Charlotte Hawkins announces 'terrifying' news away from ITV Good Morning Britain

Good Morning Britain star Charlotte Hawkins took to social media to share some "terrifying" news with fans as she revealed she had been filming away from the ITV show Charlotte Hawkins has taken to social media to share some news with her followers. ‌ The presenter of Good Morning Britain made an announcement on her Instagram account on Saturday (July 19), revealing that she has recorded an episode for the BBC's The Weakest Link. ‌ She posted a collection of behind-the-scenes photographs from the set of the legendary quiz show, which is scheduled to be broadcast later in the year. ‌ Charlotte joined forces with celebrities such as Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver, Strictly Come Dancing alum Nicola Adams, and comedian Josh Widdicombe for the filming. Her caption read: "Some exciting filming - taking part in The Weakest Link! Just a bit terrifying... you'll have to watch later in the year to see how we all did! #weakestlink #quizshow #quiz.", reports the Mirror. ‌ Fans were quick to flood her post with comments, with one fan exclaiming: "Great photos and looking fab." Another chimed in: "You are absolutely brilliant Charlotte Hawkins." While a third remarked: "Probably smashed it." ‌ A fourth follower speculated: "I'd say you did alright looking at that pic." This update follows an incident where Charlotte had to issue an on-air apology to a Good Morning Britain guest after becoming visibly moved during an interview. ‌ On Tuesday's programme (July 15), Charlotte and co-host Richard Madeley engaged in conversation with Tristan, a man mourning the loss of his wife to breast cancer. Dr Susan Michaelis, prior to her passing, was a staunch advocate for research into lobular breast cancer, a condition she battled for 14 years. During her conversation with Tristan on the programme, Charlotte appeared to be visibly moved as the interview came to a close. ‌ Tristan expressed his gratitude: "Thank you to all the women who have this disease, for giving it some airtime." To which Richard responded: "Oh, it's you that deserves the thanks." ‌ Charlotte then remarked: "Thank you for coming in when this has only just happened, and you know, I know that obviously, you were supremely proud of her and everything she was doing." As the ITV presenter spoke, it was evident she was becoming emotional, with her voice wavering and tears nearly escaping. She went on to say: "I know she would be so proud of you continuing this fight. Sorry, it's one of things that have effected a lot of people this morning." Tristan informed the hosts that the Lobular Moon Shot Project is the most politically backed campaign currently and he is determined not to cease until the funds are secured for the researchers. His wife, who tragically died earlier in the month, initiated the Lobular Moon Shot Project in 2023 with the aim of gathering £20m to invest in research into the biology of invasive lobular breast cancer.

Tristan commented: "Thank you to all the women who have this disease, for giving it some airtime." Richard replied: "Oh, it's you that deserves the thanks." ‌ Charlotte added: "Thank you for coming in when this has only just happened, and you know, I know that obviously, you were supremely proud of her and everything she was doing." However, as the ITV star was speaking, it was clear she was getting emotional as her voice started to break, holding back tears. ‌ She continued: "I know she would be so proud of you continuing this fight. Sorry, it's one of things that have effected a lot of people this morning." Tristan told the two presenters that the Lobular Moon Shot Project is the most politically supported campaign there is and he won't stop until the money is given to the researchers. His wife, who sadly passed away earlier this month, founded the Lobular Moon Shot Project back in 2023 to try and raise £20m in funding to go into research for the biology of invasive lobular breast cancer.
