Toyota Glanza Prestige Edition launched: Here's what it gets

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has refreshed its premium hatchback offering, the Glanza, by introducing a new limited-period 'Prestige Package' accessory bundle. Aimed at enhancing the car's visual appeal and cabin ambiance, the package is available across dealerships until July 31. This latest update builds on the Glanza's growing popularity in India's competitive hatchback market. The 'Prestige Package' includes several stylish, dealer-fitted cosmetic upgrades. These comprise chrome-accented body side mouldings, rear lamp and lower grille garnishes, door visors, illuminated scuff plates, and a sporty rear skid plate. Though optional, these accessories are expected to appeal to buyers seeking a more personalised and upmarket look for their vehicle. Launched in 2019, the Toyota Glanza is based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and has carved a niche for itself with over two lakh units sold since its debut. It is particularly popular among urban commuters and first-time buyers, thanks to its combination of fuel efficiency, modern features, and compact proportions that suit city driving. Under the hood, the Glanza continues with the same 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine that delivers a peppy yet efficient performance. Customers can choose between a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox, while a CNG variant is also available for those prioritising low running costs. Toyota claims a fuel efficiency of 22.94 km/l for the AMT variant and an impressive 30.61 km/kg for the CNG model. The hatchback remains well-equipped with features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Head-Up Display (HUD), 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, and connected car technology via Toyota i-Connect. Additionally, safety has received a boost with six airbags now being offered as standard across variants. Priced from ₹ 6.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated Glanza continues to offer great value in the premium hatchback space. It also retains Toyota's standard 3-year/100,000 km warranty, which can be extended up to 5 years or 2,20,000 km—reaffirming the brand's commitment to reliability and peace of mind. With the addition of the Prestige Package and enhanced safety features, Toyota's Glanza is now an even more compelling choice for buyers looking for a stylish, feature-rich, and dependable hatchback.

India's oldest water tribunal gets yet another extension after 39 years of unresolved dispute

Nearly four decades after it was constituted, the Ravi and Beas Waters Tribunal — India's oldest active inter-state water dispute tribunal — has been granted yet another one-year extension, effective from August 5. The extension was notified by the Union government and made public on Friday. Formed in April 1986 under the Inter-State River Water Disputes (ISRWD) Act, 1956, the tribunal was tasked with adjudicating water-sharing disputes over the Ravi and Beas rivers among Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. Despite forwarding a report in 1987, the tribunal has yet to deliver a final resolution, as the concerned states sought clarifications on several issues, keeping the matter pending for over 39 years. 'The central government, after considering the exigencies of the work involved as pointed out by the tribunal, is of the opinion that it is necessary to extend the period for submission of the further report of the Ravi and Beas Waters Tribunal by one year,' read the official notification. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Sharp Design, Smoother Drives. Toyota Glanza Learn More Undo The prolonged delay holds significance not only because of the sheer passage of time but also due to the pending Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal dispute between Punjab and Haryana. The outcome of the tribunal's final report is expected to play a crucial role in resolving the decades-long SYL impasse, as the canal pertains directly to the sharing of Ravi-Beas waters. The Ravi and Beas tribunal is one of five such tribunals in India that continue to function far beyond their initial mandates. Others include: Live Events Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal (constituted in November 2010) for disputes among Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka; Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal (constituted in April 2004), the second-oldest, involving Maharashtra, Karnataka and erstwhile Andhra Pradesh; Vansadhara Water Disputes Tribunal (February 2010) between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh; and Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal (March 2018) between Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Air India crash report: The unanswered questions in govt's 15-page preliminary findings into AI-171 tragedy

