Post Malone's ‘Diamond' Album Is His Latest To Reach A Special Landmark
Post Malone is used to busy weeks on the charts — it's practically his norm at this point. The rapper, singer, and genre-jumper has been a regular across a variety of rankings, mostly in Western markets, for years now. But even by his own high standards, this frame is especially notable in the United Kingdom, as his only two charting successes both have reason to celebrate. Malone dropped The Diamond Collection in mid-2023 as his first compilation, a set centered around the many diamond-certified singles he's earned in the U.S. Since then, it's become something of a permanent fixture on charts all over the world. That's not too surprising, as collections packed with greatest hits tend to have incredible staying power, especially in the streaming age. The Diamond Collection hits the two-year mark on the Official Albums chart in the U.K. That's 104 weeks spent on the most important album ranking in that country. At the same time, it also reaches the same milestone on the Official Albums Streaming roster. The overlap isn't coincidental. Its strong performance on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music is exactly what's helped it stick around for so long. Even as it celebrates two full years on the charts, The Diamond Collection continues to perform well. This frame, the compilation holds steady at No. 40 on the Official Albums chart. It even sees a bit of positive movement on the Official Albums Streaming list, lifting one spot to No. 33. That kind of consistency two years in is a testament to Malone's popularity, as well as the cross-genre appeal of the songs that made the cut. With The Diamond Collection now a 104-week veteran, it joins a growing list of Malone's albums that have shown impressive longevity in the U.K. Four of his seven charting full-lengths have now spent at least two years on the Official Albums ranking. Leading the pack is his debut Stoney, which has logged a whopping 169 frames on the tally. That's followed by Beerbongs & Bentleys with 145 weeks and Hollywood's Bleeding, which trails closely behind at 131. While The Diamond Collection extends its run, Malone also has something brand new out for fans to enjoy. His latest project, Tribute to Nirvana, enters four U.K. charts this frame. The full-length set, which honors the legendary grunge band, launches highest on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, where it debuts at No. 5, and it gives Malone his first-ever placement on that particular ranking. A Tribute to Nirvana also makes appearances on three other tallies. That includes a modest but meaningful debut inside the top 40 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart.

Post Malone Hits The Top 10 For The First Time By Changing Genres — Again
Post Malone's Nirvana tribute album debuts at No. 5 on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart in the ... More U.K., marking his first top 10 on that tally. DOHA, QATAR - DECEMBER 16: Post Malone performs during the Qatar Fashion United by CR Runway show at Stadium 974 on December 16, 2022 in Doha, Qatar. (Photo by) Post Malone has been a mainstay on pop and hip-hop rankings for years now. This week, the genre-blurring superstar lands a new kind of hit in Britain, and it might be one of the most surprising of his career so far. Malone debuts a special tribute to Nirvana on multiple charts across the pond, as it's an immediate commercial success. The set performs well across the board, but it's one style-specific list where the effort makes perhaps its most meaningful impact. The superstar's Tribute to Nirvana kicks off its time on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart in the U.K. at No. 5. That list ranks the top-selling full-lengths in any style of rock, from hard rock to metal and everything in between. While Malone has flirted with alternative sounds throughout his career — most notably with tracks like 'Take What You Want' with Ozzy Osbourne — Tribute to Nirvana marks his first full-length release to be classified in the rock genre. According to the Official Charts Company, the effort qualifies for the Rock & Metal Albums chart, and it now stands out as the musician's debut appearance on the genre-specific tally. This is not the first time Malone has crossed into a new musical space and walked away with a win. Less than a year ago, in August 2024, the hitmaker reached another genre-focused ranking in the U.K. for the first time. His latest traditional studio LP F-1 Trillion brought him to the Official Country Artists Albums chart, where it hit No. 1 and stayed on the list for 35 weeks — five of those in the top spot. That pivot to country was a bold move, considering Malone had built his name on a fusion of hip-hop and pop. But just like his latest rock effort, F-1 Trillion proved that he could