Windsor Castle security scare as man breaks in while William and Kate nearby
An intruder sparked a royal security scare after they allegedly broke into the grounds of Windsor Castle. The man is said to have climbed over the wall to get in the castle grounds on Sunday before he was quickly detained by officers from the Metropolitan Police, which is responsible for security at the royal residence. A man in his 30s was then handed over to the local police force, Thames Valley, before being arrested on suspicion of tresspass and possession of a Class A drug. It has been reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales, were at their Adelaide Cottage home on the Windsor estate at the time with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. However, as the intruder is said to have entered the grounds near Town Gate, it was some distance away from the royals' home. The man is also said to have not entered the inner buildings of Windsor Castle. A source told The Sun: "He broke into the castle near Town Gate and was quickly detained by police. It was a crazy thing to do and caused quite a stir but at this stage it appears there was no intent to cause any serious harm." A Met Police spokesperson said: "A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of trespass on a protected site and possession of Class A drugs after entering restricted grounds at Windsor Castle. "Officers in the grounds spotted the man just after 13:00hrs on Sunday, 1 June and quickly arrested him. He was then passed into the custody of Thames Valley Police." Meanwhile, Thames Valley Police, said: "At just after 1pm on Sunday 1 June a man entered restricted grounds at Windsor was quickly challenged by Met police officers and arrested. He did not enter the inner grounds of Windsor Castle. "He was arrested on suspicion of trespass on a secure site and possession of class A drugs. He has been bailed and an investigation is ongoing by Thames Valley Police." Just last year, the Prince and Princess of Wales suffered another terrifying security breach after masked intruders allegedly smashed down a barrier and scaled a six-foot fence to get access to the Windsor Castle estate. The two men allegedly broke into the estate during the night to steal farm vehicles before driving off in a pick-up truck and on a quad bike that had been stored in a barn on October 13. King Charles and Queen Camilla were not at the residence at the time, but William and Kate were believed to be sleeping at nearby Adelaide Cottage with their three children. Adelaide Cottage is nestled in the heart of the 655-acre Windsor estate and is extremely close to Windsor Caste. This means the Waleses can pretty much pop in to see King Charles when he is in residence at Windsor Castle with relative ease.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'disappointed' after being 'snubbed' for huge honour
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been left 'disappointed' after they were 'snubbed' for a huge honour, according to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have been left feeling a tad deflated after missing out on a prestigious accolade that was bestowed upon the Prince and Princess of Wales, suggests a royal expert. William and Kate were recently named in Time 100's Philanthropy 2025 list, while Harry and Meghan were noticeably absent. The magazine included William and Kate in its Innovators category, lauding them for "modernising royal philanthropy" and being "less concerned with cultural preservation and more attuned to social issues". However, it was a different tale for Harry and Meghan who were overlooked for this year's list, despite having made the cut four years prior. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 to embark on private ventures in the corporate world, had previously secured a spot on Time's roster of the most influential figures back in 2021, which even featured a cover story on the esteemed publication. Despite promoting themselves as "shaping the future through business and philanthropy" on their website, the couple failed to make the grade this year. Former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond stated that the Waleses thoroughly merit their place on the list, but suspects that not receiving a mention themselves would have been a bitter pill for the Sussexes to swallow, reports the Mirror. "I'm sure Harry and Meghan will be disappointed that they haven't made the list, especially as they have emphasised their focus on philanthropy on their website. I wish them well with the work they do, but now, firmly outside the royal family, they simply do not pack the same punch as the prince and princess," she told the publication. The honour for William and Kate comes as they embark on an ambitious project to revamp community spaces across the UK, utilising a combination of grants and personal time from their Royal Foundation. They've pinpointed several locations nationwide that will benefit from financial support and the establishment of new task forces, which will receive expert advice and guidance from their team. The goal is to build a network of businesses investing in local projects to improve facilities ranging from community hubs to sports centres, with announcements expected in the upcoming months. Jennie added: "There's no denying that William and Catherine carry a lot of clout in whatever field they choose to get involved. And they have each made a significant impact in trying to help solve crucial social issues. "I think they will be pleased that their efforts have been recognised alongside the likes of David Beckham, Oprah Winfrey, and Melinda French Gates. "The Prince and Princess have focused their energy on causes like early development, the environment, homelessness and mental health. These are issues that affect large sections of society." She continued, "Their brand of royal patronage is less about elitist cultural preservation and more, as William himself has said, about 'impact philanthropy, collaboration, convening, and helping people'. "Time magazine cited William and Catherine as innovators for modernising royal philanthropy. It recognised that their strategy is to get corporate and expert support for the causes they are working to highlight. They want to be more than just figureheads: they want to bang heads together and get action going to help solve some of society's many problems."

