To mark the occasion TYPEBEA – co-founded by Rita Ora and Anna Lahey – has launched 25% off sitewide, which is music to our ears. For years I have battled with Trichotillomania and will regularly pull out strands of hair for hours on end, only to find a puddle of hair by my side. I have found other mechanisms to curb this 'anxiety tick', but it has made me conscious of sparse patches along my hairline. I have tried almost every lotion and potion, and supplement, but nothing has been as effective in causing visible hair growth than TypeBea's G1 Overnight Peptide Serum. Anyone who speaks to me, or asks for my hair tips, it's this serum. This lightweight serum is fast-absorbing, lightweight on the scalp and non-greasy. It has been formulated with baicapil and peptides that are gentle on the skin but work to support healthy hair growth, hair density and combat hair loss. BUY NOW FOR £32.35 (WAS £43) The G1 serum is lightweight on my scalp, and non-greasy, so I can apply a few drops on the targeted area morning or night without having to restyle my hair, which is a rare feature. The serum is an innovative formulation because it is a pH balancing formula and can be applied on clean or dirty hair and it will still be effective. Whereas, other hair growth serums I have tried have to be applied to clean hair, which is then left looking greasy after applying a serum. It is also fast absorbing, which is why you aren't left with that sticky residue after applying a few drops of the serum on your hair. The serum contains Baicapil, which is the key ingredient to stimulate hair growth, improve hair density and combat hair loss. It has also been made without sulphates, silicones and parabens, so it is gentle on all hair and scalp types. It is also super simple to use, just drop 1ml of the product via the pipette onto the targeted area and massage in. That's it. More Trending It's effective, it's gentle, and it's now even more affordable now it's on sale for £32.35. However, if you are an avid fan you can opt for TYPEBEA's subscribe and save option. Shoppers can select a 14-day or 90-day subscription, all of which will be reduced by 15% so you will never be without the serum. TYPEBEA also recommends using alongside other products, and I have tried the Growth shampoo and conditioner, which equally impressed me in leaving my hair ultra clean. The Growth Shampoo can be purchased separately for £17.25 down from £23, or as a duo alongside the matching G3 Growth Conditioner. Alternatively, shop the full four-piece set, aka The Growth Routine Kit, which includes the G1 Overnight Boosting Peptide Serum, G2 Strength and Length Shampoo, G3 Strength and Length Conditioner, as well as G4 Hydra-Gloss Treatment for £77.63 reduced from £103.50. The discount is automatically applied at the checkout, so all you have to do is add your favourites to your virtual basket. Rafizi complains about bullies sending him photos of his baldness

IT IS not easy being in the shoes of Rafizi Ramli. Months prior, he vacated his office after losing the PKR deputy president position to the daughter of PMX. And now, he is losing hair too as highlighted in a recent post on X. He lightly commented that he was being bullied by the members of the parliament who took photos of him from behind and sending it to him. The problem? His baldness of course. Netizens who read the post were tickled pink by it. A good many of them even suggested 'ways' for him to remedy the situation. Indah khabar dari rupa. Depan lain belakang lain. Makin menjadi-jadi ahli parlimen buli aku dengan ambik gambar kepala botak. Tiap-tiap hari ada je orang hantar gambar kepala botak. (Ini hasil tangan Balik Pulau, Dato' Bakhtiar 🤣) — Rafizi Ramli (@rafiziramli) August 4, 2025 According to @ImanLuns in the comment section, sometimes what falls first is not the hair but one's principle. 'Luckily for YB, only your hair fell off, not your principles,' he said. Then there was @draididr who remembered what his father said about people who quickly get white hair or hair loss due to them thinking a lot. Another netizen added that Rafizi should just wear a Songkok like Tajuddin Rahman to cover up the baldness while @wearitbn suggested a Kopiah. Is this a subtle hint for him to move over to PAS? Perhaps the winning comment goes to @Artemis281072 who said Rafizi could have used a black marker. What is he supposed to do with it? Colour all over the bald spot? On another note, does stress cause baldness? According to the Mayo Clinic, there are three forms of hair loss associated with stress, namely Telogen effluvium, Trichotillomania and Alopecia areata. In Telogen effluvium, significant stress pushes large numbers of hair follicles into a resting phase. Within a few months, affected hairs might fall out suddenly when simply combing or washing your hair. With Alopecia areata, the body's immune system attacks the hair follicles, causing hair loss. But stress and hair loss don't have to be permanent. 'And if you get your stress under control, your hair might grow back,' said the Mayo Clinic. Hopefully, the future will see a hairier Rafizi bouncing back to his feet after recovering from the recent upheaval in PKR. —Aug 6, 2025 Main image: @rafiziramli (X)

