House Arrest Row: Cops Record Ullu App Manager's Statement, Ajaz Khan to Face Summons
Last Updated: Ullu app is in trouble for obscene content in House Arrest. Bajrang Dal's complaint led to police action against actor Ajaz Khan and producer Rajkumar Pandey. Trouble is mounting for Ullu app after it was accused of showing obscene content on its platform. The issue is related to its show House Arrest, which has been called out for showing vulgar scenes. On Friday, Bajrang Dal had filed a complaint about the show. Following this, Mumbai's Amboli police recorded the statement of the Ullu app's manager. Now, the police are likely to issue summons to the host of the show, actor Ajaz Khan. The police are still looking into the matter. Meanwhile, the Ullu app is under serious watch, and more actions may follow soon. Mumbai Police had earlier registered an FIR against Ajaz Khan, producer Rajkumar Pandey, and others over alleged obscene content in the reality show House Arrest, which was streamed on the Ullu App. The complaint was filed by Bajrang Dal activist Gautam Ravriya. House Arrest sparked controversy after a scene showed Ajaz Khan asking contestants to simulate sex positions on camera. In one of the recent episodes that aired this week, controversy deepened when host Ajaz Khan quizzed a female contestant on sexual experiments. When she hesitated and admitted she wasn't familiar with sex positions, Ajaz called upon two other contestants to demonstrate a few on camera to help her 'understand." The entire segment was laced with suggestive dialogue and innuendos. In another clip from the same episode that has since gone viral on Twitter (now X), a group of female contestants were seen participating in a challenge where they were asked to remove their undergarments from beneath their clothes while the cameras were rolling. Both sequences drew widespread backlash online, with Twitter (now X) flooded with calls to ban the show. Several political leaders also accused House Arrest and its creators of 'promoting obscenity and vulgarity." 'Based on a complaint lodged by Gautam Ravriya, an activist of Bajrang Dal, the police registered a case against actor Ajaz Khan, producer Rajkumar Pandey of the 'House Arrest' web show and other persons from Ullu app," said an official of Amboli police station. Following the backlash over two objectionable sequences from the series, Ullu App has now taken down Ajaz Khan's controversial reality show from its platform. As of now, House Arrest is no longer available for streaming on the app. However, the platform has not issued any official statement regarding its removal. Ullu also officially apologised to Bajrang Dal in a formal letter saying, 'We would like to inform you that all episodes of the mentioned show were removed 3–4 days ago. This release was the result of an oversight and negligence by our internal team, which we acknowledge. As a law-abiding organisation, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by the release of the show. We appreciate your vigilance and proactive approach in bringing this matter to our attention. Once again, we express our regret for any trouble or disruption caused due to this." First Published:

Actor Ajaz Khan booked for rape, days after being named in obscenity case
MUMBAI: Actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan, 43, has been booked by the Charkop police for allegedly raping a 30-year-old woman under the pretext of offering her work in the film industry. The development comes just a day after Khan was named in a separate case involving alleged obscene content on the Ullu app's reality show House Arrest. According to the FIR, the complainant — a struggling actress residing in Kandivali West — had been selected to appear on House Arrest, hosted by Khan. She joined the shoot at Madh Malvani in Malad West on March 17, 2025, but left the show five days later, dissatisfied with the production. The woman stated that she met Khan again at the wrap party for the show, where he asked for her phone number. The next day, he allegedly called her, professed his love, and expressed a desire to marry her. She suggested they speak in person. Later that day, he visited her home, repeated his marriage proposal, and promised to get her work in multiple shows, assuring her that she could continue her career post-marriage. When she mentioned needing funds for her sister's wedding, Khan allegedly offered financial assistance. It was during this visit that he allegedly raped her. The woman further claimed that Khan sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions, each time promising film roles that never materialised. After he failed to fulfil his promises, she approached the Charkop police and lodged a complaint. Khan has been booked under sections 64 (punishment for rape), 54(2)(m) (rape in certain circumstances), 69 (sexual intercourse by deceit), and 74 (assault with intent to outrage modesty) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita. This incident follows an FIR registered on May 2 by the Amboli police against Khan, other individuals involved in House Arrest, and the Ullu app itself, for allegedly streaming obscene content. Khan was summoned on Monday to record his statement in that case. Khan and his representatives were unavailable for comment till the time of going to press.
