Vaibhav Suryavanshi Drives England Crazy: ‘He's Tendulkar-Kohli Level Or Beyond'
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a 14-year-old cricket prodigy, is vice-captain of India U-19 in England. His 78-ball 143 has drawn comparisons to Tendulkar and Kohli. Rising star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been on a roll for quite some time now. After showcasing a glimpse of his talent in the IPL 2025, the 14-year-old is currently in England as the vice-captain of the India U-19. And no wonder that he has garnered a fan following in the United Kingdom as well. People may keep on debating about his age, but far from the noise, Suryavanshi has been doing what he is best at – scoring runs. The Bihar lad is turning heads in England with the sheer audacity of his strokeplay. His fireworks in the IPL were just the beginning. In the ongoing U19 series in England, he's taken it up a notch. A 78-ball 143 against England U19 at Worcester has become the talking point across both camps. With 355 runs in four ODIs at a jaw-dropping strike rate of 174, including 27 sixes, Vaibhav has caused a stir far from home. In the first Youth Test, he also picked up a couple of wickets and thus etched his name in cricket history. He became the first player to score a half-century and take a wicket in the same Youth Test match before turning 15. The cricket fans in England are going gaga over the teenager's exploits. Daniel Peacock, an ECB analyst tracking the series, says English fans are already whispering his name alongside Tendulkar and Kohli. 'The people I've spoken to in the game – I think we all have the same feeling. We've watched and witnessed a young star in the making, something very special. I would go as far as to say he's probably the best 14-year-old in any sport that I've seen live. I think the sentiment in England is that we are watching a very special young boy playing cricket – and the expectancy is Tendulkar-Kohli-level, or even beyond," Peacock told 'People are starting to make noise about him here.
