Its elegance is underscored by two-tone, 14-spoke wheels, which have been designed specifically for the BMW Concept Speedtop. Luxurious craftsmanship: The interior of the BMW Concept Speedtop was designed with a strong focus to even the smallest detail. Skillfully crafted, traditional brogue-style details accentuate the leather-trimmed surfaces and emphasis the manufactory-level craftmanship on display. The two-tone colour and material concept creates a connection between the exterior and interior. The sparkling brown tone of the 'Floating Sunstone Maroon' exterior paint is carried over into the interior. Here, the brown 'Sundown Maroon' world harmonises with the light 'Moonstone White' of the seats. The two-tone leather upholstery divides the dynamic and functional areas of the interior. The visually striking roof spline in the exterior is mirrored as a light beam in the two-tone leather headliner, providing an atmospheric, indirect illumination. The trunk is also leather-covered and refined with brogue-style perforations. A light beam illuminates the luggage compartment, which is divided into two sections. This allows large items of luggage to be stowed inside for multi-day trips. The elaborate craftsmanship in the exterior and interior was realised with the expertise of the Manufactory workshop at the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing. The virtuosity in the design of the BMW Concept Speedtop is further enhanced through the collaboration with the traditional Italian manufacturer Schedoni. Known for the production of exclusive and high-quality leather goods by hand, especially in the automotive sector, Schedoni has always stood for highest quality and customisation. Two storage areas with leather straps behind the seats provide space for two of Schedoni's made-to-measure bags. The bags were designed exclusively for the Concept to fit in with its colour and material concept. A matching weekend bag can also be accommodated in the trunk. Most powerful V8 in the portfolio and limited-run small series The concept car's engine ensures it scales the heights not only in terms of design, but also performance. It is fitted with the most powerful V8 engine currently offered by BMW. 'Last year, the presentation of the BMW Concept Skytop at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como generated great enthusiasm among connoisseurs and automotive enthusiasts,' says Bernd Körber, Senior Vice President BMW Brand and Product Management. 'This led to a strictly limited production run of 50 units. Thanks to this positive response, this year we have decided to also offer the BMW Concept Speedtop in a limited production series of 70 units. This extraordinary vehicle is now available for order. We are pleased to be able to offer collectors and enthusiasts another exclusive model.'

Toyota bZ4X Touring takes aim at Subaru Outback

The Toyota bZ4X Touring you see here will join the updated bZ4X in a year's time. Essentially an expanded version of the current EV, the Touring is aimed at those who need added space. It offers a vast increase in luggage capacity, along with all the technical upgrades recently introduced on the facelifted bZ4X. The Touring comes with a body that is 140mm longer and 20mm taller than the existing bZ4X's. Boot space expanded by around 33 per cent or 148L to 600 litres. The second row benefits from added headroom, bigger windows and a more open interior layout. Toyota has also fitted new roof rails that can tote up to 70kg while towing capacity is boosted to 1500kg, twice that of the bZ4X. This should therefore appeal more to adventurous types who like to haul stuff. Two versions will be offered, both using the uprated 75kWh battery pack. A single-motor version produces 165kW a WLTP range of up to 557km. Read our review of the bZ4X here. A 280kW dual-motor AWD variant will also be available. It implements X-Mode for slippery conditions. Official WLTP range figures for this variant have yet to emerge, but expect a small drop compared with the single-motor model. Both feature 150kW DC fast charging, and come with an 11-22kW on-board charger for the single and dual-motor options, respectively. In terms of design, the new Touring reminds of the Subaru Trailseeker that will also go on sale later this year. But it features a less rugged look with a sleeker front end characterised by C-shaped daytime running lights. Like the refreshed bZ4X, this arrives with a smarter interior that features a large central infotainment screen and redesigned centre console offering addition oddments storage space. Pricing will be revealed closer to its time of arrival.

