Man 'banned' from Ryanair after being hauled off flight for 'vaping in toilet'
A passenger was kicked off a Ryanair flight to a popular holiday hotspot for allegedly vaping in the bathroom and setting off the fire alarm. The 21-year-old man reportedly caused a two-hour delay to his flight after he allegedly puffed on a vape in the plane's bathroom before the aircraft was due to depart Edinburgh Airport for Alicante in Spain on July 3. Footage captured by fellow passenger Tristan James Walker shows the man being escorted off the plane by six police officers before being hauled into a van on the tarmac. According to Mr Walker, the 21-year-old man was caught after the lavatory smoke detector went off. After the alarm sounded, the pilot is said to have informed the accused he would be removed from the plane. Mr Walker told Luxury Travel Daily: "A young lad in a group happened to set the alarm off for apparently vaping. "The pilot then came out after the air stewardess explained what happened, and then the pilot stated he would be removed from the plane. "The young lad waited for over six police officers to come on board. "He was taken off, he was very calm, did not argue or anything, no drama. "We then happened to bump into him on Benidorm's famous strip and he told us he just got a caution and was banned from Ryanair." Authorities have confirmed the 21-year-old suspect has been charged in relation to an aviation offence. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 7.55 am on Thursday, July 3, 2025 were called to an aircraft at Edinburgh Airport. "Officers attended, and a 21-year-old man was charged in connection with an aviation offence. A report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal." Ryanair passenger removed from Edinburgh flight after 'vaping in toilet'
The Ryanair passenger, a 21-year-old man, was removed from the Edinburgh Airport flight after he was accused of committing an aviation offence. A RyanAir passenger was marched off a plane by six police officers at Edinburgh Airport after allegedly vaping in a cabin toilet. A 21-year-old man caused a two-hour delay to his flight after it is said he puffed on a vape in the loo before the plane was due to take off at Edinburgh Airport for Alicante, Spain. Police are said to have stormed the aircraft and detained the young man on suspicion of breaching aviation laws, reports the Mirror. Tristan James Walker, one of the passengers waiting for the plane to leave, filmed the encounter. The 39-year-old man claims the toilet's smoke detector was triggered, resulting in the lad's swift ejection. Mr Walker said the man on his flight was bundled into a police van amid their delay. Authorities have confirmed the 21-year-old suspect has been charged in relation to an aviation offence. Speaking yesterday about the footage, shot on July 3, Mr Walker said: "A young lad in a group happened to set the alarm off for apparently vaping. "The pilot then came out after the air stewardess explained what happened, and then the pilot stated he would be removed from the plane. The young lad waited for over six police officers to come on board. "He was taken off, he was very calm, didn't argue or anything, no drama. We previously reported, in a separate incident, that an Edinburgh-bound easyJet flight was forced to make an emergency landing at a Bulgarian airport after technical difficulties, with passengers reporting a 'disgusting smell'. At around 9.55pm UK time on July 22, easyJet flight EZY3282 from Dalaman, Turkey, to the Scottish capital took off and was due to arrive at around 12.45am on Wednesday morning. However, the aircraft was forced to make a U-turn over Serbia and land in Sofia, Bulgaria, roughly two hours into the journey following a reported technical issue. EasyJet said that the plane was due to complete the remainder of the journey on the following day. Karen, a passenger, from Drumchapel in Glasgow, claimed that the plane was diverted due to a "disgusting" smell. She said: "Two hours into our flight, everybody started smelling this horrible smell. It smelled of a dirty nappy. It was disgusting. "It clearly went all the way through to the cockpit because the pilot got on the tannoy and spoke to the whole plane. "He told us that he had never smelled anything like this in all his years as a pilot and we would have to divert to Bulgaria so it could be investigated."

Passenger kicked off flight after causing 2-hour delay over major plane violation
He went one toke over the air-line. A passenger was escorted off the aircraft by six cops after he was busted vaping in the lavatory, which resulted in a two-hour delay. 'He was taken off, he was very calm, didn't argue or anything, no drama,' eyewitness Tristan James Walker, 39, who captured the incident on camera, told Jam Press. The infraction occurred on July 3 at Edinburgh airport in Scotland aboard a Ryanair flight that was flying to Alicante, Spain. The aircraft was slated to depart at 9:45 a.m., but was reportedly delayed after a staffer fell ill.. The passengers' dreams of a smooth flight subsequently went up in smoke after the butt-huffing hellion decided to have an impromptu vape break. Walker said that the lavatory smoke detector went off, reportedly triggered by said bozo puffing away on his e-cigarette inside like it was an in-flight smoking lounge. 'The pilot then came out after the air stewardess explained what happened, and then the pilot stated he would be removed from the plane,' recalled Walker. Shortly thereafter, a sextet of authorities boarded the plane and escorted the vaping enthusiast off the aircraft and into a van on the tarmac, as seen in the viral clip. Despite being forcibly deplaned, the young passenger reportedly disembarked without a fuss. All told, the incident pushed the flight back by two hours. Coincidentally, Walker happened to bump into the bozo later at the famous nightlife hub, Calle Gerona, in Benidorm, Spain, whereupon the fellow informed them that he'd reportedly been blacklisted by Ryanair. Police Scotland spokesperson reported in a statement that the '21-year-old man was charged in connection with an aviation offence.' This isn't the first time some tobacco-toking travelers have caused a major flight delay. Last month, passengers were stranded in a 'war zone' at a Maine airport for over 17 hours after their flight was diverted due to a couple of ash-holes puffing cigarettes on board.
