Kristen Stewart on getting her film financed: Had to leave the US to make it possible
Los Angeles, Hollywood actor Kristen Stewart says it wasn't easy to secure financing for her directorial debut "The Chronology of Water". Stewart's film premiered at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival on Friday in the Un Certain Regard section. Featuring Imogen Poots in the lead, the film is based on Lidia Yuknavitch's 2011 memoir. Known for her work in projects such as "Twilight Saga" and "Clouds of Sils Maria", Stewart said she had to go to Europe to get finances for her film. "We had to leave the United States to make this possible," she said at the film gala, according to the entertainment news outlet The Hollywood Reporter. "The list of women and men that can finance a movie in the entertainment industry are so beyond me. They change so quickly and I don't understand them at all," she added. Stewart was in conversation with "Chronology" actor and musician Kim Gordon at Hyde Beach by Campari held by Breaking Through Lens, a non-profit group focused on helping any filmmakers who experience marginalisation due to their gender get their projects financed. The 35-year-old actor-director who recently married screenwriter-producer Dylan Meyer said she thought she wasn't the right choice to star in "Chronology", but is open to featuring in her own directorial in future. "I would love to in something I direct, and I will do it soon, I hope. I feel like I am watching my kid in kindergarten like, 'Look at her go!'," she said. At the event, Simbelle Productions founder Lauren Melinda announced the Simbelle Impact Award, a USD 10,000 unrestricted grant which is given to one finalist of the next Breaking Through Lens grant cycle. Cannes 2025 will come to a close on May 24.

Twilight star who went nude with Nicole Kidman in controversial film shocks with dramatic transformation
This former child star underwent a shocking, dramatic transformation in the years since he once starred alongside Nicole Kidman in a controversial film. The actor was previously involved in controversy after he and Kidman — with whom he shares a 25-year age gap — filmed a 'creepy' bathtub scene together in Birth. Since starring in the 2004 psychological thriller, he has appeared in various minor projects but most notably starred in three installments of The Twilight Saga. Cameron Bright, now 32, has since stepped away from the limelight and taken up fishing as he occasionally shows off his catches on social media. Over four years ago, he opened up about wanting to become a film producer and shared a Instagram post of a script he was working on with a friend. However, it appears that he has since decided to become a video game streamer on Twitch nowadays and currently resides in Vancouver Island, Canada after leaving Hollywood behind. In early February, he shared photos of himself partaking in island fishing and showing off his haul while fishing off of a boat in the ocean. He looked unrecognizable bundled up for fishing on the chilly weather after his dramatic transformation since his child and teenage acting years. Over two decades ago, the film he starred in alongside Kidman, 57, was the subject of controversy due to the age gap between the leading stars and their nude bathtub scene, which many critics called 'creepy' at the time. He is also known for his work in the Twilight movie series. Bright played the Volturi vampire Alec, twin brother to Jane, who is played by Dakota Fanning, in the Twilight films New Moon (2009), Eclipse (2010), and Breaking Dawn, Part II (2012). The premise of the thriller Birth follows Kidman as a widow named Anna, who is planning to marry her boyfriend Joseph (Danny Huston) about 10 years after her late husband Sean's death. Just as she's about to move on, however, a young boy named Sean turns up on the night of her engagement party and tells her that he is her late husband reincarnated. At first, she ignores him but when he reveals his uncanny knowledge of her former husband's life, she starts to believe that he could be telling her the truth. The movie, which was directed by Jonathan Glazer, was heavily criticized at the time of its release but fans have grown to praise the film over time. Last year, the Babygirl actress revisited and reflected on the movie as she talked about how she does not agree with people who call the movie 'strange' and 'unsettling.' 'I just have an enormous amount of trust,' she told the Los Angeles Times in April 2024. 'I will just go places and align with people and go, "Here I am. I'm yours. We'll live and die together."' When the interviewer called the movie 'strange' and 'unsettling,' Kidman responded: 'I don't find it strange but maybe that means I'm strange. 'But I never found it strange. I found it profound, the way it deals with grief and how people will fill holes to explain things, needing to explain things and then being incredibly open to all possibilities when you're in a deeply vulnerable state. 'And also, the idea that grief isn't finite because it most definitely isn't. Grief never ends. And you see it at that scene at the opera. She just releases into believing that it is him, this little boy is her husband. For her, it's the easier path. '

