After Sitaare Zameen Par Success, Genelia D'Souza Signs New Film

Last Updated: In the clip, Genelia D'Souza is seated while her team styles her hair. Dressed in a simple white top, she radiates natural beauty and happiness. Genelia D'Souza is all beaming with joy as she steps into a brand-new film project and her fans couldn't be happier. Taking to Instagram Stories, the actress shared the super amazing news via a video that gave a peek into her dressing-up session before embarking on the new journey. In the clip, the actress is seated while her team styles her hair. Dressed in a simple white top, she radiates natural beauty and happiness. However, what caught everyone's attention was a short text she added to the story, writing, 'New film = new excitement. Let's go." The message perfectly captures her enthusiasm and fans are already buzzing with curiosity, waiting for details about her upcoming project. The actress did not reveal any details about the film or her role, but the joy on her face says it all. Genelia D'Souza was away from the screens for a while before making her grand comeback to acting with her Marathi debut film, Ved, alongside her husband Riteish Deshmukh. The film opened to a positive response and became the second-highest-grossing Marathi film after Sairat. Her last performance in Sitaare Zameen Par alongside Aamir Khan also won hearts. The film, released earlier this year, received rave reviews and remains one of the biggest openers of the year. Genelia D'Souza On Her Sabbatical During her participation in a panel discussion on women's empowerment at Elle Impact, the actress said that she was discouraged from making a comeback after a 10-year break to focus on her kids and family. She said, 'It's a part of our life. I feel we hype our success too much and stress a bit too much on failure, whereas the impact and intent of your daily life are what truly matter. Being an actor who has worked in six languages, and someone who took a break because I was having babies, I remember people telling me, 'Oh, you want to come back to films after 10 years? It won't work,' but my comeback film became a cult hit. We shouldn't listen to people." Sitaare Zameen Par Coming back to Sitaare Zameen Par, the film is based on the Spanish movie Campeones and serves as a spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par – featuring Darsheel Safary alongside Aamir Khan. view comments First Published: July 29, 2025, 12:28 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. 4 literary cameos you missed in Bollywood movies

(Written by Kaashvi Khubyani) Books are not always read out loud in movies. Sometimes, they just sit quietly in the background- in someone's hands or next to a cup of coffee, but they still say a lot. In Bollywood movies, where everything is big and dramatic, these little book moments can feel surprisingly personal. They often tell us what a character is feeling or searching for. Here are four such times where books made quiet but powerful appearances on screen. Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha is all about figuring out who you really are, even if the world forces you to be someone else. In one scene, Ved (Ranbir Kapoor) gives Tara (Deepika Padukone) a copy of Catch-22– a book about a man stuck in a confusion and frustration. It's not just a random choice. The book reflects Ved's own struggle with living a life that doesn't feel like his. Just like the story, Ved feels trapped and the book quietly says so. When Rani (Kangana Ranaut) takes a solo trip to Paris after getting heartbroken, she takes something special with her- The Alchemist. The book is about chasing your dreams and finding your purpose and that's exactly what Rani ends up doing. As she discovers new places and new parts of herself, the book becomes her travel companion. It accompanies her, reminding her that she's stronger than she thought she would ever become. She steps out of her comfort zone and slowly lets go of who she was. She begins to find her own 'Personal Legend,' not in the form of love or marriage but in reclaiming herself. Black tells the story of Michelle (Rani Mukerji), a girl who can't see or hear and her teacher (Amitabh Bachchan), who helps her find her way in a world. The film is inspired by Helen Keller's life and in one important scene, Michelle is seen holding Keller's autobiography. The book doesn't just appear as a reference, it's a symbol of hope. It becomes a reminder that words can be felt even when they can't be heard and that even the most silent journeys are still full of voice. Since Dil Bechara is based on The Fault in Our Stars, it makes sense that Kizie (Sanjana Sanghi) is shown reading the original book early in the film. It's a small yet emotional moment- a look at the story it's retelling. Like the novel, the movie is tender and heartbreaking. By showing the book on screen, it feels like the characters know they're part of something bigger, a story that so many people have cried over and connected with. The next time you're watching a movie, notice the books that characters are reading or even just keeping nearby. They're placed in the scene for a reason. Books in films might not always have dialogue, but they do speak. Whether it's about identity, love, growing up or healing, these quiet literary moments add something special and often, something deeply human. (The writer is an intern with

Exclusive: Genelia Deshmukh on reuniting with Riteish Deshmukh for Ved 2!

Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh After the success of Ved in 2023, Genelia Deshmukh has confirmed that a sequel is in the works. The Marathi film, directed by her husband Riteish Deshmukh and a remake of the Telugu hit Majili, resonated deeply with audiences. In a conversation with Mirror, Genelia shared, 'Right now, Riteish and I are busy with our individual projects. But as soon as we find time, we'll work on a film together. Ved 2 is definitely on the cards! It might take a year or two, but people keep asking about it, and it has to happen.' Genelia also revealed that Ved was a hit not just with audiences but with their sons Riaan and Rahyl too. 'We've shown them films like Ved and Dhamaal, but they haven't seen Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na yet. Recently, they watched Sitaare Zameen Par. I made a conscious decision to take them because it's a film about inclusion and empathy—it teaches important life lessons. I even took 30 kids along to watch it. The film shows that everyone has their own version of normal. I was proud to be part of it. I've really missed films that speak to kids.' Talking about audiences returning to theatres, Genelia said, 'A good film always finds its audience. People don't avoid theatres, I think sometimes the content is just not engaging enough for them. I look at theatrical films as a great medium because it becomes an outing and a family bonding activity.'

The specialty of the film is that actress Genelia Deshmukh, who was once a sensation in Telugu cinema, makes her comeback. She is seen as one of the top management professionals in a college, and her role is quite key to the film. Already, two songs have become chartbusters, and the trailer showcases Kireeti in a hyperactive avatar. The trailer has become a talking point and is a complete package of entertainment and emotions. Delhi HC Bars Patanjali From Airing 'Disparaging' Ads Against Dabur Chyawanprash: What's The Issue?

Last Updated: It comes after Dabur filed a plea in the HC stating that the ads for 'Patanjali Special Chyawanprash' falsely claimed "no other manufacturer has knowledge to prepare Chyawanprash". The Delhi High Court on Thursday restrained Patanjali Ayurved from running disparaging advertisements against Dabur Chyawanprash. Justice Mini Pushkarna, while hearing a plea filed by Dabur, passed an interim injunction on Thursday, stating that the ads in question appeared to target Dabur's product specifically, while also making generic derogatory claims against other Chyawanprash brands. What's The Issue? Patanjali Ayurved recently launched advertisements promoting its 'Patanjali Special Chyawanprash', in which it allegedly claimed that 'no other manufacturer has the knowledge to prepare Chyawanprash", and used terms like 'ordinary Chyawanprash" for other brands. In the advertisement, Baba Ramdev is quoted as saying: ' Jinko Ayurved aur Ved ka gyaan nahi, Charak, Sushrut, Dhanwantari aur Chyawanrishi ke parampara mein ' original ' Chyawanprash kaise bana payenge'?" Patanjali said its own product contains 51 herbs in comparison to Dabur's 40, a claim dismissed by Dabur. These claims were perceived as disparaging not just Dabur Chyawanprash specifically, but also for other manufacturers. Dabur, a leading FMCG firm and leading manufacturer of chyawanprash, filed a petition in the Delhi High Court stating that the advertisement for 'Patanjali Special Chyawanprash' falsely claimed that 'no other manufacturer has the knowledge to prepare Chyawanprash," suggesting that all other products were 'inferior". 'In addition, false and misleading statements made in the advertisements (in respect of an ayurvedic drug/medicine), in disparaging comparison with DABUR Chyawanprash," the petition claimed. The ad also allegedly referred to other brands as 'ordinary," implying a lack of authenticity and expertise in Ayurvedic formulations, it added. The advertisement made 'untrue" claims that all other manufacturers had no knowledge of Ayurvedic texts and the formulae used to prepare Chyawanprash, Dabur said. What Delhi HC Has Said The court has barred Patanjali from running the diparaging ads against Dabur Chyawanprash. Justice Mini Pushkarna allowed the interim injunction on Dabur's plea. 'Application is allowed," the judge said. The court posted the next hearing on July 14. The case comes months after the HC also censured Ramdev over a video containing disparaging remarks against herbal drink Rooh Afza.
