Wahlburgers closes 79 locations nationwide in 2025 shake-up
Wahlburgers has closed nearly 80 locations this year, dipping to 34 restaurants nationwide. The burger chain founded by actor Mark Wahlberg and his brothers, Donnie and Paul, simultaneously closed 79 locations earlier this year that were in Hy-Vee grocery stores, Eat This, Not That reported earlier this month, ending an agreement that started in 2017. Wahlburgers CEO Randy Sharpe told Nation's Restaurant News that the closures affected food court kiosks at the Iowa-based chain. "It's not a full-service restaurant, and it wasn't a significant revenue driver for either side,' Sharpe told the publication. Here's what to know. Where are Hy-Vee stores located? Hy-Vee operates 302 stores in Iowa and seven states near it, according to the web scraping tool ScrapeHero. Iowa has the most in the U.S. with 151 locations. Other locations include the rest of the Midwest and the Southern region of the country, too. Mark Wahlberg owns Chevrolet, Buick and GMC auto dealerships Wahlburgers isn't Mark Wahlberg's only business interest. The former rapper known in the 1990s for Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch also owns several auto dealerships in the Buckeye State. Mark Wahlberg has Chevrolet dealerships in various parts of Ohio, including Columbus, Worthington and Avon, as well as a Buick GMC dealership in Columbus. The dealership websites prominently feature a photo of the Hollywood actor. But wait, there's more Wahlberg launched a Mexican-inspired restaurant, Flecha Cantina, in bustling Las Vegas late last year. He's also a co-owner and brand ambassador for Flecha Azul Tequila, which he partnered with in 2022. Wahlberg made his mark in the fashion industry as well, becoming a co-founder and owner of Municipal clothing. The lifestyle brand blends athleisure apparel with streetwear flair and launched in 2020.

Bridget Moynahan To Reprise ‘Blue Bloods' Role On ‘Boston Blue', Reuniting With Donnie Wahlberg
Another Reagan is headed to Boston — even if it's just for a short visit. Bridget Moynahan has become the first Blue Bloods main cast member to make an appearance alongside Donnie Wahlberg on CBS' upcoming offshoot Boston Blue. She will reprise her role as Erin Reagan in the premiere episode of the new series, which will air October 17. Wahlberg posted a photo of the duo on the Toronto set of Boston Blue with the caption 'Reunited and it feels so good!' (You can see it below). In addition to guest starring, Moynihan will direct an episode of the freshman drama this season. New Kids on the Block perform on 'GMA' 3 decades after 1st performance
Iconic boy band New Kids on the Block returned to " Good Morning America" Thursday for a final summer concert in Times Square, more than 30 years after they first performed on "GMA." "It's an honor every single time," Donnie Wahlberg said of performing on "GMA," which will debut its new studio in downtown New York City on June 16. "We love it." Wahlberg was joined by bandmates Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre and Danny Wood as they performed hits including "Step by Step" and "You Got It (The Right Stuff)." The band flew to New York City from Las Vegas, where they will kick off their first-ever Las Vegas residency on June 20 at Dolby Live at Park MGM. McIntyre described the residency -- which will run through Nov. 15, 2025 -- as the "show of a lifetime." "It's all the bells and whistles of Las Vegas. We're pulling out all the stops," he said. "It's really the show of a lifetime. We're getting to do all the dreams we had since we were teenagers. It's going to be great." In addition to their residency, New Kids on the Block is also celebrating the 35th anniversary of their hit album "Step By Step." The band will release a special anniversary edition of the album on Friday, June 13. "We're so blessed. We have so much fun together," McIntyre said of the band's decadeslong career. "We're family, and we've been through so much." While surrounded by fans at "GMA," Wahlberg attributed the success of New Kids on the Block to the generation-spanning fans who have attended their concerts and purchased their music for multiple decades. "Kind of everything we do is all about them," he said of New Kids on the Block fans. "Of course we love making music. We're artists. We care about what we do. But honestly, where are we without them?" Wahlberg continued, "If you look back at some of those old appearances on 'GMA,' it's like, 'These guys are never going to make it.' Actor recently discovered that three Scottish brothers — Ewan, Jamie, and Lachlan Maclean — are attempting a jaw-dropping feat of physical and mental grit. They are rowing a world-record-breaking 9000 miles across the Pacific Ocean from Lima, Peru, to Sydney, Australi,a with no stops, no support crew, no engine, and no sail, all to raise money and awareness for clean water projects in Madagascar. According to Glasgow PR firm Story Shop, Wahlberg recently made a surprise video call to the brothers to tell them how inspirational they are and what a great film this will eventually make. "I'm so inspired by you guys. You're badasses doing something no one else would even think of," said Wahlberg on the call. "This could be a movie. The best films I've done are based on true stories — ordinary people doing extraordinary things. No way I'd row an ocean, but I'd play one of you guys in a movie." The brothers are 54 days into their trip, and they are battling the elements, a broken watermaker, and a faulty autohelm. During the video call, Wahlberg remembered spending many days and nights at sea when he filmed The Perfect Storm with George Clooney in 2000."When I was preparing to do The Perfect Storm, I went out on a sword boat — in Ocean City, Maryland, a longliner, and we were actually fishing. We caught some pretty big tuna — 500, 600-pounder. I don't know how you guys are gonna wrestle that thing onto that boat, man. Oh my gosh," said Wahlberg, upon learning that the brothers had a tuna on their fishing line. Wahlberg continued: "What you guys are doing is next level. You're living out a sense of purpose – combining passion with impact. That's rare, and it's humbling to watch. People need to hear about what you're doing. "I couldn't be more inspired by the grit, the determination, the resiliency. What you guys are doing for such an amazing cause, and how hard you're willing to sacrifice yourself and your own well-being for the good of others, is so inspiring. "We'll have a meal waiting for you. My gosh, by that time, we may even be down there to welcome you," said Wahlberg. The Maclean brothers are on a 28-foot carbon fiber boat called the Rose Emily, named in honor of their late sister. They row in two-hour shifts and have been living on freeze-dried meals and desalinated water. They expect the journey to take more than 100 days. "It's been much harder than we expected," said Ewan, who left his job as a Dyson engineer to help design and build the boat. "But today we had dolphins surfing near the boat, and that lifted our spirits — and then we hear we get to speak to Mark Wahlberg, so spirits are absolutely through the roof. We are such big fans, and speaking to him is like a dream come true for us. It's so cool… but it's bloody surreal." Lachlan added: "We're all operating on such little sleep that we thought it all could have been a hallucination." The brothers previously set three world records in rowing the Atlantic in 2020. They rowed for 35 days on a 3000-mile trip from the Canary Islands off the coast of West Africa to Antigua in the Caribbean. They set records for the first three brothers to row any ocean and the fastest and youngest trio to ever row the Atlantic Ocean. This current trip is triple the distance.
