ICC Women's Player of the Month for March 2025 revealed
Voll began with a 50 off 31 deliveries in the opening game, before a quickfire 36 off 20 in the second T20I, and wrapped up the series with a career-high 75 off 57 in the final game. Voll's success means that Australian players have won the monthly award for the fourth month in a row, with Annabel Sutherland bagging it in December 2024 followed by Beth Mooney in January and Alan King in February. Elated at being named the Player of the Month, Voll said: "Winning this award is certainly a nice way to cap off what's been an incredible summer for myself and the team. "To go to New Zealand and claim that T20 series against the World Champions was the perfect way to end the season. It's been a whirlwind first summer in the Australian side and I'm excited for what next season holds."

Iyer and Voll named ICC Players of the Month for March
India's Shreyas Iyer wins his second ICC Men's Player of the Month crown after Champions Trophy heroics Australia's Georgia Voll claims ICC Women's Player of the Month thanks to impressive runscoring exploits in New Zealand series More about the ICC Player of the Month awards is available here . The International Cricket Council (ICC) has today revealed the ICC Men's and Women's Players of the Month for March 2025 as Shreyas Iyer of India and Georgia Voll of Australia. Iyer wins his second ICC Men's Player of the Month award after leading India's runscoring charts and starring in the latter stages of their historic ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 triumph. Voll meanwhile celebrates her maiden ICC Women's Player of the Month crown, securing the accolade after explosive batting exploits in Australia's victorious T20I sweep of New Zealand. Iyer overcomes New Zealand duo Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra to win the men's award, with Voll seeing off compatriot Annabel Sutherland and the USA's Chetnaa Prasad in the women's category. Both wins extend Player of the Month winning streaks for their respective nations – Iyer makes it successive honours for India following Shubman Gill's win in February, and Voll becomes the fourth consecutive Australian female to be named the Women's Player of the Month. Both players were crowned following a vote conducted among global fans registered at and a specialist panel comprising ICC Hall of Famers, former international players, and media representatives. With 172 runs coming at an average of 57.33 during the final three games of the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025, Iyer was a leading light for India as they secured a landmark third win in the competition's history. As the tournament approached its business end, the top-order batter first struck a match-winning 79 in 98 balls to ensure India came out on top in their final group stage match against New Zealand. A vital 45 runs in partnership with Virat Kohli then helped India navigate a challenging semi-final against Australia, before he once again laid the foundations for a successful run chase in the breathless final against New Zealand, hitting a controlled 48 in 62 balls which saw them knock off 252 for victory amid joyous scenes under the lights in Dubai. ICC Men's Player of the Month for March, Shreyas Iyer, said: 'I'm truly honored to be named the ICC Men's Player of the Month for March. This recognition is incredibly special, especially in a month where we lifted the ICC Men's Champions Trophy — a moment I will cherish forever. 'Being able to contribute to India's success on such a big stage is something every cricketer dreams of. I'm grateful to my teammates, coaches, and support staff for their unwavering support and belief. 'A heartfelt thank you to the fans as well — your energy and encouragement keep us going every step of the way." ICC Women's Player of the Month Voll only made her international debut back in December, yet she has already given a glimpse of her potential on the world stage. March's contests against rivals New Zealand witnessed an explosive array of strokes by the 21-year-old and she wasted no time in grabbing the headlines, smashing her maiden T20I half-century in just 30 balls in the opening match in Auckland as Australia capably chased down 138 for victory. She followed that up with 36 more runs in Mount Maunganui before a Player of the Match-winning performance in Wellington – the opener striking 75 runs in 57 balls to ensure a commanding series sweep over the T20 World Cup champions. ICC Women's Player of the Month for March, Georgia Voll said: 'Winning this award is certainly a nice way to cap off what's been an incredible summer for myself and the team. 'To go to New Zealand and claim that T20 series against the World Champions was the perfect way to end the season. It's been a whirlwind first summer in the Australian side and I'm excited for what next season holds.' 'Best batter in the world' - Voll hails mentor Mooney post series win over NZ
Georgia Voll registered her highest T20I score in the third & final T20I against New Zealand to guide Australia to another emphatic series whitewash. Scoring 75 off 57 deliveries, Voll was named Player of the Match as Australia wrapped up a 3-0 series win. The knock was the latest in Voll's breakout summer for Australia, with the 21-year-old having cemented herself as a key player in Australia's batting lineup. Voll credited mentor and close friend Beth Mooney - who was named Player of the Series against New Zealand - for bringing the best out of her at the top of the order. "(The series) was great, I love being a part of this team, and it's world class. I feel like (by) being a part of this team, you raise your own standards, and push to keep getting better," Voll told reporters post-match. "When you're batting out there and opening the batting with the best batter in the world, you definitely learn a lot, which has been great for my game as well." Mooney has been in phenomenal form in 2025 - scoring 575 runs at an astonishing average of 72 - and finished with 166 runs from three outings this series. Finishing close second to her in the run-scoring charts was 21-year-old Voll, who amassed 161 runs from her three outings, which included two half-centuries. Opening up on her latest knock in Wellington, Voll said, "(It was) very scratchy, I definitely grinded the whole way through that innings. I was lucky enough to get a couple away towards the back end but it was hard work out there," Voll told reporters after the game. "It was nice to not throw it (her wicket) away, and try and keep building, and to get a couple (boundaries) away in the last 10 balls or so of my innings.' Voll had the rub of the green in her favor as she earned a reprieve six times during her innings against White Ferns, making most of those chances to anchor Australia's innings after they were in to bat first by the hosts. Admitting that she lacked the fluency on display in her first two outings in the series - 50 off 31 and 36 off 20 - Voll added that her latest outing offered new positives to her game. "Not being able to strike as well as I have in the last couple of games, being able to adapt and open up another side of the field, which I probably haven't done in the T20 game, was what I was most proud of coming out of today. "To be able to adapt and grind that way through, sometimes those are the hardest innings, but the ones that are most rewarding as well." Touching up on her next assignment for Australia A, where she faces off against England A at home, Voll added, "(It'll be good to get) a little bit more experience. "England A have brought a really quality side over here, and I haven't played as much one-day cricket in the last couple of months, so I thought it was a great opportunity to take that and try and keep evolving my game as well."

