Start Eating These Foods, and Feel Your Pain Go Away Undo While candidate identification and centre allocation have been fully digitised to ensure transparency and eliminate potential bias, each district magistrate will serve as the nodal officer, empowered to oversee the entire examination process and take immediate action when necessary. A total of 2,382 exam centres have been established to accommodate over 10.76 lakh candidates. Live Events The exam centres have been assigned through a computer-generated randomisation process, and e-admit cards are linked to an eight-step verification system under the One Time Registration (OTR) process. To maintain strict confidentiality, question papers have been prepared in two separate sets by different printers. Just 45 minutes before the exam, a computer-based randomisation process will determine which set is used. Each question paper will be available in eight jumbled series, each marked with a unique and variable barcode. These papers will be securely stored in confidential trunk boxes with triple-locking mechanisms and five-layer tamper-proof packaging. This entire process will be monitored through live CCTV streaming at the centre, district, and commission levels, the statement said. Entry into exam centres will require biometric authentication and facial recognition. Dual-layer frisking will be conducted jointly by the police and the implementing agency. To ensure rigorous supervision at each exam centre, a team consisting of a sector magistrate, a static magistrate, a centre administrator, two deputy centre administrators, and trained invigilators will be deployed. The centre administrator will appoint half of the invigilators, while the district magistrate or district school inspector will assign the other half. Invigilator duties will also be determined through computer randomisation to ensure impartiality. A dedicated social media monitoring cell has been established to track and respond swiftly to any rumours, leaks, or suspicious online activity.

Helicopter crash in Uttarkashi caused by rotor striking overhead cable, says AAIB in preliminary report
A helicopter crash that claimed six lives near Gangnani in Uttarkashi district on May 8 was caused by a collision with an overhead fiber cable during an attempted emergency landing, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) said in its preliminary report released this week. The BELL 407 helicopter , operated by Aerotrans Services Pvt Ltd ., was flying on a Char Dham Yatra charter route when it descended from its assigned altitude and attempted an emergency landing on National Highway 34. According to the AAIB, the aircraft's main rotor blade struck a fiber cable running parallel to the road, causing the helicopter to veer off course, hit roadside barricades, and tumble roughly 250 feet down a hillside before coming to rest against a tree. One passenger sustained serious injuries. Notably, there was no post-impact fire, although the aircraft was destroyed, AAIB said in its prelim report. The helicopter had departed Sahastradhara helipad at 7:45 a.m. and made a scheduled stop at Kharsali, where a new group of six pilgrims boarded for the next leg to Jhala. It took off again at 8:11 a.m. The crash occurred approximately 20 minutes later, as the aircraft approached the Uttarkashi-Gangotri stretch near Gangnani. The 59-year-old pilot, with over 6,160 hours of flying time, was operating the flight alone. Records show he held a valid Airline Transport Pilot License and medical certification. Pre-flight inspections were conducted earlier that day by a certified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, who reported no discrepancies. Live Events The AAIB noted that the helicopter's last recorded defect—'surface skin peeled at the tail rotor tip'—had been addressed just two days before the crash, with the damaged part replaced and the aircraft cleared for service. The investigation team has since visited the crash site, collected perishable evidence, interviewed eyewitnesses and responders, and recovered key components of the wreckage for detailed analysis, the AAIB report said.

As regards to UN Security Council reforms, the "majority agree that the body should be reflective of the current geopolitical realities " and enhance the "Council's credibility," he said while emphasising the need to "resist efforts by those who seek to maintain the status quo." Live Events India has been at the forefront of the years-long efforts to reform the Security Council, saying it rightly deserves a place as a permanent member of the Council, which in its current form does not represent the geo-political realities of the 21st Century. "India believes the 2028 review should be results-oriented and forward-looking," he said while delivering remarks at the third interactive informal dialogue on the review of the Pact for the Future agreement. Ambassador Harish also presented a copy of the Hindi translation of the Pact for the Future to UN General Assembly President Philemon Yang, Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations posted on social media.
