Former Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett signing with Titans after extended free agency wait
The Tennessee Titans have apparently added a weapon for their soon-to-be new quarterback one day before the NFL Draft. Veteran wide receiver and former All-Pro returner Tyler Lockett announced on social media he's joining the Titans. He's reportedly signing a one-year, $4 million deal that can reach up to $6M with incentives, per NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. I'm excited to be a Tennessee Titan!! I'm super thankful and grateful Let's get it!! God you get all the glory!! #Thankful #Grateful #GodGetsAllTheGlory — Tyler Lockett (@TDLockett12) April 24, 2025 The signing ends Lockett's slow-burn free agency period nearly two months after he was released by the Seattle Seahawks following a 10-year career there. He'll join a Titans team slated to pick No. 1 overall in the draft Thursday, when the team is expected to take Miami quarterback Cam Ward. If it is Ward, he will have another solid veteran to work with right off the bat. The Titans' wide receiver corps already includes Calvin Ridley, Treylon Burks and Van Jefferson. It's also conceivable the Titans add further weapons later in the draft to help an offense that ranked 27th in points scored and 26th in yards gained last year. Lockett, 32, has played his entire career with the Seahawks after they took him as a third-round draft pick out of Kansas State in 2015. The speedy wideout was a consistent producer for the majority of his time in Seattle, starting as a return specialist and eventually becoming a legitimate threat at receiver. He was first-team All-Pro as a returner in 2015 and made his lone Pro Bowl in 2016. He compiled 1,000-plus receiving yards in four straight seasons from 2019-22. But his numbers began to fall off in 2023 and took a nosedive in 2024, when he finished with just 49 catches, 600 yards and two touchdowns. Though he was a beloved veteran in Seattle, the team reportedly saved $17 million in cap space by cutting him loose.

Offseason grades for entire NFC West
Offseason grades for entire NFC West PFF didn't like what the Niners did this offseason but believes in the Cardinals' moves. NFL teams have basically completed their offseason roster work. Free agency is basically over. The draft has happened. Teams are in their offseason workouts trying to get that roster ready for the season and trying to see who of all those players will make the team. So how did everyone do in the offseason? PFF graded all 32 teams for their offseason work. How did the NFC West grade out? NFC West offseason grades Analysis The D for the Niners is harsh. Yes, they did lose a lot of key players this offseason, but it was expected, and they have players they expect to fill those roles. However, the Seahawks' moves to move on from Geno Smith, Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf to then replace them with Sam Darnold, Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling are puzzling. Did they get better? They do have a young defense getting better. The Cardinals massively upgraded their defense but field their offense is fine and will progress with the talent already on the roster. The Rams already had a solid roster, moved from Kupp to Davante Adams at receiver and acquired an extra first-round pick in 2026. 2025 schedule rumors: Seahawks to play Commanders in Week 9 on SNF
2025 schedule rumors: Seahawks to play Commanders in Week 9 on SNF Familiar faces seems to be the theme for the Seattle Seahawks in 2025. The Seahawks will face Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf when they play the Titans and Steelers. Sam Darnold and Cooper Kupp will see their former teams in the Vikings and Rams as well. Now, there is another one: Dan Quinn and his Washington Commanders. Quinn was Seattle's defensive coordinator during their two Super Bowl runs in 2013 and 2014. Now he has returned to the head coaching level for the Commanders, and is fresh off a run to the NFC Championship game. The latest rumor to be leaked from the schedule comes via JP Finlay of NBC Sports. It looks like the Seahawks will be taking on the Commanders under the lights of prime time in Week 9 on Sunday Night Football. This season will mark the first visit back to the "other Washington" for the Seahawks since 2021, which was also a prime time game. Seattle fell to the then-Washington Football Team 17-15 on Monday Night Football. However, they are technically undefeated against the "Commanders" having outlasted them 29-26 during the 2023 campaign at Lumen Field. The Seahawks will get their first glimpse at the sensational Jayden Daniels, who took the league by storm last year.

Brian Callahan: Tyler Lockett still has some production left in him
Tyler Lockett recently joined the Titans, giving them a strong veteran receiver to help rookie quarterback Cam Ward. In his Thursday press conference, Tennessee head coach Brian Callahan said he feels good about adding the longtime Seahawk. 'He [has been] a productive player for a long time,' Callahan said. 'On top of that, he's a fantastic person — understands his role on a football team, understands the value he brings as a leader. Those are traits that we're looking to add as many as we can. He's still got some production left in him, I think. Still wants to play ball, and still has the desire to try to play at high level. So, excited to have him. 'Haven't had a chance to be out there with him yet, obviously. But I think he's going to bring a veteran leadership to us and veteran play style, which will complement our group well at this point. I think when we're all together, we'll have a good mix of veterans and young players to develop.' That includes the team's recent No. 1 overall pick. 'That's part of the puzzle, opportunity to have some perspective from a veteran player,' Callahan said. 'Obviously, you have Calvin [Ridley] as well, who's played quite a bit of football. Those guys, they offer perspective. They offer maybe a how-to-do things, and hey, think about this or think about that. It really does help having veteran players around a young player for the same reason it's good to have a guy like Kevin Zeitler for the guys up front. Guys that have just done it for a long time, they have perspective, they understand what it takes to be successful — and not just for a year, but for multiple years of playing at a really high level. All those guys that you can bring in help supplement your football team, bring a lot of value.' Lockett, 32, caught 49 passes for 600 yards with two touchdowns last year for Seattle in 17 games. He had 79 receptions for 894 yards with five TDs in 2023.

Former Seahawks WR Lockett says he's joining the Tennessee Titans
Associated Press Longtime Seattle Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett announced on social media Wednesday night that he is joining the Tennessee Titans. In 10 NFL seasons, all with the Seahawks, Lockett had 661 catches for 8,594 yards and 61 touchdowns. ESPN reports that Lockett has agreed to a one-year deal with a base value of $4 million. Incentives could push that to $6 million. Seattle released Lockett last month. He was a first-team All-Pro pick in 2015 and a second-team choice in 2016 and 2017. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2016. Lockett will give the Titans an experienced target to fill the role vacated by Tyler Boyd. He'll likely team up with quarterback Cam Ward, who is expected to go to Tennessee with the first pick in Thursday's NFL draft. ___ AP NFL: recommended
