'As bad as Logan Paul's forest suicide video': MrBeast faces backlash for airing video after Tyler Wall's death

MrBeast is making headlines for all the wrong reasons after uploading a controversial YouTube video. Titled "Lose 100 LBs, Win $250,000!" , the June 21, 2025 upload was meant to be inspirational, but quickly spiraled into controversy when fans claimed it was 'emotionally exploitative.' Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Why? Because it included the raw, emotional reaction of Majd, the video's star, after learning that his trainer, Coach Tyler Wall, had passed away mid-challenge. The Video That Sparked the Outrage On June 21, 2025, MrBeast uploaded Lose 100 LBs, Win $250,000!, documenting Majd's weight-loss journey. The stakes were high, and so was the motivation—Majd's trainer, Coach Tyler Wall, was his guiding force. But by Day 85, tragedy struck: Coach Wall was found dead. The moment Majd learns this on camera? It's raw, emotional... and now, extremely controversial. And yes, that exact moment made it into the final edit, complete with emotional piano music. That didn't sit well with a chunk of the internet. Fans Draw Logan Paul Comparisons Not everyone saw the video as inspiring. In fact, many found it exploitative. X user @DewEnjoyer didn't hold back: 'MrBeast adding sad piano music to the guy's reaction... is f**king disgusting. Recording it AT ALL is insane... POSTING it is inhumane.' The comparison to Logan Paul's 2017 'Suicide Forest' video, where he filmed a body in Japan's Aokigahara forest, was immediate and sharp. Another user, @drjellyfanguzzz said: 'I don't think recording somebody in their most vulnerable moments like that is healthy to show…' 'Fu*k You MrBeast' Other users felt MrBeast should've pulled the plug on the entire project after Tyler's passing. One X user wrote: 'Fuck you MrBeast. The solution was stopping the video and just giving him the money.' Another added that filming someone's grief in real time felt... wrong: 'I don't think recording somebody in their most vulnerable moments like that is healthy to show.' Many said it felt more like trauma than a tribute. But Not Everyone's Mad To be fair, not all fans are dragging MrBeast through the mud. Some are defending the video, urging others to watch it in full before jumping to conclusions. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now One viewer noted the video came with a viewer discretion warning, was dedicated to Coach Wall, and even claimed the family gave their blessing to share the footage: 'The family wanted MrBeast to post the footage… People are overreacting to farm clout.' In the description, the team wrote a heartfelt note calling Tyler 'a kind and genuine spirit' and said his family wanted his legacy to be one of hope and positivity . So… Was It Too Much? MrBeast has always blurred the line between inspiration and entertainment . But when real-life grief is involved, it gets complicated. Whether it was honoring a legacy or exploiting a tragedy... well, the internet's still arguing. One thing's for sure: in an age where everything is content, the line between 'sharing a story' and 'oversharing someone else's pain' has never been thinner.
