Rs 10 lakh robbed at gunpoint from Bihar Gramin Bank

atna: Armed criminals robbed Rs 10 lakh from a Bihar Gramin Bank branch at Berua under Gaighat police station in Muzaffarpur district by holding its employees hostage on Monday.
Soon after getting the news, Gaighat station house officer (SHO) Umakant Singh, along with his team, arrived at the scene.
He said the CCTV camera footage from the scene and surrounding areas is being reviewed.
"The footage show that soon after entering the bank, three criminals took the bank employees hostage, and assaulted some. The criminals collected their mobile phones at one place, and asked them about the cash.
When the staff did not provide information, the criminals slapped them and threatened to shoot if they didn't reveal where the cash was. Subsequently, the employees informed the criminals about the cash. They then escaped with Rs 10 lakh from the locker," said the Gaighat SHO.
Technical experts are also lending a hand in the probe of the robbery.
"Raids are being conducted in the direction the criminals fled. Local residents and bank employees have been questioned. We are also investigating any possible involvement of the bank employees," the SHO added.
