Former Watford striker Vakoun Bayo unveiled at Udinese
Former Watford striker Vakoun Bayo has been unveiled at Udinese ahead of the 2025/26 season. The forward spent two years as a permanent Watford player before signing for the Serie A club last summer - only to return to Vicarage Road on a temporary deal for the 2024/25 campaign. More: Wage demands rule out Ashley Young returning to Watford this summer It was announced that Bayo wanted to play top-tier football at the time and he now looks set to achieve that with Gino Pozzo's Italian club, with a contract running until 2028. The Ivory Coast international scored 21 goals in 109 appearances for Watford and was the Hornets' top scorer last season with 10 strikes, four of which came in the 6-2 away win at Sheffield Wednesday in November. Bayo joins several former Hornets at Udinese, with Christian Kabasele, Hassane Kamara and Keinan Davis also there permanently. More: Transfer tracker: All of Watford's summer 2025 ins and outs The Hornets have revamped their attacking options this summer, bringing Vivaldo Semedo the other way on a five-year deal as well as signing Luca Kjerrumgaard from OB (via a loan from Udinese for work permit reasons).

Major development in Hamza Igamane's Rangers transfer as ‘THREE clubs bid to hijack Lille's pursuit for striker'
HAMZA IGAMANE could still fire Rangers into the Champions League this season despite the Ibrox club being locked in transfer discussions with Lille. The French side have been leading the race for the Moroccan striker's signature this summer, but talks over a potential move to Ligue 1 have stalled in recent weeks. 2 Hamza Igamane scored 16 goals for Gers last season Credit: Willie Vass 2 Igamane celebrating winner against Celtic Credit: Willie Vass He still remains very much a Rangers player for the moment ahead of the club's crucial Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos on Tuesday. But it's still looking unlikely that Russell Martin will still be able to hold onto the forward in the latter stages of the window. According to reports, Igamane now has THREE other clubs on his trail amid the ongoing uncertainty around his proposed move to Lille. Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri claims both Rangers and Lille are still in talks, but the Ligue 1 side are "struggling" to meet the Light Blues' demands. That has reportedly allowed the likes of Everton, Udinese and Feyenoord to join the race. Everton have been credited with interest in the 22-year-old for months, but the news of Udinese and Feyenoord's interest is a fresh development. It's claimed that although the Dutch giants have expressed interest, it is fact Everton and Udinese that have both made an initial approach to Rangers. The report suggests that both the English club and Italian outfit have made an enquiry to the Govan club. Udinese have clearly been keeping close eyes on Scottish football in recent years as the club have also been looking at Reo Hatate from Celtic and Motherwell's Lennon Miller too. It's understood that Rangers are holding out for a fee of around £15million for Igamane. 'Absolutely brilliant or RUBBISH' - Gassama Rangers transfer verdict and Souttar to leave That would see Gers make a mega profit after they only bought him for £1.7m last summer. He was a standout in Glasgow last season as he netted 16 goals throughout the campaign - including a famous winner against Celtic at Parkhead. Have YOU got a point for Kris Boyd? Official: Lucca joins Napoli from Udinese
Napoli have confirmed the signing of Lorenzo Lucca on loan with an option to buy. Napoli confirmed the purchase of Italy striker Lucca on loan with an option to buy from Udinese. Napoli sign Lucca: the official statement 'SSC Napoli have announced that the club have signed Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese Calcio on loan with an option to buy,' the defending Serie A champions said in a statement on Friday. Lucca is Napoli's fourth summer signing after Kevin De Bruyne, Luca Marianucci and Noa Lang. The fifth new purchase is incoming as Bologna centre-back Sam Beukema is currently undergoing medical tests at Villa Stuart in Rome before completing a permanent move to the Stadio Maradona. Napoli secured a deal to sign Lucca after dropping Liverpool's Darwin Nunez as the Reds refused to lower their €50m asking price. Lucca's career so far Football Italia reported on Thursday that the transfer package for Lucca's move to Napoli is in the region of €35m, including add-ons. The Italian striker has netted 20 goals in 70 Serie A appearances with Udinese. The 24-year-old has also played for Pisa, Palermo, Ajax and Vicenza. Lucca made his senior Italy debut in October 2024 and has five international appearances. Lucca Stats & Facts Since moving to Serie A, Lorenzo Lucca (born in September 2000) is the youngest player to have scored at least 20 goals in the competition, 20 since 2023/24. Since Lucca moved to the Italian top flight, only Duvan Zapata (10) has scored more headed goals than him (eight, tied with Milan Djuric) in the competition. Lorenzo Lucca is one of four Italians to have scored at least 20 goals in Serie A from 2023/24 onwards, along with Mateo Retegui, Riccardo Orsolini and Andrea Pinamonti. Last season, no player scored more headed goals than Lorenzo Lucca, five, level with Roberto Piccoli and Mateo Retegui.