GWM previews pre-production version of the Ora 07 Touring

GWM has unveiled the pre-production version of its new Ora 07 Touring at the Auto Shanghai 2025 motor show, offering a glimpse at the brand's future direction for its electric vehicle (EV) range. While still in development, the Touring variant hints at a more practical evolution of the sleek Ora 07 sedan. Stylistically, the vehicle remains largely consistent with the standard Ora 07, a model often likened to the Porsche Panamera due to its silhouette. In keeping with that comparison, GWM's Touring variant draws parallels with the Panamera Sport Turismo, featuring a more estate-like profile. The most notable design update is found at the rear, where the conventional sloping roofline has been replaced by an extended D-pillar to form a shooting brake-style silhouette. Another significant exterior addition is the LiDAR sensor positioned above the front windscreen, suggesting the possibility of enhanced driver assistance systems in future production models. The Touring sits on blacked-out 19-inch alloy wheels, matched with red brake callipers and fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres, further underlining its sporty character. Though the display unit at the event remained locked, a closer inspection through the windows revealed several interior updates. The digital instrument cluster now adopts a sleeker layout, doing away with the hooded binnacles seen in the existing model. In the centre, a larger infotainment display – likely the same 14.6-inch screen featured in the facelifted Tank 300 – dominates the dashboard. A redesigned floating centre console replaces physical air-conditioning controls with a broader Qi wireless charging pad and twin cupholders, a notable improvement from the current single cupholder setup. The new estate body style is also expected to deliver greater boot capacity and improved rear headroom, addressing two of the standard model's limitations. GWM has yet to confirm technical specifications for the Touring, but it is expected to mirror the drivetrain options offered in the current Ora 07 sedan. This would include a single-motor variant producing 204PS and 340Nm of torque, as well as a dual-motor performance model delivering a combined output of 408PS and 680Nm of torque. While a launch timeline has not been announced, the Ora 07 Touring is poised to strengthen GWM's EV line-up by combining practicality with modern styling and advanced technology.

2025 Mazda CX-60 price and specs: Mid-size SUV gets price cuts, mechanical updates

Mazda is rolling out a major update to its CX-60 SUV range, aimed squarely at addressing complaints surrounding the current model's ride quality and transmission. The updated CX-60 has received various mechanical upgrades, as well as tweaks to standard features and a pair of new trim levels. The suspension update follows a fix that arrived in March 2024, when Mazda Australia gave owners the option to have installed – at no cost – a revised rear shock absorber. This was also fitted on new builds from October 2023. The latest updates are claimed to 'broaden the five-seater's established appeal', while enhancing the overall handling of the car. Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now. The 2025 Mazda CX-60 still features double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, but it now has softer rear springs, increased rear rebound damping, and firmer front compression damping, aimed at smoothing its ride. Additionally, the car's power steering, all-wheel drive, and stability systems have been recalibrated. Mazda has also addressed complaints about the CX-60's eight-speed automatic transmission. It says clutch control improvements now result in 'even smoother and more responsive combustion-engine-to-electric motor transitions and a wider gear range'. Joining the range are new Pure and Touring grades. The Pure will be the new base model, below the Evolve, while the Touring will slot between the Evolve and GT. The launch of the Pure brings the CX-60 range's starting price to just over $50,000 before on-roads. That's a drop of $10,560. For a limited time, Mazda is offering the new entry-level G40e Pure at $53,990 drive-away nationwide. Mazda's Vision Technology Package is now standard on the Evolve and above. It was previously an option on all but the Azami, where it was standard fit, and brings various tech and safety enhancements like a larger instrument display and cruising and traffic support. Engine options for the new variants are unchanged, comprising a 2.5-litre plug-in hybrid four-cylinder powertrain alongside six-cylinder petrol and diesel mild-hybrids. Pricing Pricing is down across the board for the CX-60. Drivetrains and Efficiency Mazda's three-engine lineup for the CX-60 is unchanged for 2025. Weight figures vary between trim levels, but are not currently listed for Pure and Touring grades.