Earlier this year, after a visit to the talented Trichologist Hannah Gaboardi, I was told my hair pulling habits were a trait of Trichotillomania. While my case isn't severe, over time this could have a serious impact on my hair growth and scalp health. This 'anxious tick', as some told me I had, was a self soothing mechanism when I felt nervous, stressed, or was bored. I would seek out split ends, pull them like a thread to see the frayed ends ladder, or pull out the entire hair strand. I was told it annoyed people watching me pull out strands, or leave a trail of hair in my wake. I was even told by former colleagues it looked like I had a receding hairline because I was pulling at my fringe so frequently in the office. I have tried fidget spinners, ditched coffee, had hypnotherapy, among other stress management techniques to quit the habit, but no avail. I have tried countless hair growth supplements, collagen sachets, serums and shampoos to stimulate hair growth, to undo the damage. So far, only one haircare product has proved to be my saving grace: TypeBea's G1 Overnight Boosting Peptide serum. BUY NOW FOR £34.40 (WAS £43) Trichotillomania is damaging because tugging at each strand can cause the hair follicle and scalp to become inflamed. Pulling out the hair also impacts the hair growth cycle, can cause scarring and result in the hair follicle closing altogether. Although my hair wasn't at this stage, the hair expert noticed some inflamed areas around the sides of my head, and she warned if I continued this habit I would, in time, be facing more serious irreparable damage later on. After this wake-up call I set to work finding an effective solution, and the launch of TypeBea was perfectly timed. TYPEBEA launched in the UK earlier this year, and is the brainchild of Vida Glow founder Anna Lahey and Rita Ora – an interesting partnership, but the backing of Anna intrigued me. The G1 serum – otherwise known as the Overnight Boosting Peptide Serum – is part of the brand's six-piece collection. It is a lightweight formula that is non-stick or greasy, but aims to stimulate hair growth no matter your hair type. Infused with Baicapil and nourishing peptides, this leave-in treatment works to penetrate the scalp, promote healthy hair growth, increase the hair thickness and prevent hair loss. The G1 serum is free from parabens, silicone, and sulphate for a gentle haircare solution. TYPEBEA has claimed it can prevent hair loss by up to 60%, which are impressive claims. While I would typically swat such bold statements away, I have witnessed first-hand how fast-acting this product is, as I noticed visible results rapidly. Admittedly, I was dubious about yet another hair growth serum at first, but within one month of using the serum, I noticed fine baby hairs growing along my hairline. I applied a few drops of the pH-balancing liquid formula along my hairline, as well as the areas I tend to pick at, massaged into my scalp and let it sit overnight. There really isn't much to it, which is why I was so surprised to see new hair sprouting up so quickly. This serum doesn't need to be washed out, and it doesn't even need to be applied on clean hair, or wet locks, which is unlike other hair growth treatments I have tried, and makes it super easy to use. It is suitable for all hair textures, types and lengths, as well as on coloured and treated hair too. More Trending I thought the first few months were a fluke, and put those new tufts down to just standard hair growth. Fast-forward a few months and the hair growth has amazed me. I've even visited a separate expert Trichologist at Phillip Kingsley who told me my hair density is now 'phenomenal', as my parting is full. This was the reassurance I needed, as it is a sign my hair, and scalp, have not suffered irreparable damage despite decades of hair pulling. By no means am I saying this is a cure for hair conditions, such as alopecia, and I am aware there are other factors involved in hair loss, such as diet, environment, and genetics. But, in my experience, TYPEBEA's serum has worked wonders and I will continue to use until the end of time. Ever the bargain hunter, I have found the G1 Serum in stock and on sale for £34.40 down from £43 at Debenhams. Though TYPEBEA's G1 Overnight Serum comes with a heftier price tag compared to rival brands, it's worth every penny in my books, so shop fast if you want healthy and fuller tresses.
