Report: West Ham target double deal with Liverpool in £90m swoop
West Ham Make Move for Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton in Liverpool Double Swoop West Ham United have stepped up their summer transfer plans with a firm interest in Liverpool duo Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton, according to a report by The Mail. New Hammers boss Graham Potter is seeking to reshape his side ahead of the 2025/26 campaign and has set his sights on two of England's most promising young talents. These terms reflect how highly the Reds rate the 22-year-old and their desire to maintain a degree of control over his long-term future. 'Harvey Elliott is valued at £40million with a buy-back clause, or £50m without one, as the Reds look to ensure that their academy star is only prised away from the club for a hefty fee.' Despite his clear ability and contribution to England's Under-21 European Championship win this summer, Elliott has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at Anfield. Last season he made 18 Premier League appearances, but only two of those were starts. It is understood he is open to reflecting on his next steps. Advertisement England U21 hero attracting growing interest Elliott's stock has risen sharply after his dazzling performances during the Under-21 Euros, where he netted five goals in six games to help England lift the trophy. His versatility, being able to operate both out wide and centrally, is another reason he is admired by clubs across Europe. 'Elliott, 22, played a starring role for England's young Lions last month, netting five goals in six games during their run to the Under-21s European Championships' crown.' Despite his standout summer, Elliott faces stiff competition at Liverpool. The likes of Mohamed Salah, Luis Díaz and Dominik Szoboszlai have made it difficult for him to command consistent game time. West Ham, aware of that situation, sense an opportunity. Photo IMAGO Advertisement Morton monitored as West Ham seek midfield additions While Elliott takes the spotlight, West Ham are also keeping tabs on midfielder Tyler Morton, another product of the Liverpool academy. The 22-year-old has gained valuable experience with loan spells at Blackburn Rovers and Hull City and is viewed as a technically sound and mature midfielder. 'They are also keeping tabs on Morton, the young midfielder who is also an England U-21 international.' West Ham's interest in Morton coincides with their recent £54.5million sale of Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham Hotspur. That departure leaves a significant creative gap in the midfield and Potter is believed to be keen on young, tactically adaptable players to fill it. Advertisement Morton has also drawn attention from Ajax, further underlining the level of interest surrounding him this summer. Photo: IMAGO Potter's plans accelerating in key summer window This is Graham Potter's first full transfer window in charge of West Ham and he is keen to make an immediate impact. He is reshaping a squad that finished mid-table last season, aiming to introduce a more progressive style of play and improve the club's long-term prospects. 'Graham Potter, who was hired as West Ham manager last January, is in the middle of his first summer window in charge as he looks to freshen up his squad.' Advertisement With funds now available following the Kudus sale, West Ham are expected to act decisively. While no formal bids have yet been submitted for either Elliott or Morton, the groundwork is clearly being laid. 'The Hammers are yet to submit a bid for Elliott but appear optimistic that a deal can get over the line.' Should Liverpool agree to part ways with either or both players, West Ham could secure two high-upside additions who have already proven themselves at youth international level. For Liverpool, the valuation and inclusion of clauses suggest they are open to deals, but only on terms that protect their long-term interests. Our View – EPL Index Analysis From a West Ham fan's perspective, the idea of landing both Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton in one window is exciting and represents a significant shift in recruitment philosophy. These are not older stop-gaps or relegation battlers, but proven young English talents with high ceilings. Advertisement Elliott in particular would bring flair and dynamism to a squad that has sometimes lacked creativity in central areas and wide positions. His ability to link midfield and attack while also contributing goals is exactly what fans have been crying out for since the likes of Jesse Lingard's brief loan spell. Morton might not be as headline-grabbing, but he looks like the kind of composed and press-resistant midfielder Potter could develop. He has Championship experience and youth international pedigree, which shows he is ready for the next step. There is some scepticism about whether West Ham would pay £50million for Elliott without a buy-back clause, especially given the club's history of being cautious with big investments on young players. But if Potter truly wants to build something sustainable, signing hungry and proven young English players could be a masterstroke. The Kudus sale stung, but if it funds smart moves like these, fans might quickly come around. Now it's up to the board to turn interest into action.

Man Utd take huge risk with Bryan Mbeumo transfer after 'very frustrated' admission
Manchester United remain locked in talks with Brentford over the signing of Bryan Mbeumo, who is said to be frustrated with the deal's lack of progress in recent weeks Manchester United are reportedly several million pounds apart from Brentford as negotiations continue over a deal for Bryan Mbeumo. United have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are keen to add more firepower in the form of Mbeumo. The Cameroon international enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, netting 20 Premier League goals in 38 games. In fact, Mbeumo was only outscored by Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak and Erling Haaland. United have already had two bids rejected by Brentford and the Athletic are reporting that the gap between both clubs is 'considerable'. The report states that talks are ongoing, but there have been 'no significant developments' and a deal is 'not imminent'. It's understood that United's offer of a £55million fixed fee plus £7.5m in add-ons falls short of the £65m Brentford want. It's also been claimed that the Bees want all, if not most, of the money paid up front. The latest development comes after Cameroon's assistant coach, Ashu Cyprian Besong, revealed that Mbeumo has been left "very frustrated" by the situation. "Yes, obviously he's very frustrated with how long it's taken," Besong told Telecom Asia. "But he's a professional and anticipates these things. I spoke to him about a week ago and he is very calm with everything that is going on. But of course, he's already told them he wants to go to United. "He just wanted the two clubs to find an agreement, as he's very grateful for the opportunity that he's been given by Brentford in his career." It is also claimed that Brentford have made an approach for Omari Hutchinson as a potential replacement for Mbeumo. Hutchinson impressed for Ipswich in the Premier League last season and won the Under-21 Euros with England last month. The report states that the 21-year-old is one of a number of options Brentford are considering and a deal is 'felt to be unlikely at present'. Brentford have already made five major signings this summer, with Michael Kayode's loan move from Fiorentina becoming permanent. The Bees have also signed goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool to replace Mark Flekken after his move to Bayer Leverkusen, while Romelle Donovan has signed from Birmingham, Antoni Milambo has made the move from Feyenoord and Jordan Henderson has joined on a free transfer. Along with Flekken's departure, captain Christian Norgaard has been sold to Arsenal in a deal worth around £15m and veteran defender Ben Mee has left on a free transfer after his contract expired.