find success outside his expected lanes. He's also enjoyed a lengthy career on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart in the U.K., where five of his past projects have reached the top five. Beerbongs & Bentleys and Hollywood's Bleeding both soared all the way to No. 1, while Stoney, Twelve Carat Toothache, and The Diamond Collection have each managed to spend at least a small amount of time inside that uppermost region. During the earliest days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when people were scared and at home, Malone decided to do something special to entertain his fans. He performed a livestream concert, filled with covers of Nirvana songs, as he is apparently a huge fan of the group. While the livestream show is remembered fondly, it had never been released for traditional consumption – until Record Store Day 2025. Malone served as an ambassador for this year's event, and he showed up in a big way by not only lending his fame to the organization, but by delivering one of the most exciting exclusives this time around. With this debut, Malone becomes part of an extremely small group of artists who have managed to score top 10 albums on genre-specific tallies dedicated to hip-hop, country, and now rock in the U.K. It's possible that he is the first musician ever to pull off the feat in Britain, or at least the first in a very long time. Historically, genre-hopping wasn't always seen as a strength, especially among longtime fans of an artist. But in today's increasingly fluid musical world, it's all but expected of the biggest names in the business.

Post Malone's Nirvana Tribute May Finally Chart — Half A Decade Late
Post Malone's Tribute to Nirvana may be one of the most exciting and biggest releases for Record ... More Store Day 2025, and it shows another side of the star. LONDON, ENGLAND - JULY 06: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Post Malone performs during Wireless Festival 2018 at Finsbury Park on July 6th, 2018 in London, England. (Photo by Lorne Thomson/Redferns) Post Malone has never been shy about experimenting with genre. He launched his career in hip-hop, dominated pop for years, and more recently found surprising success in country music with F-1 Trillion, which brought him back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Now, the superstar is returning to rock, but not with brand new material. For Record Store Day 2025, Malone has signed on to serve as the official ambassador, lending his name and influence to the annual celebration of vinyl and independent music stores. And he's doing more than just smiling for the camera or promoting the event – he's sharing a new collection…sort of. Malone is releasing a special album titled Post Malone Tribute to Nirvana, which is certain to be one of the most in-demand items during Record Store Day this year. The set isn't exactly new, but it's never been released in any official format before now. Back on April 24, 2020, early in the COVID-19 pandemic, Malone livestreamed a performance from home in honor of Nirvana. The show featured Blink-182's Travis Barker, and it was highly-viewed and earned him praise for his performance. At the time, it helped reshape Malone's image, proving that he wasn't just a genre-hopping pop star, but someone who genuinely respected and understood rock music, particularly grunge. Nearly five years later, the audio from that livestream is being pressed onto a yellow vinyl, which is exclusive to Record Store Day 2025. The two-LP set features 14 tracks, including many of Nirvana's most iconic songs like "Come As You Are," "Heart-Shaped Box," "Something In The Way," "Lithium," and "In Bloom." "Smells Like Teen Spirit" isn't included, though. Post Malone Tribute to Nirvana is being produced in a larger quantity than almost anything else available for Record Store Day this year. A whopping 17,000 copies will be made available to buy, and that marks the largest pressing of any exclusive release this year. That number alone shows that Malone isn't just trying to support indie stores, he's also aiming for another major Billboard win. Because the album won't be available on streaming services (at least initially), and fans can't order it online, those 17,000 vinyl records will represent the title's first-week sales. If it can sell even half of those, which seems possible, the set will have a real shot at appearing on charts like the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales tally, where physical sales are weighted heavily. This rock collection arrives less than a year after Malone shocked fans with his full pivot to country music. His 2024 album F-1 Trillion gave him yet another No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and produced a new chart-topping single on the Hot 100. Now, Post Malone Tribute to Nirvana marks yet another genre turn.
