Sydney Sweeney reportedly backed by Jeff Bezos for racy new career move

Don't miss out on the headlines from Celebrity Life. Followed categories will be added to My News. Jeff Bezos' latest investment is a new lingerie line designed by Sydney Sweeney. The Emmy-nominated actress, known for her roles in the HBO series 'Euphoria' and 'The White Lotus,' has been working on a lingerie line that has received backing from Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sánchez, a source familiar with the matter told US Weekly. Sweeney was invited to the couple's June wedding in Venice, Italy. Sydney Sweeney is reportedly primed to launch a lingerie line, which has been backed by billionaire Jeff Bezos. Sweeney recently shared cryptic photos of herself in lingerie. 'This has been a huge project for her and something she's been working on for the last year,' the source said. Her brand, which will reportedly debut 'soon,' was backed by Ben Schwerin, a partner at private equity firm Coatue. The private equity firm recently launched a fund focused on investing in high-growth public and private tech companies. The family offices of Bezos and PC company founder Michael Dell have committed to provide $US1 billion of the initial capital for the fund, according to The Wall Street Journal. Sweeney is one of the most talked about Hollywood stars right now. A pitch deck seen by the Journal indicated the fund aims to invest between 20 to 50 per cent of its assets in private investments with the rest earmarked for public stocks. Bezos has already invested capital in several companies in the tech, healthcare, aerospace, finance and media industries. Sweeney attended the lavish Venice nuptials of Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos. Picture: AP Photo/Luca Bruno Most of those investments are made through his venture capital firm, Bezos Expeditions, and through Nash Holdings, which owns The Washington Post. Now, some of his funds will back the actress's first brand. During her rapid rise to fame, Sweeney has formed partnerships and become the brand ambassador for several major companies, including HeyDude footwear, Bai beverages, Laneige skincare and Kérastase haircare. Recently, she made headlines with a campaign for men's natural body wash brand Dr. Squatch, selling a limited-edition soap reportedly made with her own bathwater. Ellen DeGeneres Sends Rosie O'Donnell Unexpected 4-Word Message After Trump's Citizenship Threat

Ellen DeGeneres didn't let her history with fellow comedian Rosie O'Donnell affect her response after President Donald Trump 's shocking threat to take away O'Donnell's citizenship. The president reignited his long-running feud with O'Donnell over the weekend, calling her a 'threat to humanity' in a post on Truth Social. 'Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,' Trump wrote. 'She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!' O'Donnell responded to Trump in two separate Instagram posts, calling him a ' criminal con man ' who 'lacks empathy compassion and basic humanity.' 'You call me a threat to humanity – but I'm everything you fear,' O'Donnell wrote in a different post. 'A loud woman a queer woman a mother who tells the truth an american who got out of the country b4 u set it ablaze you build walls – I build a life for my autistic kid in a country where decency still exists.' While O'Donnell's fellow comedians and fans showed their support in the comments, DeGeneres' post, in particular, stood out. The comedian screenshotted Trump's post and O'Donnell's response, captioning her Instagram post, 'Good for you @rosie.' O'Donnell and DeGeneres have reportedly had a frosty relationship over the years, as DeGeneres once told Larry King back in 2004 that ' we're not really friends.' O'Donnell previously shared that the two had a good relationship prior to becoming famous, but later developed a bit of 'weirdness.' 'It became a strange, 'There can't be two lesbians in this town' kind of a thing,' O'Donnell told The Hollywood Reporter in 2023. 'Then we each had success and went separate ways.' In an interesting twist, both O'Donnell and DeGeneres moved abroad shortly after Trump was sworn in for his second term. O'Donnell lives in Dublin, Ireland, while DeGeneres settled in the Cotswolds in England. O'Donnell reacted to DeGeneres' move in an interview with US Weekly and said she was 'surprised to read that she left because of President Trump.' 'We're not really in each other's worlds, and it's been kind of awkward but you know what? I wish her the best,' O'Donnell said in the interview, published in April. 'I wish that she has peace and love in her life and that she is OK.'

Gene Hackman died with a five-figure credit card bill, now $80M estate faces lawsuits and family dispute

Gene Hackman's death earlier this year under strange and still-unexplained circumstances is still being looked into, with no clear update on how exactly he was found. Now, months later, his $80 million estate, which has already stirred tension in the family after the kids were left out of the will, is facing trouble. According to court records, the Hollywood legend died with close to $100,000 in unpaid credit card debt. The two-time Academy Award winner had left everything to his wife, Betsy Arakawa, who was also found dead inside the same house, next to Hackman. Also read: Gene Hackman reportedly leaves kids out of his will: What happens to his $80 million estate? According to the court documents obtained by US Weekly, the Hollywood legend owed Citibank $98,345.29. Meanwhile, his wife, Betsy Arakawa, who also died around the same time, had a separate credit card debt of $4,329.75 with Bank of America. Since both of them passed away suddenly and were reportedly battling multiple medical conditions, neither of them had the chance to clear these dues, which is likely why the banks have now filed claims against their estate to recover the money. Also read: 'Desperate' Brad Pitt sees glimmer of hope as one kid keeps his last name; begs for 'one final shot' amid Angelina Jolie feud Hackman, who was 95 when he died, had been dealing with Alzheimer's and heart problems. His wife, Betsy, believed to have passed days earlier, is thought to have died from hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, a rare disease spread by rodents. The couple, along with one of their dogs, were found dead inside their New Mexico home in early January after neighbours noticed their sudden disappearance and called 911. By the time authorities arrived, Betsy's body had already started decomposing. As for the will, Hackman had named Arakawa the successor trustee back in 2005, and that document hasn't been touched since. But now that she's gone too, the question is: who inherits the estate? The actor had three adult kids, Christopher Allen Hackman, Elizabeth Jean Hackman, and Leslie Anne Hackman, but none of them were mentioned in the will. After the news broke, they released a statement saying they were devastated, though it's been widely known that they were estranged from their father for years. Despite the debt, the amount is minor compared to Hackman's $80 million estate, and it's likely the claims will be settled soon.