'Twilight' Fans, Bella Swan's House Is Bookable on Airbnb
It's 2008, you're wearing your favorite pair of straight-leg jeans, a bowling T-shirt, and distressed sneakers. It's your first day of school in Forks, Washington, and you already have plenty of new friends. The one thing you can't figure out is why that boy in science class despises you on sight. Such is the life of Bella Swan, one that fans all over the world are eager to relive in any way possible. Thanks to Netflix's recent re-addition of all five of the Twilight Saga films, you can now engage in one of life's greatest pastimes: rewatching the series from start to finish. And while you can't actually step into Bella Swan's shoes and live out a nostalgic 2000s high-school romance yourself, you can step into her home and rent it for a few nights on Airbnb. With decor that was pulled straight from the movie, including Bella's vintage headboard and footboard, her purple floral bedspread (which has been retired from use due to its fragility, but is still available on display inside), and wall art, you'll feel like you stepped right on screen with the cast. Walk the same driveway where Bella's red pickup truck was parked (but watch for ice), gaze out the windows to the front and backyard for your New Moon moment post-Edward's disappearance, or have a bite to eat in the colorful green kitchen. The exterior of the Twilight house The Swan's green kitchen featuring a dining table used in the films Inside, it's much larger than expected based on the film, with five bedrooms, a good-sized kitchen—where you can dine at the same table used in the film by Bella's dad, Charlie—and plenty of space for up to eight guests. While Bella's iconic bedroom features the second smallest bed (a double), you'll likely fight for who gets to stay in it anyway. The other bedrooms include the Jacob-themed room on the first floor (with a queen bed and a cutout of him) and a room overlooking the front yard (which is the very same one where Bella spots Edward's car parked in the driveway). The house is technically located in St. Helens, Oregon, about 230 miles south of Forks, Washington, and 30 miles north of Portland, Oregon, so it's a great stopping point on a Twilight-themed road trip up the Pacific Coast. St. Helens is not quite as rainy as Forks, and also experiences slightly warmer temperatures, which makes it ideal for exploring the area without fear of weather causing any issues. With close proximity to Vancouver, Washington, and the Columbia River Gorge, there's plenty to do even outside of Twilight-themed activities if you so choose. The area is ideal for those who enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and exploring national and state parks. Reservations for this iconic spot are extremely hard to come by—right now, it's booked up indefinitely—so your best bet is to check back in on the listing periodically to see if any available dates crop up. There is usually a two-night stay minimum; however, in rare cases, the property is open for one-night stays, so keep your eyes peeled.

Seth Green and Ashley Greene cast in Peter Facinelli's Grace Period
Seth Green and Ashley Greene have been cast in new romantic comedy 'Grace Period'. The two Hollywood stars will take the lead in director Peter Facinelli's new film, which will be offered to potential buyers at Cannes Film Festival this month with production set to start in August. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will follow a woman called Willa (Greene), who makes an impulse decision to freeze her eggs. She's helped by Dr. Rubin (Matt Walsh), but things take a turn after she meets her dream man Greg (Green) and is forced to try to make things work. Filmmaker Facinelli previously acted with Greene in the 'Twilight Saga', while he starred with Green in classic 1998 teen comedy 'Can't Hardly Wait'. The script for 'Grace Period' was written by the director's real life partner Lily Anne Harrison. Facinelli said in a statement: "I'm thrilled to be back in the director's chair for Grace Period, a film that explores a timely subject matter with heart, while delivering some much-needed laughter in the world today. 'Having known Seth and Ashley for what feels like an 'eternity,' I Can't Hardly Wait to helm their incredible talent onscreen together. "With Wango Films and Peter Winther producing, and a stellar supporting cast, we're creating something truly special that audiences are going to love.' Greene and Facinelli's 'Twilight' franchise co-star Jackson Rathbone - who played Jasper Hale - recently revealed there is a secret unreleased blooper real from the movies which shows lead actress Kristen Stewart dropping a string of expletives. He told Collider: "There was one time where they put out a special blooper screening—I think this is for 'Breaking Dawn' or 'Eclipse'—where it was just every time Kristen curses. It was like, when she's messing up her lines… It's like eight minutes long. It is amazing." Meanwhile, Greene - who played Alice Cullen - revealed that she and co-star Facinelli "got into trouble" for messing with a lifesize doll that was meant to be a version of Kristen's character Bella Swan. She said: "Peter and I also got in trouble for playing with a life-sized doll of a dead Bella." Peter added: "They were shooting on stage, and we had to wait until their scene was over, but then all of a sudden I bumped into this table, and there's a life-sized Kristen Stewart laying on the table. "They made a doll for when she breaks her back. It looked exactly like her, so I bumped into it and I was like, 'Sorry, Kristen.' "