A month after Air India flight AI171 crashed moments after take off from Ahmedabad, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has released its preliminary findings. The 15-page report provides a detailed timeline of the aircraft's final minutes, confirming that both engines shut down seconds after liftoff and that neither pilot acknowledged switching them off. But even with flight data, cockpit recordings, and engine analysis underway, investigators have yet to determine why the fuel cutoff switches for both engines moved to 'CUTOFF' in-flight, one after the other, and without any known command. The Boeing 787-8, flying from Ahmedabad to London, crashed just outside the airport perimeter on June 12, less than a minute after departure. 241 onboard, including ten crew members, were killed, and at least 30 on ground. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Sharp Design, Smoother Drives. Toyota Glanza Learn More Undo Here's what the AAIB report doesn't answer yet: What triggered the dual engine shutdown ? Live Events The most critical unknown is what led to both Engine 1 and Engine 2 shutting down at 08:08:42 UTC (1.38 PM IST). The pilots denied triggering the shutdown, and there is no evidence of bird strike, sabotage, or fuel contamination so far. Also Read: Air India plane crash report out; Both engines 'cut off' mid-air '01 second apart', pilots in cockpit left confused about cause The EAFR confirms the switches moved from 'RUN' to 'CUTOFF,' but the report does not explain whether this was a mechanical failure, an electrical issue, or a software anomaly. Basically, the preliminary report does not reveal how the switch could have flipped to the cutoff position. Was the stabilizer sensor issue linked to the engine cutoffs? The aircraft had earlier arrived from Delhi as flight AI423, and the previous crew had reported a fault code related to the stabilizer position sensor ('STAB POS XDCR'). Although Air India engineers addressed the issue and cleared the aircraft for its next flight, the investigation has not linked or ruled out any connection between this sensor fault and the subsequent failure. Also Read: Air India plane crash- Previous crew logged defect report related to flight's stabilizer sensor, reveals probe findings Is this possibly a case of human error, systemic failure, or broader design issue? This is the central question investigators are still examining. The AAIB has not ruled in or ruled out the possibility of crew error, aircraft system malfunction, or design-related fault. The crew had sufficient rest, cleared preflight checks, and followed procedures. However, the investigation is still reviewing cockpit actions, system inputs, and procedural adherence in the minutes before the crash. Furthermore, the flight data is still under analysis, and additional information from Boeing and GE is being sought. Was the aircraft's emergency power sequence fully functional? The RAT deployed and the APU began to auto-start, but the full effectiveness of the aircraft's emergency power systems, including their role in relight attempts and hydraulic recovery, has not been elaborated in the report.

Men posing as women to get nudes; what's the creepy new catfish trend on OnlyFans?

New Zealand's most-followed OnlyFans star, Layla Kelly , has revealed that a growing number of male subscribers are posing as women to gain access to exclusive content, using stolen images of real, unsuspecting women, often including intimate or even nude photos. Kelly described the practice as 'creepy' and a violation of consent, stating that this manipulation is becoming disturbingly common on the platform. Toyota Glanza Learn More Undo What is the new trend? The phenomenon, known as catfishing, is a bit different from the traditional one. Here, scammers are not limited to creating false identities, men creating fake female profiles, often using photos of women sourced without permission, and then messaging adult creators under false pretenses and, to some extent, stealing their photos. Live Events 'I personally don't have a problem with people pretending to be someone else if that's their fetish,' Kelly told 'But where it crosses the line is when someone, who hasn't given permission, is having their identity and photos used unknowingly, especially given this is a very intimate platform.' In one extreme case, a man reportedly sent Kelly a wedding photo alongside a driver's license, likely belonging to a wife or sister, a deception she found deeply disturbing. Former OnlyFans creator Lucy Banks , now running a marketing agency for digital creators, echoed Kelly's concerns. Banks explained that while many men carry out these acts under specific fetishes or to obtain free content, they often expose themselves quickly through awkward language or requests. 'There were several times where I'd get messages like, 'Hey, I'm Mandy , I'm thinking about getting my boobs done, can you show me yours?'' she said. 'They think they're clever, but we can spot it a mile away.' She also recalled a subscriber with a medical examination fetish who would frequently ask invasive and sexualised questions under the guise of needing female health advice. Why is it concerning? Beyond creators' personal discomfort, the deeper concern lies in the non-consensual use of women's images, often intimate ones, taken from social media or personal accounts. 'It is illegal in New Zealand and Australia to steal someone's identity and distribute naked images without consent,' Kelly told. 'If anyone is doing this or thinking of doing this, they need to understand the legal consequences.' Kelly has since posted videos to warn her followers and raise awareness, captioning one clip: 'Consent matters, guys.' She urges others in the industry to remain cautious and for platform users to understand the ethical and legal boundaries being crossed.
