Ileana D'Cruz Reveals She Was Offered Raid 2 But Rejected For THIS Reason

Ileana D'Cruz is currently expecting her second child and has been keeping fans updated about her pregnancy. The actress recently revealed that she was offered a role in Ajay Devgn starrer Raid 2, but chose to turn it down because now her priorities has changed. Ileana mentioned that her character Malini in Raid was very close to her. A fan asked her about Raid 2 and when she is making comeback? The actress replied, 'I miss working in movies too and I would have loved to be a part of Raid 2. Raid was a special film but Malini was such a special character to play and working with my director Raj Kumar Gupta was a wonderful experience as was working with Ajay again. The makers of Raid 2 did offer the movie to me but unfortunately we couldn't work out the schedule given that I had just had my baby and my priorities are very different at the moment. That said I think Vaani looked lovely in all the promos I've seen and I'm sure she brought her own lovely charm to her character. Hope that clears any confusion." Another fan also asked her if she is planning to comeback, the actress said 'Absolutely'. When another user asked her why she hadn't appeared on screen lately, Ileana replied: 'Because I'm busy with diapers and baby bum cream." With no major releases scheduled until June 5, 2025, the film has a clear road ahead. Ajay Devgn returned to the big screen on May 1 with his much-awaited sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Raid. This time, he was joined by Riteish Deshmukh. Raid 2 marks the return of Ajay Devgn as Indian Revenue Service officer Amay Patnaik, who takes on a high-stakes mission to raid the property of the powerful Dada Manohar Bhai. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and produced by Panorama Studios and T-Series, the film also features Vaani Kapoor in a key role. Saurabh Shukla makes a special appearance, reprising his character from the original Raid. On the acting front, the actress was last seen in the romantic comedy drama 'Do Aur Do Pyaar" directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta. The film, which also stars Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, and Sendhil Ramamurthy. The 38-year-old made her screen debut in 2006 with the Telugu-language romantic-drama film Devadasu. She was then seen in films Pokiri, Jalsa, Kick, and Julayi. She also starred in the Tamil film Nanban. The actress expanded to Hindi cinema in 2012 with Anurag Basu's comedy-drama Barf!. Amit Trivedi Reacts To Fawad Khan's Abir Gulaal Getting Stalled: ‘India First'
Last Updated: Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor's film Abir Gulaal was postponed indefinitely due to the Pahalgam attack and India-Pakistan tensions. Pakistani actor Fawad Khan's upcoming Bollywood film Abir Gulaal, also starring Vaani Kapoor, will not see a theatrical release in India. According to a source linked to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the decision follows the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22. In light of the incident, authorities opted to withhold the film's release. Composer Amit Trivedi, who worked on the film's soundtrack, doesn't regret the film getting stalled. 'The decision [to not release the film] was taken keeping India first and I am in support of it completely," the musician tells Hindustan Times. As a composer who dedicates considerable time and creative energy to crafting a film's soundtrack, how does it feel when the project doesn't get released? 'Yes, it hurts when a project faces trouble. Not just this film, but anything I work on with all the honesty and hard work becomes a part of me. So, a project getting stalled is bound to disappoint you. We make music for the audience and as artistes, that's all you want (your music to reach the fans). But in this case, the scenario was very different. My country comes first, above everything else," says Amit. Abir Gulaal was set to mark Fawad Khan's much-anticipated return to Bollywood after nearly a decade. The Pakistani actor, widely celebrated by Indian audiences, previously starred in three Hindi films — Khoobsurat (2014), Kapoor & Sons (2016), and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). However, the industry dynamic changed significantly after the 2016 Uri terror attack. In its aftermath, associations such as the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) and the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) imposed bans on Pakistani artists working in Indian films. While Fawad Khan's comeback with Abir Gulaal was already facing opposition from a few, the protests intensified after the terror attack in Pahalgam when Lashkar-linked terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists. Raid 2 Box Office Morning Trends Day 22: Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role. Co-starring Vaani Kapoor, the crime thriller marks the sequel to the 2018 release, Raid, which was a hit at the box office. The Raid sequel has completed three weeks of its release. Raid 2 will now enter the fourth weekend. Produced under the banners of T-Series and Panorama Studios, Raid 2 has maintained a good hold at the box office. The recently released movie has become steady after the arrival of Hollywood releases. As per morning trends, Raid 2 is likely to witness a customary drop in its collection on the third Thursday. The Ajay Devgn and Vaani Kapoor starrer will collect Rs 15 lakh less than what it earned yesterday, i.e., Rs 1.40 crore. Also starring Riteish Deshmukh, Raid 2 has earned Rs 148.8 crore net business in the last 21 days. It will cross the Rs 150 crore mark today. The crime drama is the second-highest Bollywood grosser after Chhaava this year. Raid 2 is running parallel to Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning, and Final Destination: Bloodlines. The Raid sequel will have three more competitors starting tomorrow, namely, Bhool Chuk Maaf, Kapkapiii, and Kesari Veer. Raid 2 has already outperformed the lifetime net business of the original release, Raid. The 2018 film, which was also helmed by Raj Kumar Gupta, collected Rs 98 crore net back then. The total business of the Raid franchise would now come to a little under Rs 250 crore. Raid 2 features Ajay Devgn as Indian Revenue Service Officer Amay Patnaik. ‘Raid 2' box office collection: Ajay Devgn-Vaani Kapoor film crosses ₹150 crore
The makers of Raid 2have announced the latest box office numbers of the Hindi movie. Starring Ajay Devgn and Vaani Kapoor, the movie is a sequel to the 2018 film. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also helmed the first part, Raid 2 hit the screens on May 01, 2025. The makers said in an official release that the Hindi movie has crossed the ₹150-crore mark at the box office. 'Raid 2 has crossed the mighty ₹150 crore mark as it storms through its third weekend.' 'The third weekend alone added ₹13.45 crore nett (Friday+ Saturday+ Sunday) at the box office, taking the total nett collection to ₹153.67 crore and counting,' the makers said. On Friday (May 16, 2025), the movie made ₹3.12 crore while on Saturday (May 17, 2025) and Sunday (May 18, 2025) it collected ₹4.51 and ₹5.82 respectively, as per the makers. Raid 2 also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak and Amit Sial. Amit Trivedi has composed the background score for the movie while Sandeep Francis has done the editing. Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary is the cinematographer.
