He-Man and Skeletor's Weapons Have Traveled from Eternia to San Diego

So we're walking around the Mattel booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, and, lo and behold, we witnessed the power of Grayskull. Nestled among a mountain of new Masters of the Universe toys on display at the convention, the company surprised fans with the live-action versions of He-Man's Power Sword and Skeletor's Havoc Staff on display at the convention. And they are stunning. The props are from the June 5, 2026, film Masters of the Universe, directed by Travis Knight and starring Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and Jared Leto as Skeletor. A few images of the Power Sword have made it online, but this is our best look yet at it and the Havoc Staff. Let's start with the sword. There you can see lots of the detail on the piece. It's pretty incredible. Plus there was a little fact sheet with it too, and it started with this quote: 'Wielded by champions and whispered about in legends, the Power Sword is Eternia's ultimate symbol of might, brought to life for the 2026 live-action adventure.' So that's He-Man's weapon of choice. What about his nemesis, Skeletor? Here's the Havoc Staff. The booth had this one in a less flattering but much more menacing light, so it was difficult to get close enough to see all the details. But the horns and eyes on the skull are super creepy, and the carvings on the staff itself are very intricate. It too has the power, but will it be enough to beat He-Man? Here's the little fact sheet on the Havoc Staff too. There was a lot of cool stuff on the floor at Comic-Con, and certainly plenty that we missed, but these props of iconic weapons from this highly anticipated movie may just have been our favorite. Here's a little video too. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nicholas Galitzine (@nicholasgalitzine) The London-born star wrote on Instagram: "Well, that's a wrap on Masters of the Universe. It has been an honour shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He Man. "It's been the role of a lifetime and I put everything into it. There's not much I can show you, but I am so proud of the movie we've made. Thanks to our amazing cast and crew for all your hard work." Galitzine previously confirmed via a post on TikTok that filming had wrapped on the movie. He wrote on the video-sharing app: "No ships left to fly that's a wrap on masters of the universe!! Dolph Lundgren Teases 'Secret' Role in New MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Movie — GeekTyrant

The Power Sword may have a new wielder, but one legendary champion of Eternia might still have a part to play in the upcoming new Masters of the Universe movie. Dolph Lundgren, who played He-Man in the cult 1987 Masters of the Universe film, has hinted that he may be returning, though not in the way fans might expect. With Amazon MGM Studios' live-action Masters of the Universe movie officially wrapped, the studio has kept a lot of details under wraps. But, during a recent chat with Mens Journal , Lundgren was asked about the persistent rumors that he's involved in the reboot. His response? Just coy enough to fuel the fire. 'It's a bit of a secret, but I can't say much. But yeah, maybe I'll get involved somehow. We'll see.' totally in it. The project has been in development limbo for years, with several directors and writers taking stabs at the franchise reboot. It finally gained real momentum under Amazon/MGM with Bumblebee director Travis Knight at the helm and Chris Butler rewriting a script originally drafted by David Callaham ( Shang-Chi ). Filming took place in London, which, interestingly enough, is where Lundgren had teased he was working on a 'secret' project not too long ago. As for who he might play, the strongest fan theory floating around suggests King Grayskull, a powerful ancestor of He-Man and an ideal role for Lundgren's commanding presence. While that casting remains unconfirmed, it would be a cool way to honor his legacy in the franchise. Lundgren also offered some thoughtful commentary on the tone of the new movie and how it compares to today's superhero fare: 'If you think a new He-Man movie makes you feel old, I feel old! I was in it! They've been trying to remake the picture for at least 15 years, and I'm glad they're doing it. There's a great cast, a great crew. It's a big budget picture with MGM/Amazon. I think they're doing a great job. 'Prince Adam has a bit more romanticism to the character than other superheroes. Marvel and DC are a little harder-edged. There's something magical and childlike about it. And even though they're kind of making an adult picture, there's something soft and positive about that character.' The story for the new film follows '10-year-old Prince Adam who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia. After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!' Masters of the Universe is slated to hit theaters on June 5, 2026.