Australia survive Kerr heroics to complete NZ whitewash
Australia have recorded a ninth-straight Twenty20 win against New Zealand, surviving an Amelia Kerr-inspired chase to complete an eight-run victory in Wellington. The reigning T20 world champions after a shock triumph at last year's tournament in the UAE, New Zealand were humbled by their nemesis once again in a 3-0 whitewash. Chasing Australia's imposing 4-180 at Sky Stadium on Wednesday, New Zealand managed 8-172 in an innings highlighted by star allrounder Amelia Kerr's impressive 66. Kerr and Maddy Green (62) threatened to pull off New Zealand's highest successful run chase in T20s when they came together in trouble at 4-54. The pair put on a rollicking 99-run stand, before Green was inexplicably run-out by a brilliant Georgia Wareham throw when the hosts had gained all the momentum. Reigning Belinda Clark Award-winner Annabel Sutherland was smashed by Kerr for a four off the first ball of the 19th over. But Sutherland hit back in dramatic fashion, claiming three wickets in four balls to finish the over with figures of 4-35. Australia have not lost to New Zealand in the shortest format of the game since March 30, 2021. Earlier, emerging star Georgia Voll blasted her highest Twenty20 score as she and fellow opener Beth Mooney (21) again led the way. Voll whacked 75 from 57 balls, surpassing her previous best of 50, before she was bowled by New Zealand captain Suzie Bates. The opening pair registered their third-straight stand of more than 50 after dominating in Auckland and Tauranga. The 21-year-old rode her luck during the innings, dropped three times by the sloppy hosts. "I think I'm going to head to the lotto store and buy one (a ticket) after this game," Voll said. "It was nice to be able to come out the other side, battle a little bit, but to get us in a good position was pleasing." Skipper Suz with the golden arm! Georgia Voll (75) is bowled by Suzie Bates. Star allrounder Ellyse Perry hit an unbeaten 32 to power Australia to an imposing total once Voll was dismissed in the 15th over. Bates, Amelia Kerr, Rosemary Mair and Sophie Devine all took one wicket each for New Zealand. Devine, who has only recently returned to cricket following a mental health break, was visibly emotional during the anthem before the match. Quick Darcie Brown flew back to Australia for family reasons, with veteran Megan Schutt replacing her in the XI.

Panels removed from Apex pyramid in Pawtucket
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — The Pawtucket pyramid is coming down. Grace Voll, a spokesperson for the city, told 12 News that the Apex building's ziggurat roof, which is visible from I-95, is in the process of being removed. The pyramid-shaped department store was built in 1969 and has mostly sat vacant for years, other than a few nonprofits working out of the building. Though the pyramid itself is structurally sound, Voll said the exterior panels had deteriorated beyond repair and posed a safety hazard. The panels were removed Saturday morning. 'The removal of the pyramid has nothing to do with the roof,' Voll stressed. 'The pyramid was commercial façade.' Eventually, Voll said the entire Apex building will 'likely need to be leveled' as the city looks to revitalize the downtown area. 'This property is a key part of Pawtucket's waterfront revitalization — connecting the stadium at Tidewater Landing to future residential and commercial developments — with the goal of becoming the new state-of-the-art headquarters for Hasbro,' Voll said. It's unclear whether Hasbro is considering the Apex building for its new headquarters. Hasbro announced last September that it was considering moving to Massachusetts, but the state and city have been trying to convince the Pawtucket-based toymaker to stay. RELATED: A new Hasbro HQ at Apex? Pawtucket leaders scramble for ideas There was a point in time where the city was mulling whether to transform the Apex building into an indoor pickleball facility, but that proposal was quickly shot down. Voll said three nonprofits — Project Health CV, Sleep in Heavenly Peace and the ELISHA Project — are still leasing sections of the building. The city is not planning to ask those nonprofits to vacate the building anytime soon. This comes two weeks after strong wind gusts knocked the iconic red Apex sign off of the top of the pyramid. It's unclear exactly if and when the entire building would be torn down.