Harry and Meghan 'disappointed' over huge snub as they 'don't pack a punch'
It emerged that the Prince and Princess of Wales have landed themselves a spot on a prestigious list of the world's best philanthropists, but there was no sign of Prince Harry and Meghan. Now, one royal expert has explained why this might be the case Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will have been disappointed to not take a prestigious honour that was handed to the Prince and Princess of Wales, according to an expert. It emerged that William and Kate have been included in the Time 100 Philanthropy 2025 list, but Harry and Meghan were not. Prince William's Temper ‘Boiling Over' After French Media Publish Invasive Photos: ‘Unacceptable'
Prince William is considering considering legal action over the publication of highly-intrusive photos of a recent skiing holiday he took with wife Kate Middleton and a source exclusively tells In Touch the whole issue is causing a lot of stress at home as the couple struggles to enjoy privacy away from the spotlight and worry about the impact it's having on their three young kids. 'They were under the expectation of having privacy and just trying to take a break, this was totally unacceptable,' the insider says, adding the prince's 'temper is really boiling over this one, so no one will be all that surprised if he does take action.' The Duke and Duchess of Wales jetted off to Courchevel, France for a luxurious skiing holiday and made a stop in Paris for an Aston Villa match during the U.K.'s spring school break. They booked a private chalet, but French paparazzi still managed to snap a few photos of them relaxing with their three kids, Prince George, 11, Prince Louis, 6, and Princess Charlotte, 9. The pics were published by Paris Match on April 9 and, while fairly innocent and actually quite heartwarming themselves, signal a serious threat to the family's privacy. 'They're still quite traumatized from that time the French magazine published those topless pics of Kate on holiday,' the source brings up. 'The scars from that run deep.' Back in 2012, William, 42, sued the French publication Closer, seeking damages for the release of topless photos of Kate, 43. Royal expert Rebecca English described the prince's reaction as he found out about the pics while on tour in Malaysia, especially as the incident brought up painful memories about how unfairly the media treated his mother, Princess Diana, before her death in 1996. The prince's "jaw clenched, he could barely contain his fury," she wrote in an op-ed for Daily Mail. "His anger was completely understandable: the instinctive reaction of a man whose wife was violated by the paparazzi, a hurtful re-imagining of the harassment he believes his late mother endlessly endured." The first source notes, 'They won that case against them for invasion of privacy,' and that with this latest misstep by the French media, 'they may very well pursue that again.' The Waleses are no slouches when it comes to protecting their little ones from prying eyes and the pitfalls of fame. They've pushed back many times against media intrusion — as has William's estranged brother, Prince Harry alongside his wife Meghan Markle — to varying degrees of success, though they've definitely succeeded in staking out the claim that their family's privacy is not to be played with. 'They've been standing up for themselves in this area for many years,' the insider explains. 'William understands the interest in him, and he often obliges, but that doesn't mean he has no rights to privacy.' 'He was out with his family and he's very protective of his kids and his wife,' the source continues. 'It really creeps them out to be followed and photographed like that and, of course, when William sees them upset that sets him off.'
