Kerala Cricket League Season 2 to be launched on July 20
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Cricket League (KCL) second season will be launched in the state capital on Sunday. Sports Minister V Abdurahiman will inaugurate the event and unveil the official mascots of the league at Nishagandhi Auditorium. Cricketers Sanju Samson and Salman Nisar will launch the fan jerseys for the season during the ceremony. Abdurahiman will also flag off the KCL Trophy Motorcade, which will travel across the state to promote the tournament. The event will be attended by Vattiyoorkavu MLA V K Prasanth, KCA officials, including president Jayesh George, franchise owners, including Priyadarshan, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Keerthy Suresh and T S Kaladharan, among others. The launch will be followed by a live performance by the music band Agam. As part of the tournament promotions, a trophy tour will also be conducted across seven districts.

Thiruvananthapuram corp set to conduct file adalats from July 22
Thiruvananthapuram: City corporation will hold Nagarasabha Janangalilekku 2.0, a special file adalat aimed at resolving pending applications and addressing public grievances, between July 22 and Aug 4. It will be held across all zonal offices and the main office of the corporation. According to corporation authorities, adalat sessions will commence at 10am on July 22 at Kazhakkoottam, followed by Kadakampally the same day at 2pm. On July 25, sessions will be held at Attipra in the morning and Sreekariyam in the afternoon. Ulloor will host the adalat on July 26 at 10am. On July 28, Vattiyoorkavu will hold the session in the morning, while the afternoon session will be at Kudappanakunnu. The schedule continues with Vizhinjam on July 29 at 2pm, Thiruvallam on July 30 at 10am and at Nemom on the same day afternoon at 2pm. Fort will host the adalat on July 31, starting at 10am. The main office will conduct sessions on Aug 2 and Aug 4, both starting at 10am. Applicants who submitted requests to the corporation are instructed to appear at the respective offices with their application receipts on the designated dates and times.

MLA VK Prashanth, Collector Anu Kumari take part in Yoga Day demonstration in Thiruvananthapuram
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vattiyoorkavu MLA VK Prashanth and Thiruvananthapuram District Collector Anu Kumari participated in the Yoga Day demonstrations organised in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. The legislator inaugurated the district-level Yoga Day programme at Central Stadium here. The ex-Mayor said that Yoga should be proactively propagated throughout the world and appreciated the efforts of the AYUSH mission in popularising the traditional discipline. 'Yoga is a comprehensive package," said collector Anu Kumari, mentioning the physical, mental and spiritual gains one can achieve through it. She also congratulated the mission for starting over 10,000 yoga clubs in the district during 2024.

Essay competition
The Trivandrum English Literature Club (TELC) in association with SPS library, Vattiyoorkavu, is conducting an essay writing competition in English on June 1 in connection with this year's World Environment Day celebrations. The competition, to be held at the SPS Library hall at Vattiyoorkavu, is open to higher secondary school and college students.
