Sources say that the team is meticulously scouting the Chennai and Hyderabad regions for the perfect location to begin the first schedule, which is expected to be in the last week of June this year. For the unaware, director Puri Jagannadh, who is known for his flamboyant manner of storytelling, is all set to helm his next ambitious project with the versatile actor Vijay Sethupathi playing the lead. The upcoming venture is to be a full-on mass and commercial entertainer, distinguished by a unique storyline that blends Puri's signature style with Vijay Sethupathi's magnetic screen presence. The film is to be bankrolled by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under the Puri Connects banner. Theatre occupancy On Monday, May 26, 2025, Ace recorded an overall occupancy rate of 14.98% in Tamil-speaking regions. The morning shows had a relatively low occupancy of 9.48%, but this improved during the afternoon with 18.37%. Evening and night shows saw occupancy rates of 14.12% and 17.96%, respectively, indicating a steady audience turnout throughout the day. In the Telugu-speaking markets, the film experienced a slightly lower overall occupancy of 13.77% on the same day. Limited footfall in Tamil Nadu In its primary market, Tamil Nadu, 'Ace' registered an overall occupancy of 16.51% in the Tamil version across 2D screenings. Chennai showed the most enthusiasm, with occupancy touching 41% in night shows, pushing the overall city average to 29.25%. However, other regions like Coimbatore (15.75%) and Madurai (15.75%) reflected only average interest. The film saw its weakest Tamil performance in Bengaluru, with just 7.75% overall occupancy.
