Naturally, there's an initial payment to sort first – here it's £4,477.46 – and this is a three-year deal, with a 5,000-mile-a-year cap. You'll be getting the smaller battery model, but at 70.3kWh, you should be able to achieve 300 miles on a full charge, according to BMW. Meanwhile, you can enjoy M Sport specification; easily the most desirable trim of the range, this brings a host of appealing extras such as racier styling, anthracite headlining, an M Sport leather steering wheel, 18-inch alloys and sports seats with 'M piping'. The i4 is easily one of the finest electric saloons on the market, thanks to its agile handling and cosseting ride, and its sharp steering makes light work of twisty roads. And while it's often referred to as an electric saloon, it has a practical hatchback – something that the Tesla Model 3 can't boast of. Seal the deal on this Tesla Model 3 rival for just £289 a month
Packed with luxury features 354-mile range Just £289.01 a month Last week we spotted the Tesla Model 3 had slumped in price, offering potential buyers a market-leading electric saloon for less than £300 a month. But, if the Model 3 isn't quite your cup of tea, what are your options? Well, the BYD Seal is one of several alternatives, and just like the Model 3, lease deals are seeming to be seriously tempting right now. Advertisement - Article continues below Through the Auto Express Find a Car service, VIPGateway is offering BYD's electric saloon for just £289.01 a month. This two-year deal requires a £3,648.09 initial payment, and mileage is limited to 5,000 a year. However, a more flexible 8,000-a-year limit can be arranged for an extra £21.33 a month. There are only two versions of the BYD Seal, and this deal is for the entry-level model. In reality, though, unless you desperately want the all-wheel drive that comes with the top-spec car, the base-spec Design is all that you need. Calling it base spec is a little unfair as it's no poverty model. It's packed with luxuries, such as 19-inch alloys wheels, a 360-degree parking camera, an upmarket 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, and, rather impressively, electrically adjustable heated and ventilated front seats. Design gets a rear-mounted electric motor that packs a punchy 312bhp. It's enough to send the Seal to 62mph in under six seconds, while the ride and handling is tuned to be comfortable and cosseting. Under the swoopy body lies an 82.5kWh battery, giving the Seal a claimed driving range of 354 miles. A 10-80-per-cent top-up from a rapid charger will take around 40 minutes thanks to 150kW max charging capacity – that's a bit slower than rivals, but not too unreasonable. Car Deal of the Day: Ford Explorer gives you practicality, style and EV power for £228 a month
Smart interior Fun to drive £228 a month Ford is in the midst of giving some of its iconic nameplates EV power – we've had the Mustang Mach-E, the Capri and now this, the Explorer. Granted, the Explorer SUV was never a household name like the others, but we think the crossover might be the best electric car Ford currently makes – and the great news is you can get one for just £228 a month. This lease deal we found from VIP Gateway via the Auto Express Find A Car service is based over two years with a £228 monthly payment preceded by a £3,003 initial deposit. There's a 5,000-mile annual limit – although if you want to extend this to 10,000 miles, it'll cost an extra £34 a month. Advertisement - Article continues below Despite only having the smaller 52kWh battery, this Explorer is good for a useful 233 miles of range. Compared to the larger and more pricey 77kWh unit also offered with the Explorer, the 52kWh model actually features faster recharging thanks to a 145kW maximum providing a 10 to 80 per cent top-up in 25 minutes. With its 168bhp and 310Nm of torque, the base-level Ford Explorer isn't the quickest EV around, taking 8.7 seconds to get to 62mph. However, it is noticeably rear-driven and surprisingly fun in the bends – much more so than the Volkswagen ID.4 with which the Ford shares the same MEB platform. In the solid-feeling cabin, you'll find Ford has gone to great lengths to make the Explorer feel different to its Volkswagen sibling. This is most obvious with the huge portrait-oriented 14.6-inch central screen that can actually slide to reveal a 'secret' cubby hole. It might be the base Style variant, but there's a perfectly acceptable equipment list here, too, with a rear-view camera, dual-zone air-conditioning, 19-inch wheels and LED lights front and rear among the highlights. This compact SUV trumpets value for money, so it's little wonder that despite it being so new, there are tempting leasing deals aplenty. Regardless of how many seats you want in your C3 Aircross, you'll be getting the entry-level Plus model. Don't fret though, because Citroen throws in plenty of kit with 17-inch diamond-cut alloys, LED headlights, ambient lighting, roof rails, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone connectivity all coming as standard. The Aircross may be based on the C3 supermini, but there's loads of space inside. Unusually for a car of this size, six-footers can easily get comfortable with plenty of room to spare, plus there's a very generous 460-litre boot. Meanwhile, up front, there's plenty of different materials used with quirky design details everywhere to keep things looking interesting. This deal gets you the 1.2-litre petrol engine, and its 99bhp means performance is reasonable if not exciting. It sips fuel, though, with Citroen claiming over 50mpg. Car Deal of the Day: 10,000 miles per year in the upgraded Cupra Formentor for only £280 a month
Updated styling, interior and tech Well equipped and good to drive £280 per month The hugely popular Cupra Formentor received a significant series of upgrades last year, including sharper styling and a revamped interior. But if the new and improved version of the sporty SUV wasn't already attractive enough, it's currently available for just £280 a month with a very generous mileage allowance of 10,000 miles per year. Advertisement - Article continues below VIP Gateway is actually offering three-year lease deals on the Cupra Formentor from £267 per month, through the Auto Express Find A Car service. However, that price only includes an annual mileage limit of 5,000 miles per year, so for just £13 extra a month it seems a no-brainer to increase your allowance – even if you don't end up using it all. The deal also requires an initial payment of £3,616, which we think is reasonable. The facelifted Formentor features a new 'shark-nose' front end that incorporates Cupra's distinctive three-triangle headlight signature, while the rear bumper has been tweaked, to make the car look wider, and the full-width LED light bar. Of course, there's plenty of Cupra's signature copper detailing too, both inside and out. With V1 trim, the kit list includes 18-inch rims, a 12.9-inch central touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch 'Digital Cockpit' driver's display, a wireless smartphone charger, LED headlights, adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist. This particular Formentor is powered by a 148bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine that's paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The latter provides some electric assistance to help make the start-stop system smoother, and improve efficiency by allowing the car to coast in certain situations and recuperate energy when slowing down. Cupra claims you can average up to 47.9mpg.
