Dist admin to observe World Day Against Child Labour
Mysuru: Additional deputy commissioner P Shivaraju on Friday said that the district administration decided to observe World Day Against Child Labour on June 12 at Maharaja's Pre University College to spread awareness among people about the protection of children's rights.
It also aims to create awareness for the complete eradication of child labour in the district.
He was speaking after reviewing the progress of a district-level task force meeting. He gave directions to all gram panchayats and urban local bodies to observe the event. He also asked them to carry out the drive against such activities from June 13 to 30 by conducting spot inspections in all industries, factories, hotels, shops, and other establishments. He directed them to book cases against owners if they found employed child labourers in their business activities.
He also asked them to bring all school dropouts back to school.
Assistant commissioner of labour Veena SR and labour officer Chethankumar were present at the meeting.
