The 50-second video shows that there were two kids in the car, popping out of the sunroof as their guardian drove. They were then stopped by the traffic official. The officer is seen warning the man, who initially laughs and dismisses the concern. The official then says: 'I will explain to you." He then firmly explains that children leaning out of the sunroof up to their waist are fully exposed from the waist up. In case of sudden braking or an accident, the children could be violently thrown from the vehicle, leading to a potential disaster. The remark referred to the recent release of Final Destination Bloodlines, a film franchise that revolves around unexpected freak accidents. 'Initially, the driver had a casual, dismissive attitude, but as the officer patiently explained the potential dangers to his children, the smile faded from his face, replaced by visible concern. Sometimes, unless fear strikes, people don't truly grasp the risks," another user said. While many praised the officer's calm approach, some users pointed out that not everyone encounters such patient officials. The original video was likely shared by Jitendra Verma on X. "In the last eight years that the BJP has been in the government in UP, they have not done any development work. Despite being in government for so many years, BJP people from the Centre and in the state are cutting ribbons (inaugurating) of development projects of the Samajwadi Party government," Akhilesh said in a statement issued on Friday. "Today the projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister in Kanpur were initiated during the SP government," Akhilesh said. Akhilesh said every development project that was launched during the SP government was dedicated to the people of the state. "Extension of Panki thermal power plant, Neyveli Lignite Power Plant and Kanpur Metro were projects that were launched during the SP regime. Today BJP people are all praises for these projects," he said. The SP national president said the BJP should face the people and appraise them if the government has any scheme for the Lal Imli in Kanpur. Set up in Kanpur in 1876, Lal Imli was known the world over for its high-quality woollen products, so much so that the trademark was regarded as a guarantee of pure wool. In May, another overhead water tank collapsed in Sitapur because of the same reason," Akhilesh said.

PM gives big push to UP with launch of thermal projects
1 2 Times News Network Kanpur: PM Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 15 mega development projects, including those of thermal power, worth over Rs 47,000 crore in Kanpur. He inaugurated a 660-MW Panki thermal power extension project in Kanpur worth over Rs 8,300 crore and three 660-MW units of Ghatampur thermal power project worth over Rs 9,330 crore. The PM also inaugurated rail over bridges over Panki Power House Railway Crossing and over Panki Dham Crossing on Panki Road at Kalyanpur Panki Mandir in Kanpur. It will support the Panki Thermal Power Extension Project's logistics by facilitating coal and oil transport while also alleviating traffic congestion for the local population. These projects mark a historic milestone in the state's energy sector, setting the foundation for unprecedented growth in electricity production and distribution. They are expected to add 3,081 megawatts of additional electricity generation capacity, representing a 24.89% boost in the state's total power output. This expansion will strengthen UP's ability to meet its rising energy demands, particularly in the industrial, agricultural, and domestic sectors. UP is set to gain many benefits. The most important is the move towards becoming self-reliant in electricity production. The state's total power generation capacity has risen from 15,916MW in 2017 to 24,868MW, and by the end of this year, it is expected to reach 27,184MW. All new projects use supercritical technology, which generates more electricity using less coal. This significantly reduced carbon emissions and supported environmental protection. Of the electricity produced by the new projects, 75.11% will be used in UP and 24.89% will be supplied to Assam. This will not only earn the state income but also help balance energy distribution. Stronger power supply will directly help farmers, households, and industries. Modi inaugurated the new underground section of the Kanpur metro rail project worth over Rs 2,120 crore from Chunniganj to Kanpur Central. This section includes five new underground stations — Chunniganj, Bada Chauraha, Naveen Market, Nayaganj and Kanpur Central. It will include 14 planned stations with five new underground stations integrating key city landmarks and commercial hubs into the metro network. Additionally, he also inaugurated road widening and strengthening work of GT Road. With this extension, important city landmarks such as Lal Imli, Z Square Mall, Green Park Stadium, Parade Ground, Book Market and Somdutt Plaza will be directly connected via metro. Modi laid the foundation stone of a 220 kV substation in Sector 28 at Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Gautam Budh Nagar to meet the growing energy demands of the region. He also inaugurated 132 kV substations worth over Rs 320 crore at Ecotech-8 and Ecotech-10 in Greater Noida. PM inaugurated a 40 MLD (million litres per day) tertiary treatment plant at Bingawan in Kanpur worth over Rs 290 crore. It will enable the reuse of treated sewage water, promoting water conservation and sustainable resource management in the region. In a major boost to road infrastructure in the region,Modi laid the foundation stone for widening and strengthening of Gauria Pali Marg for industrial development, and widening and strengthening of the road to connect Narwal Mode (AH-1) on Prayagraj Highway to Kanpur Defence Node (4 lane) under Defence Corridor, both in Kanpur Nagar district, which will significantly improve connectivity for the Defence Corridor, enhancing logistics and accessibility. He also distributed certificates and cheques to the beneficiaries of PM Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojna, National Livelihood Mission and PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Take action against deteriorating medical facilities in state: HC to UP govt
1 2 Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court on Friday directed Uttar Pradesh govt to take immediate action against deteriorating medical facilities in the state before things go out of hand. Hearing a PIL relating to medical facilities in the state, Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal said while the Uttar Pradesh govt has developed medical infrastructure in the state capital people living in other cities are being denied medical help. "It seems that entire focus of the govt is in developing medical infrastructure in the state capital. People living in other cities are being denied medical help. They have to run either to Lucknow or Delhi for treatment. It is the taxpayers' money which should be evenly spent across the state of Uttar Pradesh and not a particular city should be developed as a medical hub neglecting others," the court noted. It also directed Prayagraj's district magistrate, police commissioner, as well as municipal commissioner, Nagar Nigam, Prayagraj, superintendent in charge and deputy SIC, Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, Prayagraj and chief medical officer, Prayagraj to remain present before the court on the next date. In addition, it also directed the principal secretary to file an affidavit disclosing the entire budgetary allocation to all medical colleges of the state including that of SGPGIMS, KGMU and RMLIMS. The court also directed the official to place before the state govt for consideration of upgrading of medical facility at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital (SRN), which is associated hospital of Moti Lal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj from existing 1250-bed to at least 3000-bed keeping in view the next Kumbh to be held in 2031. "The official concerned must apprise the govt about the poor medical facilities available in Prayagraj compared to Lucknow and Gorakhpur. Prayagraj, an important religious place where tourists are coming from all over the world and is also having a large local population, is being neglected for last several years with little or no medical facility," the court added. It also directed the principal secretary to inform the court about the strengthening of the primary health centres across UP, as they are practically in a non-working condition which is putting great pressure upon the hospitals attached to medical colleges. The court also directed the official to place the matter before the state govt for consideration of setting up, if necessary, an institute like SGPGIMS in the Prayagraj region to cater to the needs of neighbouring districts, as patients from the medical colleges are being referred to SGPGIMS, Lucknow or to Delhi, as there is shortage of facilities and medicines. It has been apprised that though the doctors are present but due to lack of infrastructure and non-availability of medicines, patients could not be treated in these medical colleges, which is putting great pressure on the state and national capitals, the court added.
