Congress to sponsor education of 30 children affected by Pak shelling in Poonch
The Indian Youth Congress (IYC), under the direction of Rahul Gandhi, senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, will fund the school education of 30 children from Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district who were affected by recent Pakistani shelling. The Poonch sector witnessed heightened artillery and mortar shelling after India carried out precise strikes under Operation Sindoor on nine terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 6-7 in response to the Pahalgam massacre. (File) Indian Youth Congress president Uday Bhanu Chib said, 'Rahul Gandhi has decided that these children, all from Poonch district, who have lost their parents in the recent Pak shelling will be provided financial help to complete their school education. We will sponsor their education in Poonch itself.' The decision follows Rahul Gandhi's visit to Poonch on May 24, where he met students of Christ School. During his interaction, he encouraged them to stay strong and continue their education despite the traumatic events. 'Now you have seen a little bit of danger and a little bit of a frightening situation, but don't worry—everything will come back to normal. Your way of responding to this problem should be that you study really hard, play and make a lot of friends in school. Will you do that?' Gandhi told the students. The Poonch sector witnessed heightened artillery and mortar shelling after India carried out precise strikes under Operation Sindoor on nine terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 6-7 in response to the Pahalgam massacre. A wave of artillery shelling, missiles and drone strikes by Pakistan killed 28 people, 16 in Poonch district alone, and injured more than 70 between May 7 and 10 across Jammu and Kashmir. Among the casualties were 13-year-old twins, Ayan and Aruba, children of Rameez Khan, who studied at Christ School. They were killed outside their rented home during a Pakistani shelling attack on the morning of May 7.

Indian Youth Congress file complaints in multiple states for targeting Rahul Gandhi in sanitary pad case
New Delhi [India], July 8 (ANI): Under the supervision, leadership and instructions of Indian Youth Congress National In-Charge Shri Krishna Allavaru, National President Uday Bhanu Chib, and National Legal Cell Chairman Roopesh Singh Bhadauria, the IYC Legal Cell has launched an all-fronts legal counteroffensive against the coordinated and malicious digital campaign aimed at defaming Rahul Gandhi and mocking women's dignity, a press release from the Indian Youth Congress said. On July 5, 2025, a doctored image and vulgar video targeting Rahul Gandhi Ji connected to a social welfare campaign to distribute sanitary pads in Bihar was circulated by Ratan Ranjan and further amplified by @MrSinha_, Arun Kosli, Sanjay Nirupam, Adv Sunil Sharma, and Rishi Bagree and multiple other habitual Offenders. The content, deeply offensive, exploited a women-centric issue to spread political misogyny and orchestrated defamation. This is not political expression. This is criminal intent--cloaked in digital propaganda. Legal Action Across Multiple States: In Karnataka, an FIR was registered at High Grounds Police Station, Bengaluru, under Sections 192, 336(4), 354, 294, 196, and 197 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Section 67 of the IT Act, 2000. In Delhi, a complaint has been filed at Mandir Marg Police Station, and a parallel complaint has been submitted via the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal by Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress Legal Cell Chairman Shri Vivek Punia. In Telangana, under the leadership of State Legal Cell President Adv. Jakkidi Shiva Charan Reddy and Coordinator Adv. Gudur Nikhil Reddy, an FIR has also been registered against the culprits. 'BJP has crossed all limits of decency. They're trying to divert attention from their impending defeat in Bihar by morphing images and insulting women. It's not just about our leader -- it's about the dignity of every Indian woman. This is unacceptable and legally punishable. This is beyond defamation. This is an outright insult to the dignity of Indian women. The BJP IT cell is spreading filth to mock a welfare initiative. We've taken legal action. Let there be no doubt -- we will pursue this to its logical end', IYC Legal Cell Incharge Krishna Allavaru said in his statement. 'BJP is a master in manufacturing fake narratives, but this is a new low. Twisting a noble act of public service into obscene propaganda is reprehensible, both politically and morally. The Indian Youth Congress stands firm. We will not allow such degradation to go unpunished'. He even said that Weaponising menstruation to score political points is a misogynistic disgrace. Disinformation against public leaders is not free speech -- it's criminal speech', IYC National President Shri Uday Bhanu Chib's statement said. The Indian Youth Congress will pursue every legal remedy under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Information Technology laws to hold these offenders accountable. There will be consequences -- swift, severe, and permanent. And this time, there will be no mercy. 'This orchestrated smear campaign is not just about digital hate -- it is a criminal conspiracy to degrade women, dehumanise public discourse, and politically vilify a Leader of Opposition. We are responding firmly and lawfully. This is only the beginning. There will be no leniency. Disgusting that The IT cell's propaganda mocks menstruation and uses it to insult Rahul Gandhi Ji. This isn't just defamation -- this is a crime against every woman. FIRs are being registered. Let the guilty face consequences -- legal, harsh, and irreversible', National Chairman Legal Cell Shri Roopesh Singh Bhadauria said in his statement. (ANI)

J-K: Indian Youth Congress sets up relief camps in Poonch
New Delhi [India] May 11 (ANI): The Indian Youth Congress established relief camps in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday, to provide essential assistance to displaced individuals amid the rising India-Pakistan tension. According to the party's official statement, National President of Indian Youth Congress Uday Bhanu Chib started relief camps on the instructions of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi so that the Youth Congress could provide quick assistance to the affected areas. Chib said, 'We salute the bravery of the Indian Army, which has given a befitting reply to the enemies through precise and effective air strikes. Every single worker of the Indian Youth Congress is dedicated to serving the nation.', according to the release. Chib said, 'In this hour of crisis, the workers of the Indian Youth Congress are standing firmly with their people, with compassion, dedication, and courage.' 'In the past few days, whenever darkness fell on the battlefield of Poonch, the workers of the Indian Youth Congress remained on the ground and provided safe shelter, hot food and necessary medical aid to the displaced families through the IYC Relief Camp. This service will continue in this manner until the situation becomes completely normal,' the release added. India has delivered a strong strategic message by targeting terror camps in Muridke and Bahawalpur -- locations known to house the leadership of major terrorist organisations with links to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), according to high-level sources. Sources also said that Pakistan Air Force Base Nur Khan in Chaklala suffered significant damage, while Rahim Yar Khan airbase's runway was completely flattened in India's precision strikes under Operation Sindoor. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in reply to the ghastly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that claimed the lives of 26 people. India had struck nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan sought to up the ante with a series of unprovoked escalations using artillery guns and drones. Following India's operation, the conflict between India and Pakistan deepened, which resulted in increased cross-border shelling from Pakistan and retaliatory action from the Indian Armed Forces.
