Sky pay day deal cuts TV, Netflix and fibre broadband back to its 'lowest price' ever
Sky has brought back a popular deal from its Easter sale offering a TV, Netflix and broadband bundle for a record low price to rival Virgin Media and BT Sky has launched a flash pay day sale that's dropped a popular TV and broadband bundle back to its 'lowest price' ever. The provider has just brought back a popular deal from its Easter sale that offers the Essential TV and Full Fibre 300 broadband package for £35 per month and also includes 300Mbps fibre broadband for the cost of 150Mbps. Sky said 'our lowest ever price is back' as it unveiled the new round of deals, which have also seen the Ultimate TV and Full Fibre 300 broadband bundle – which includes more than 35 extra channels – reduced to £39. Sky's Full Fibre 300 usually comes in at £29 per month without any TV access, but the current deals also include more than 100 channels such as Sky Atlantic, Sky Sports News, and free-to-air channels like BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Both plans also come with free subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+, with the option to add Sky Cinema and Sky Sports to the package for an £10 and £20 respectively. All of this is accessible via Sky Stream, the brand's latest device that delivers TV and streaming services through WiFi instead of a traditional satellite dish. Sky has recently introduced the new One Touch Switch scheme, which means customers don't have to contact their existing broadband provider to make the switch. In a move to simplify customer transitions, Sky has taken on the responsibility of contacting customers' previous providers, reports the Mirror. It's important to note that Sky's TV and broadband packages are tied to 24-month plans, with the company indicating that its prices 'may change' during the minimum term. This year, Sky's TV and broadband prices went up by 6.2%, hinting at the possibility of a comparable hike next April. Notably, Sky is among the few providers offering subscribers the option to exit their contracts early if a price hike is announced. Sky's TV and broadband deals offer stuff competition for Virgin Media's Bigger Combo bundle, which delivers more than 200 TV channels and 362Mbps fibre broadband for £34.99 a month, but lacks access to Sky Atlantic, Netflix and Discovery+. Sky also beats BT and EE's comparable Big Entertainment and Full Fibre 300 plan, which is on offer at £48.99 per month for six months. Even with this discount, the plan is more than £600 more expensive over the 24-month term once the price reverts to the usual £63.99 rate. Sky members have been singing praises for the brand on Trustpilot, where one five-star review says: "Sky Stream is a game changer. Switched a few weeks back and it's the best decision I've ever made. Installation takes care of itself, the remote even auto tunes itself to the TV. The best part is though the ability to have a single charge for all your streaming subscriptions." This customer left a mixed review, saying: "I wasn't happy with the service provided by Sky, phoned up to change my deal and was passed around like a parcel. Eventually I got to speak to someone who knew what they were doing. I am happy my issue was finally resolved but took a lot of work." But another happy customer said: "I've been with lots of companies to get my TV and internet but the best service I have received out of them all is Sky. We did change to other companies because of the price but always go back to Sky."

Millions of Sky and Virgin customers warned of four TV changes coming to screens ahead of major channel closure
SKY and Virgin customers should expect a number of changes coming to the TV guide this week - right before a major channel closure happening next month. The line-up is routinely overhauled to make way for closures, new arrivals, as well as rebrands. 1 Sky Q boxes in particular have already received some big switches this week. On Tuesday, more than 30 radio stations were shifted around on the TV guide for the first time in years. Later this week, there are yet more changes on the way for some Sky and Virgin viewers, depending on your subscription. And early next month there's a channel closure that will impact all platforms. This week's changes take place on Friday and affect Sky Cinema. Sky Cinema regularly changes up the channel names to reflect special themes and events. From Friday, there are four to watch out for. Sky Cinema Hits, Sky Cinema Action, Sky Cinema Drama and Sky Cinema 80s will all disappear temporarily. They'll be replaced by Sky Cinema Blockbusters, Sky Cinema Karate Kid, Sky Cinema Pride and Sky Cinema Romance respectively. For those who need a reminder of the channel numbers, they are as follows: Sky Cinema Blockbusters - Sky 303 / Virgin 403 Sky Cinema Karate Kid - Sky 307 / Virgin 407 Sky Cinema Pride - Sky 310 / Virgin 410 Sky Cinema Romance - Sky 302 / Virgin 402 The 1% Club players stumped on tricky maths question as 13 players pass - but could you have got it right- Channel closure Early in June a channel will sadly close after more than 10 years on air. Fortunately, a replacement has been lined up already. Reality TV destination ITVBe is disappearing from every platform, including Sky and Virgin, as well as Freeview, Freesat and Freely too. The biggest ITVBe shows, like TOWIE, will move to ITV2. Meanwhile, ITV is filling the vacant slot with a new channel called ITV Quiz. ITV shows a number of popular game shows such as The Chase, Tipping Point, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, The 1% Club and Deal or No Deal - though it's not clear which will appear on ITV Quiz. ITV has confirmed to The Sun that ITVBe will close and be replaced by ITV Quiz on June 9. More channel closures 'inevitable' An industry expert told The Sun that more channel closures are likely in 2025 and beyond. "This is inevitable, more broadcasters will cull broadcast/linear TV channels as viewers are flocking to streaming services," Paolo Pescatore from PP Foresight said. "The big TV switch off is around the corner, with all programming set to be delivered via the internet. "Viewers are now spoilt for choice with how and where they watch the TV shows they love across a range of connected devices. "To respond, broadcasters need to be prepared and work more closely with telecom providers to ensure a seamless experience for users." Image credit: Getty

Corrie star now working 'normal job' after soap exit amid financial woes
Coronation Street star Adam Hussain has taken up a very "normal job" just weeks after announcing his departure from the ITV soap, which airs on Virgin Media in Ireland. The actor, who has played Aadi Alahan for five years, is lending a hand at his family's tailoring business in Sale, Manchester. Adam, 24, revealed last month that he has decided to leave the cobbles to focus on "new pastures" after joining the show in 2020. The beloved soap star has since given fans a glimpse into his real life as he shared news of his everyday job on Instagram, posting a photo featuring several sewing machines and items awaiting alteration. Alongside the post, he wrote: "Helping out at the family business." He also geotagged Stitch In Time tailors, promoting the family venture. Adam's unexpected new role coincides with his upcoming farewell from the series after over half a decade. His exit comes amidst the show's reported financial woes and a wave of departures, with seven prominent cast members having already exited. In a heartfelt Instagram post last month, Hussain confirmed his exit from the popular soap, writing: "I guess the secrets out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures." He added: "Over the five years I've spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little." (sic) The actor reassured fans this wasn't a permanent goodbye, stating: "This isn't a farewell for Aadi however, more like a see you later!" He finished: "I'm excited to see what the future brings! Thank you @coronationstreet @itv for giving me such a privilege of portraying this character for you. Until next time!" Hussain first appeared on Coronation Street in April 2020, taking over the role of Aadi from original actor Zennon Ditchett, who left to focus on his studies. His character Aadi is the son of shopkeeper Dev Alahan, played by Jimmi Harkishin, and the twin brother of Asha, portrayed by Tanisha Gorey. Sources say that while leaving the soap was a big decision, Hussain is feeling confident and excited about his future. He's had loads of new opportunities coming his way so he already feels like he's made the right decision. Adam recently reposted a picture of himself on set with a group of fellow actors, including Hollyoaks star Kirsty-Leigh Porter, who portrays Leela Dexter on the E4 soap. The duo are featuring in a new film called Spice for Life, with Adam taking on the role of Sully. Alongside the photo, Adam penned: "Was great working with these lot". Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on Virgin Media in Ireland.
